Michigan St. vs. Pitt in the Peach Bowl (Dec. 30, 7pm).
I've got Pitt by double digits.
December 5th, 2021 at 2:48 PM ^
CBS is doing the best with listing them that I have found.

I like the Narduzzi story line for this one, but I have no idea how Pitt's passing offense is.
December 5th, 2021 at 2:50 PM ^
They're quite good. Kenny Pickett will potentially be in New York for the Heisman. This likely couldn't be a worse match-up for MSU.....and I love it.
December 5th, 2021 at 3:46 PM ^
I don't know... They're ACC good. They lost to Western Michigan at HOME earlier this year. I think its the easiest draw they could have had. Not sure Pickett will be there for the bowl game.
December 5th, 2021 at 8:53 PM ^
Speaking of MSU theyre all pissed off on the RCMB at ESPN for disrespecting them when talking about their bad pass defense and how Pitt will take advantage of it, and how KWIII probably wont win the Heisman now (no shit, 6 carries for 25 yards against OSU will do that) but the undeserving Hutchinson will go to New York because ESPN is slobbering all over us and promoting us. And one guy was all "Fuck Pitt I know a Pitt fan and their fanbase thinks theyre Alabama theyre so arrogant!"Somehow every other fanbase to them is "so arrogant". Weird.
December 5th, 2021 at 3:08 PM ^
Lol at one point there were like a top scoring offense in the country. That's why I think they win. I don't think MSU can keep up with them.
Not 49-0 at the half, but MSU is overrated, IMO. And that's not bias and I'm not even saying I'd rank them much lower (I'd have them #11 behind Utah).
I just don't think they're actually a great team. I think they're a really solid team that played a great half against us.
December 5th, 2021 at 4:17 PM ^
Pitt passing offense is 6th in Yards per game. Between OSU at 5 and Purdue at 7.
December 5th, 2021 at 7:16 PM ^
So, right between the teams that scored 56 and 40 on Sparty . . . 48 points it is.
December 5th, 2021 at 2:53 PM ^
I think this could be a good/interesting match-up. It would be fun to see a duel between Kenny Pickett and Kenneth Walker III.
Edit: I guess the people have spoken, but Adam Rittenberg agrees: https://www.espn.com/college-football/insider/story/_/id/32790032/college-football-bowl-picks-predicting-score-every-game
December 5th, 2021 at 2:59 PM ^
Ahhh, the Peach-Pitt Bowl.
December 5th, 2021 at 3:16 PM ^
Ha! Sparty got jobbed into a second-rate bowl that no one outside of Western Michigan will watch.
December 5th, 2021 at 3:24 PM ^
Pitt has a very rabid fan base that has not sniffed a big bowl since the late '70s and early '80s. Also, not sure I'd call the Peach Bowl a second-rate bowl.
December 5th, 2021 at 5:26 PM ^
I get what you're saying, and maybe agree with the sentiment.. but; it is by definition "second rate". First rate would be NY6 games, followed by the "second rate/tier" games, like the Peach Bowl. We've seen our share of them recently, so I'm not throwing mud. Just saying.
December 5th, 2021 at 5:59 PM ^
But the Peach Bowl is a New Years 6 game. But I guess you could say that 1st tier is playoff and 2nd tier is NY6. I don't think I'd say that, but one could make the argument.
December 5th, 2021 at 7:20 PM ^
But does anyone really think the Peach is on par with the Rose, Orange, Sugar or Fiesta? I don't know too many people who vacation in Atlanta in December.
December 5th, 2021 at 8:14 PM ^
No one was calling it second rate when we played Florida in the Peach bowl in 2018
December 5th, 2021 at 7:46 PM ^
It isn't played on New Years day.
December 5th, 2021 at 8:17 PM ^
Neither are the playoff games
December 6th, 2021 at 2:38 PM ^
Right. I was wrong.
For anyone who wants to throw some rocks, I'll be standing right here for a while.
Ow.

December 5th, 2021 at 9:33 PM ^
Moving the goalposts? If playing on NYD makes it premier, then I guess the citrus and outback are top tier.
December 6th, 2021 at 2:36 PM ^
No, not moving goalposts. I genuinely thought all of the "NY6" games were on New Years Day. I was mistaken.
I don't move goalposts. I'm okay with being wrong, it happens.
December 5th, 2021 at 6:36 PM ^
NY6 includes peach, cotton, sugar, orange, fiesta, and rose.
So the peach is, by definition, not second rate.
December 6th, 2021 at 1:18 AM ^
The first-rate NY6 bowls are played on New Year’s. There’s a pecking order. The Peach Bowl is not really a top bowl and it’s played on Dec 30. It’s second-rate even by NY6 bowls.
