THE LIONS LOSING STREAK COMES TO A GLORIOUS END
LONG LIVE THE LIONS WINLESS STREAK
November 14th, 2021 at 5:20 PM ^
Of course the Lions would end a losing streak with a tie.

I have a few buddies that used to hate Stafford that I would argue with, they’ve seen the light.
November 14th, 2021 at 5:54 PM ^
Almost like nobody is paying any attention to the entire roster besides QB.

Wow - Justin Feagin, but somehow worse
November 14th, 2021 at 4:44 PM ^
You've been here way too long for a subject line so terrible.
November 14th, 2021 at 4:44 PM ^
Bad title, accurate content
November 14th, 2021 at 4:44 PM ^
On a side note, that is the exact type of weather we want against OSU...
And the exact type of weather we dont want Sparty gifted next week in CBus.
November 14th, 2021 at 4:45 PM ^
Remember all the Lions fans that wanted to get rid of Stafford, even though he was obviously the best QB we've had since Bobby Lane? Maybe now some of those Lions "fans" realize how good they had it.
November 14th, 2021 at 4:54 PM ^
I wanted to get rid of Stafford not because he was bad, but because it was clear the Lions were never going to win anything with him. We couldn’t tank with him and we were in draft purgatory with him-rarely bad enough to get a top 5 pick but never good enough to make the playoffs
November 14th, 2021 at 5:01 PM ^
Stafford is better than Goff, but the Rams literally have three wide receivers way better than the best one on the Lions.
- Cooper Kupp
- Robert Woods (now replaced by OBJ)
- Van Jefferson
(significant drop off)
- Amon-Ra St Brown
Not to mention the significant difference in the quality of the current play callers.
If Stafford were in Detroit, the Lions would likely be 2-7 (they beat the Steelers and one of the Ravens or Vikings). He wasn't the problem, but he's not the solution to one of the worst rosters in the league.
November 14th, 2021 at 5:22 PM ^
“How good they had it”? Now that’s funny.

There are less fans of the NFL right now than there were at 1pm, today. I'm not a fan of either and I was rooting for the Lions but that might have been the worst game I've ever watched. How you let Mason Rudolph throw the ball 50 times is beyond me.
November 14th, 2021 at 4:52 PM ^
Pittsburgh isn't very good.
November 14th, 2021 at 4:59 PM ^
No, they're not. My in-laws are Steeler fans and I've been telling my FIL that if the Steelers don't draft and develop a QB, they're going to be the 4th best team in a 4 team division. As much as I shit on Roethlisberger, the Steelers are lucky to be a 4 win team without him, at best.
November 14th, 2021 at 6:13 PM ^
Been telling my steeler fan buddy (also an OSU fan- no idea how we’re friends) that Ben should’ve retired 2 years ago when he was hinting at it. I think the Steelers actually have a decent roster that is just a QB from being really good. O-line isn’t as good as years past, but it’s not a tire fire. But then no one is paying me to be a gm. I may know nothing
November 14th, 2021 at 8:22 PM ^
Sorry, I don't get it, the Steelers won the competitive AFC North last year (12-4), and if Rothlisburger was covid free today would've had no problem disposing of the sad sack Lions and be back in first place again.
I knew once that news broke the Lions would probably win and fuck up that #1 Pick.
November 14th, 2021 at 4:49 PM ^
Have you forgotten the Millen years? Dan Orlovsky would like a word with you.
November 14th, 2021 at 4:51 PM ^
The Bears and Lions have had more than their share
Lions: Jeff Komlo, Eric Hipple, Chuck Long, Rodney Peete, Andre Ware, Scott Mitchell, Charlie Batch, Gus Frerotte, Joey Blueskies, Daunte Culpepper, Drew Stanton
Bears: Bob Avellini, Mike Phipps, Vince Evans, Mike Tomczak, Rick Mirer, Shane Matthews, Cade McNown, Kordell Stewart, Kyle Orton, Rex Grossman
November 14th, 2021 at 4:54 PM ^
I don't care, I have never witnessed a starting pro QB as bad as this guy.
November 14th, 2021 at 5:43 PM ^
A lot of those guys are way worse. Goff is not good and was horrible this game, but if you listened to the radio you know he couldn't throw with any velocity due to injury.
November 14th, 2021 at 6:01 PM ^
So bad he's been to a Super Bowl lol
November 14th, 2021 at 6:15 PM ^
I would say he’s what kept that team from winning a SB
November 14th, 2021 at 4:56 PM ^
I remember (fondly) the Hipple years. A burst of light and then the usual.
Some time into his reign, Hipple was helping a charity related to blindness. I saw, at the drug store, a donation box, and a picture of Hipple, saying "Close your eyes, and pretend you're blind." Someone had added, in felt tip, "Just like I do every sunday."
Oh, to be a Lions fan.
November 14th, 2021 at 4:59 PM ^
He played with some type of back injury. He had a wrap around his midsection on the sidelines. That, plus the crappy weather and zero NFL receivers, makes it a miracle they even got a tie.
November 14th, 2021 at 5:39 PM ^
Injured oblique. He plays no differently when he's healthy.
November 14th, 2021 at 4:59 PM ^
And as bad as Goff might be, the Lions still had a great chance to win the game, but of course now they don't have a kicker who can convert a 48 yd FG.
November 14th, 2021 at 5:10 PM ^
His NFL career long was 35! I don’t remember this guy much from Minnesota either. Did he ever burn Michigan?
November 14th, 2021 at 5:46 PM ^
How is it that an NFL franchise can end up with a kicker whose career long is 35 yds? I bet there are a dozen kickers currently not on a roster who could be signed as a FA who could do better than that.
November 14th, 2021 at 6:26 PM ^
We just needed him to make the extra point and it would have been a win. Sigh!
November 14th, 2021 at 6:43 PM ^
before that FG attempt the lions were in better field position until their vastly overrated TE committed a stupid holding call.
November 14th, 2021 at 5:06 PM ^
Goff spelled backwards if ffoG. Think about it.

