Orange Bowl parking
Do any of you have experience parking at Hard Rock Stadium? I recently received a link in an e-mail from the Athletic Department. It led to this:
I suppose I'll have to deal with Ticketmaster if I want to park near the stadium. Are there any angles to play outside the perimeter? Private parking lots a little farther away, etc.? If so, what are the details? Thanks in advance.

I was at the Orange Bowl against FSU a few years ago. Hard Rock Stadium is basically in the middle of a lot with nothing around...no restaurants or anything and getting out of that parking lot after the game will be tough. I would advise parking offsite and taking an Uber in. That is what we did for the game a few years back and I would do it again if I was going to the game!

Looks like this

Also Blue Haze(sorry to clutter this thread up), there will be an Uber line outside of the stadium that they will direct you to and it is mass chaos. Do not stand in that line! Walk half a mile and then put your Uber request in. Will absolutely save you 30+ minutes.

My experience at the Uber tent at the 2016 Orange Bowl was a total disaster. We waited 2+ hours postgame before our phones finally died. Ultimately, had to pay a driver cash to let us hop in his SUV with some friendly random Michigan fans and take us back to Miami Beach. Perhaps they've improved the logistics but it was awful at that time.
Based on that experience I would recommend to drive and find any offsite parking. I wouldn't want to have to rely on Uber.

That stadium is just sort of in the middle of nowhere in a sea of parking, so I think it's either pay for the parking pass, or uber from your hotel, which may end up being the same amount.

There is enough parking at the stadium but its expensive i think i paid 50 back in 2016. If you park outside the stadium its quite a walk away

I live in the area and have been to a handful of games. Do not leave your car in the Walmart parking lot, you may be ticketed and towed. Also would not suggest Uber, because the one and only Uber pick up point at the stadium will be total chaos after the game and will also have you waiting a very long time. This is what I would do to pay a little less and safely park:
There is a dirt/grass strip used for off-stadium parking just NW of the stadium. You can get to it driving south on 27th Avenue, approaching the stadium from the north. Its just along the north edge of a canal.
When not tailgating beforehand, it's really convenient and have never had any problems there. Hopefully this screenshot with a dropped pin works!

I was there 3 years ago for a game and there is plenty of off site parking down the street from the stadium. It’s a small walk to the main property but not bad. Overall had a great experience there!

How's the area around the stadium? Will it be safe walking at night?

I'll be parking in my driveway up here in Michigan.

If you go through Stubhub or Ticketmaster those passes are pretty darn expensive. The one we got for I think the Orange or Yellow lot was $111 after tax, but that is still going to beat Uber. At least for us anyway.
We're staying in Ft. Lauderdale, and I don't want to imagine the surcharge we'd be hitting on NYE after a CFP semifinal. Especially in Miami. The cost of Uber just one way may be equal to or greater than the cost of the parking pass. And then if you're trying to actually get back to Miami or the South Beach area, then god help you.

I'm leaning toward driving from FLL as well. Don't care so much about the Uber cost, but don't want to wait forever. Wonder if we could organize a party bus? Have to be a ton of people making the same commute.

Whether you're waiting forever for an Uber or waiting forever to get out of the parking lot, then I don't think there's much you can do about that part, my friend. The game is sold out, likely won't be an empty seat in the house, and most everyone is expecting a close game, so I doubt many people are leaving before the game is over, barring a blowout.
What that translates to is that more than likely, everyone is going to be trying to get out of there all at the same time. In other words, I would just accept the fact that its probably going to be an hour anyway from the time you leave the game to the time you get to wherever you're ending your night. If not longer.

Oh so it is shorter than parking at UM Golf course? Im all in. I cannot image anything worse than southbound State St after a game.
This year’s Ohio game was the worst ever. We waited 2 hours to get to I94. We even left the stadium late because those pesky students would not get out of our way when we tried to take a short cut across the field.

Long post but current info…..For those of you that were at the FSU game for the last Orange Bowl prepare to be pissed off! The wife is a season ticket holder for Miami(YTM) has been for years and when we were down there for a few games this year it’s ABSOLUTE CHAOS!! Our great businessman Mr Ross is trying to create a “destination area” for the stadium. In 2016 the tennis courts were still under construction which cut close to stadium parking. NOW they are in the process of building a F1 track around the stadium for the Miami Grand Prix….so parking is cut even more. Be prepared to walk a bit to get to the stadium…most will probably park across the street in the Dolphins/Hurricanes Orange lots…up to 3/4-1 mile away. Doesn’t sound like a lot but Florida humidity lol!! As a previous post put Hard Rock is literally in the middles of nowhere hence why Ross is trying to change that. As for leaving after the game….be prepared to sit and wait…the directional traffic flow they have due to the construction is batshit crazy. You may be directed to go in a completely opposite direction than you want….just go with it and have your GPS get you back to where u are staying. GOOD LUCK and GO BLUE!!!!

I hear Biscayne Bay is a good spot to park for free.

It’s going to suck. I pass it every day on my way to work and the F1 track construction is taking up a lot of space.
I’d suggest parking at the Hard Rock and getting an Uber.

We parked in the stadium lot for the Orange Bowl five years ago. Getting out sucked after the L, but tailgating before was great.

I was at the FSU game. Everything about the parking at Hard Rock and getting there and back is awful. It is how I am justifying not having game tickets. That and my mother not wanting me to come back to her house with Covid-19.

Anyone know how SunPass parking works? I have a SunPass for our frequent FL travels and plan to drive to the game with it. The SunPass website says there are lots set up with SunPass access at Hard Rock, but, I am not seeing it specifically shown on the parking lot maps. Any locals know if they exist and if you can just pull up and get in with your SunPass?

If you call the Orange Bowl ticket line, there were Yellow passes for sale a few days ago for $50 (no mark-up).