December 5th, 2021 at 3:35 PM ^
All of us will watching. Who are we kidding?
December 5th, 2021 at 4:31 PM ^
Another bad matchup for Sparty in the pass defense. I like Pitt's chances to win. Go Pitt!
December 5th, 2021 at 5:03 PM ^
Pickett/ Addison/ Mack will be a priority for me in Fanduel. Hopefully Staee isn’t down 49-0 at the half to keep the Pitt pass game going.
December 5th, 2021 at 4:55 PM ^
So they get the “New Year’s 6” game played on Dec. 30? Smells like DISRESPEKT to me.
December 5th, 2021 at 6:05 PM ^
Hail 2 Pitt
December 5th, 2021 at 2:44 PM ^
Notre Dame vs. Oklahoma St. in the Fiesta Bowl on January 1 at 1pm ET.
(I'm not going to do all of these individually)
I have no idea who wins this one.
December 5th, 2021 at 2:47 PM ^
Ohio St. vs. Utah in the Rose Bowl on Jan. 1 at 5pm ET.
If all OSU players play, I think this a GREAT game. Objectively, can't wait to watch this one.
December 5th, 2021 at 3:03 PM ^
Consider it my Mormon mission to root for Utah that day.
December 5th, 2021 at 3:09 PM ^
Oh yeah, I love the matchup...but I'll be damned if anyone thinks I'm rooting for OSU. Fuck that.
December 5th, 2021 at 4:04 PM ^
I thought the University of Utah was like the closest thing to being Mormon-neutral in the whole state. Well, there's a part of town in Salt Lake City that brags about how Brigham Young made them sound like Mos Eisley...
December 5th, 2021 at 3:31 PM ^
Same. Utah's a really easy team to root for:
- A former G5 team that earned a promotion to the adult's table
- A couple decades of workmanlike, consistent success.
- Stability in the HC position; Whittingham is probably top 5 longest-tenured coaches, and he's not a huge dick and hasn't been plagued by scandal
- Generally good rushing attack, solid defense, and plays sound fundamental ball
- Always a few jumbo-sized Polynesians along their lines
...and they're taking on the evil empire in their first-ever Rose Bowl. Go Utes!
December 5th, 2021 at 3:34 PM ^
No one said yet? The Urban Meyer Bowl at Rose Bowl :D Mormons vs sinners (??) Too much?
December 5th, 2021 at 6:47 PM ^
It's just the straight up Urban Meyer bowl since he coached at both schools.
December 5th, 2021 at 3:56 PM ^
They've stuck their noses up for years at all our NFL prospects forgoing Bowls and really hurting our performance in them... Now we'll see how things go when the shoe is on the other foot...
December 5th, 2021 at 2:48 PM ^
Final NY6...Sugar Bowl at 8:45pm on Jan 1.
Baylor vs. Ole Miss.
Also, another fantastic match up, IMO.
The Sugar Bowl and Rose Bowl are my two favorite, non-Playoff matchups.
December 5th, 2021 at 2:51 PM ^
MSU 247 Red Cedar board blaming ESPN, disrespect by media, the ‘blue wall’, etc for their slot. I guess when you are ‘gifted’ a game by the Refs against Michigan you are entitled to something.
Remember Spartee … you did not beat Michigan. The Refs beat Michigan.
December 5th, 2021 at 2:55 PM ^
No man that’s where you are wrong. WE blew a lead and it shouldn’t have come down to that one play.
December 5th, 2021 at 3:29 PM ^
It was more than one play my dude.
December 5th, 2021 at 4:58 PM ^
I loved Klatt going out and saying the only reason Michigan isn't 12-0 is because of the refs in that game. He pinned it on that miscalled TD only, but still! He ain't wrong!
December 5th, 2021 at 5:31 PM ^
It shouldn't have come down to 10 plays either.
December 5th, 2021 at 3:00 PM ^
What is the blue wall?
Sorry if I should know this already.
December 5th, 2021 at 3:07 PM ^
Perceived media bias
December 5th, 2021 at 3:11 PM ^
Is it blue because they think they all are biased towards Michigan? Sorry I'm asking so many questions...this is absurdly fascinating. I've honestly never heard that, and I want to confirm this has something to do with Michigan because it'll add another little brother tick to the chart.
December 5th, 2021 at 4:52 PM ^
Yes. Sparty is convinced that Detroit media loves and protects Michigan and calls it the blue wall.
December 5th, 2021 at 5:09 PM ^
Completely delusional on their part. They should read some trash from that douchecanoe from the Free Press..
