OT: NBA Draft Lottery Draw
So, the Pistons can land a pick anywhere from 1st to 6th when the lottery is drawn tonight at 8:30p. Most draft experts think that the top five prospects have separated themselves from the rest of the potential draftees. What are the odds that the Pistons land the the 6th pick and miss out on the top tier prospects? 20% (we all know that it is really 100% though). I still am holding out hope that the Pistons can reverse the recent Detroit lottery bad luck and land the #1 pick.
From what I've read, Cunningham, Mobley, Green and Suggs are the clear top four. After that there's a drop-off. Who's the other guy included in your top five?
Johnathan Kuminga is typically rated among the top tier. Link
Pistons will get first pick. And then trade down to take a flier on a guy from Europe.
Lots of former Pistons doing damage in the playoffs. I’m hoping tonight marks the start of future current Pistons making the playoffs, if that makes sense.
These guys are all nice role players and what not, but none of them are top end talent. None of them made Detroit even remotely close to successful. Good riddance on all these guys. Too bad the pistons had Donovan Mitchell have a lights out work out in front of them only to draft....... Luke FREAKIN kennard.
Khris Middleton is an All-Star and legitimate top-end talent. We gave up on him too soon.
Khris Middleton is not a first option on a title contender
Especially to get Brandon Jennings…smh
The Pistons aren’t going to get top end talent through free agency. They either need to get lucky and get the #1 pick when a generational talent is available, or put five 2nd tier guys together a la Chauncey, Rip, Tayshaun, Ben and Rasheed.
Stanley Johnson over local boy Devin Booker too
Khris Middleton is the 2nd-best player on the Bucks and a legitimate All-Star, and Tobias Harris is a really good player (he was good in Detroit as well) who is one Ben Simmons being a semi-functional offensive player away from being the #2 scorer on a finals team.
Detroit hasn't done great in the NBA draft but since Darko they've drafted in the top-10 5 times, with the "lowest" spot #7. It's really hard to build a great team that way without a ton of luck. Hopefully this year them being bad actually ends in a decent draft spot and the beginning of a better team.
Kumminga is the 5th. Younger, more raw than the top 4 but higher ceiling than the next group of guys like Bouknight, Wagner, Mitchell, Moody.
The Pistons love Bouknight supposedly. I'm not sure I agree with him at 6 but I would expect him to be the pick if the Pistons are at 6
Agreed. Bouknight can play. Kuminga is Stanley Johnson 2.0.
6th pick here we come!
Sorry Vlad, Pistons #1
You're welcome.
Can you say something about the M-OSU football game?
I'll be happy with a top 3 pick. If we get 4th I'm hoping someone else falls in love with Suggs.
Pistons are going to end up #1 and let the dynasty begin
Adding any of Mobley, Suggs, Green, or Cade with Grant Bey and Stewart
Are we writing off Hayes already?
Hoping the Pistons have a chance to get Cade here
We’re top 4! We’re top 4! We’re top 4!
HUGE!!
Pistons drafting #1!!!
We’re number 1! We’re number 1! We’re number 1!
HOLY
WOW! Detroit snags the 1st overall pick! Cade is going to be a Piston.
Good luck to Detroit. As a diehard Atlanta Hawks fan, I hope the rebuild goes well. Building up a young core of talent through the draft can return huge payoffs!
Could you send that memo to the Pacers? Drafting in the top 10 twice in the past 400 years (rough estimate) is currently working out REALLY well.
Number 1 pick!
We got Cade! And then maybe trade him for Simmons… LETS GOOOOOOOOOO!
Oh you hate, but Simmons would fit great in on this team.
The Pistons' most glaring need is a lights-out shooter/scorer -- exactly what Simmons is not.
Yes please take Simmons and give us Cade
- Every Sixers fan
FUCK YES!
LETS GOOOOOOOOOO
What?!? Hell yeah!
Let the Cade Cunningham era begin
We're #1! We're #1!!!!!!
Cade Cunningham it is.
Cade is a lot like Ben Simmons with a shot (which is the opposite of Ben Simmons, but still)
The Pistons got the #1 pick in a 1 player draft. Lucky af. The succ finally paid off.
Holy Shit!
They actually won it!
You can still rock in America
Well that's a nice turn of events.
Things are starting to look up for Detroit sports
Let’s go!!!! It’s so hard to describe how frustrating it’s been to be a pistons fan, looking forward to this event, and always leaving with the sinking feeling that it’s not get better any time soon. Hope!
User name definitely checks out.
The city was due a lil' lottery luck!
Welcome to the Pistons Cade Cunningham!
