Brian December 5th, 2021 at 12:28 PM

Well, here's the bracket:

  1. Alabama
  2. Michigan
  3. Georgia
  4. Cincinnati

Georgia was the SEC runner-up after an undefeated regular season but lost to Alabama 41-24 in the SEC championship game. Michigan will play them at the Orange Bowl in Miami on New Year's Eve.

There is no content after the jump.

On New Years Eve, a game that ends near 11:00 is not "prime time".  When they had CFP games on New Years Eve a few years ago, the ratings were trash.  I had thought they learned their lesson.

I want our game, which is EST, to be the early game.  The Alabama-Cincy game, which is CST, can be the later game.

I like our chances v Georgia. They're gonna get punched in the mouth again, and they're going to get out-coached by the young and hungry Harbaugh Brain Trust.

Bull crap.  Michigan should be number 1.  Georgia shouldn't be in it over ND ..   Georgia's best win is against Clemson...

Why does Georgia get rewarded after getting spanked.

Beat Georgia!!!

Who is ND's best win? Wisconsin? Lol

Also...Georgia went 12-0 and ND went 11-1. So you're punishing them for playing an extra game and losing to one of the best 2 teams in the country (while ND lost at HOME).

Notre Dame doesn't have a win over ANY team currently in the Top 25, lol. NOT ONE!

Georgia has 3 off the top of my head...including Clemson, which is better than ANY team ND beat.

You an ND fan?

I don’t disagree with wanting UM #1, but I get it. In the regular season if #3 beats #1, the #3 goes to #1, so I get Bama being there…I don’t like it, but I get their thought. Also UM/Bama for #1 is a coin-flip in my opinion…

As for UGA not deserving to be in, I think that’s a bad take. All week people clamored that ND shouldn’t get in for a week schedule and no sitting idle this weekend. In my mind you can’t penalize UGA that bad for losing their conference championship, even though they got rolled. UGA is better than ND.

I think they have the 4 teams right, where they’re slotted is the argument in my mind. I think UM got hosed, but I’m biased. We’ll beat UGA, so it won’t matter. I like the matchup with UGA better anyhow since their QBs aren’t nearly as mobile, which has been a small chink in our armor this year…GO BLUE

Good matchup.  Feels like UGa's offense is more limited than Alabama's and part of me doesn't mind letting Alabama deal with all the crap Fickell is going to throw at them with a month to prep.  Obviously a tough matchup but UM has played defenses on the vicinity of UGa and done well.

I'll be happy to be proven otherwise but I think Georgia is a really tough matchup for us.  Their front 7 is maybe the best in the country so we're going to need to pass protect and  throw the ball really well.  And on the other side, they have a mobile QB that can slow down our pass rush, so we'll need to cover really well.  And we get to play them deep in SEC territory.  This is a big mountain to climb.

It was so obvious Alabama would jump Michigan. Still BS though.

Now I'm glad it happened bc it'll serve as extra motivation (as if our guys need it).

First impression is this game is going to be a rock fight in between the 20s. Both teams have identities built on running the ball, but running the ball is not going to be easy.

Feels like big plays, special teams, red zone performance and turnovers are going to determine the outcome

Georgia was unimpressive yesterday across the board. They’ll be refocused on 12/31 and we’re going to get their best. If this wasn’t the playoff - if this was the Outback Bowl - I’d say Georgia by 14. But Michigan having shown what we’re made of the last few weeks, and having climbed the mountain this far, there’s no team we can’t beat. I really like our chances.

As of this moment, I am seeing in Vegas GA -9 to GA -7.  If that's the current line, either one of those...Get on that UM action in Vegas NOW. RIGHT NOW. That line is gonna drop fast. Georgia's QB is mediocre at best, and UM is the best all-around team in the country. 28 days from now, that line will be GA -3 or GA -4.

I've never bet on college football in my entire life, but I am putting $100 on UM right now with whichever online betting site is willing to give me the ridiculous idea that the game should be GA -9.

Alabama is the defending national champion beating OSU last year and they just beat the #1 team in the country by two touchdowns.  I don't have a problem with them being #1.  MI beat a #13 Iowa team that has no offense.  No one wants to see a rematch between Alabama and Georgia in the semifinal and would bring low tv ratings and ticket sales.  If MI was going to be at #1, they would put Georgia at #4.  Either way MI was going to play the Bulldogs.  Georgia will be a tough team to beat and will be angry that they lost their conference championship.

In 2014 Ohio State beat #1 Alabama in the semifinal at the Super Dome when no one gave us a shot with a 3rd string quarterback Cardale Jones.  That was like us beating the Russian hockey team.  I want to see MI and Cincy on Monday, January 11, 2022 in Indy.  Screw the SEC and their SEC chants.