November 14th, 2021 at 5:11 PM ^
Goff isn't the reason they suck
November 14th, 2021 at 6:40 PM ^
he's a big part of it
November 14th, 2021 at 10:07 PM ^
Spot on...it's very dynamic. Start with the Fords and work your way down to those NE idiots that totally depleted the roster and pissed everyone off. Jesus, talk about a ClusterF this organization is, but it starts at the top.
November 14th, 2021 at 5:20 PM ^
I think I like the original title to this thread better.
November 14th, 2021 at 5:24 PM ^
I don’t know if it’s from growing up in Detroit with the Lions, but the NFL bores me. I’ll get into it during the playoffs, but I rarely if ever get excited about watching a regular season game. I’ll follow how former Michigan players are doing, but that’s about the extent of it.
College football and hockey, on the other hand, I love watching.
November 14th, 2021 at 7:25 PM ^
Same. I don't even put the NFL on TV on Sunday unless there is nothing else to do or watch. I just don't have a team to root for. On the other hand, I pay $7.99 a month for ESPN+ so I can watch every single Red Wings game. Obviously wouldn't think of missing a Michigan game either.
November 15th, 2021 at 12:24 PM ^
I guess I got into the NFL more about 10-15 yrs ago when fantasy football was getting big. It’s really excellent football, players are very skilled and there’s a lot of parity. So many college games are one sided. I just realized that I have NFL Red Zone and it’s cool to watch them flip around showing constant highlights.
November 14th, 2021 at 5:36 PM ^
Just Gofful. The Lions are essentially playing without a QB.
November 14th, 2021 at 6:16 PM ^
So what are they playing with? This roster isn't a decent QB away from contending, it's awful across the board.
November 14th, 2021 at 6:16 PM ^
I was at the game. In person it was even worse than you can imagine.
November 14th, 2021 at 8:20 PM ^
Did you stay til the end? It looked pretty miserable on TV!
November 14th, 2021 at 6:27 PM ^
I love the Lions. Best team for Comedy Football!
November 14th, 2021 at 6:41 PM ^
Sometimes announcers just nail it on the head, and in this case it was whomever wondered if any team wanted to win the game,
