HTTV 2021 Update: Signed Copies and Add-ons
We are THIS CLOSE to being funded!
I have added a new tier to the Kickstarter: THE SIGNATURE. It is one signed copy, which will arrive later in the fall, and a digital copy you get at the beginning of August. You can also add this to your previous pledge.
Add-Ons.
Kickstarter added a new feature this year that we're going to take advantage of: Add-ons:
When you go to build your book order, you'll have the option to add any of these to your "cart." This will be the answer to a lot of questions I usually get like:
- Can you sign my book? Yes. Order the SIGNATURE.
- Can I buy an extra copy and mail it somewhere else? Yes. Buy THE BOOK or THE SIGNATURE or another tier and add an additional book as an add-on.
- Can I get extra t-shirts? Yes. They are available as an add-on.
- Can I get just a book and a t-shirt? Yes. But THE BOOK and add a t-shirt as an add-on.
Etc.
Seeing the thread title, I thought this post was going to go a different direction. But, I'll ask the question anyway...isn't there an NIL opportunity here??? As in, a $100 option for a copy of the book signed by a player?
Edit to add: I'm sure this would be an additional logistical burden and complexity to the process, but I'm sure it's something people would be willing to pay for and would be another avenue to funnel money to the players.
Now this is an idea. Great way to get Brian out of BPONE would be to have him directly impact the quality of player Michigan is putting on the field by contributing to NIL and making some money off it!
I'd pay $100 for a Dax Hill or JJ McCarthy signed copy.
NIL add-on coming soon?
No need to make it complicated. Goes to a general NIL fund for guests of future podcasts.
This would work... A NIL add-on attached to this kickstarter would have earned ~$30K (if not more) by now. But a completely new kickstarter for just NIL promotions, advertised on the front page of this here MGoBlog, would generate $$$thousands$$$ on its own, very quickly!
There is virtually no limit to what such funds could be used for...
Maybe I am just not internet savvy but I can’t figure out how to add the T-shirt this is my screen
[Edited for accuracy]
I went through this yesterday, I believe once you click the ADD button, you choose how many of that Add-On you want, and then once you complete adding your Add-Ons, press the "Continue" button.
They won't let me add a t-shirt to digital-only copies for some reason. It's because there's no shipping on it--I can't change it. Next year that will be available. We can do it manually--if you add $30 to your pledge and leave me a note we'll take care of it.
What if we want to kick it up a notch (Bam!) and go with a flaming hot take, instead of just an extra spicy one. Is that allowed?
That's doable but we may charge extra for scorching hot takes.
So no extra charge for flaming hot takes, then?
A Brian or Seth autograph - this reeks of self importance!
I thought it was going to be a players autograph....
So did I, but when I looked further I saw it was an autograph by Brian or Seth ?
We can write the name of a player. One player actually has an autograph in the magazine. I'll let you find it.
One time in kindergarten I had my teacher write Mario lemeuix’s name in cursive on his card to show all my friends it was signed. It worked. They were stoked. I do not feel shame for this
Easy nil money
Yes, it is very easy to make no money. ?
Extra spicy hot takes will be fun.
Brian is coming out of retirement to sign a few books?
Is the signature the signature of the cover athlete or a signature from Brian/Seth?
Signature from Brian or me (I'll dump a stack of them in front of him) but he tends to not always write "Brian Cook" on his so you might get a former player, or a gymnast, or anything really.
What must I pay for a long, rambling existential tract which will serve as my prediction for 2021?
