Skill level and defensive effort have never been higher - guys are guarding so much more space with the 3 ball era and it's a much more complicated defensive scheme. Watch some actual 80s or 90s footage - it's embarrasing what kind of defense was played. It was more physical but only in a caveman type of way.
Talent level is currently on par with Bird/Magic/MJ era or Shaq/Kobe/Iverson era. There is phenomenal basketball being played every night and there is also some good drama - KD as villain with Warriors, Butler craziness, will Bron succeed in L.A., etc.
I love watching college basketball too but you're not watching the same class of athletes and you're not watching the same game for the same reasons if you like college but not the NBA.

Livers at the 5 hitting 3s makes us really hard to beat. Back to back games where he's come in and we've torched a team. He's improved greatly and is still a glue guy. It's hard to quantify with stats but he does everything well - his switch hand block on a GW player's reverse attempt was crazy good but hardly gets noticed.
This can be statistically shown to be false. Look at shooting percentage increases after 21 years of age in the NBA. Look at what Jason Kidd became in his middle 30's.
Finally, a real take on the CBB/NBA difference. This thread is littered with horrible NBA takes that are based on myth. If you are a fan of peak athleticism and skill and seeing that played at a higher level then you'll like the NBA. I like both but they're different games. I hated Jordan growing up because I was a Pistons fan and now I regret not taking the time to watch and appreciate him. I'm not doing the same with LeBron. This is a transcendent talent and a decent human being. I haven't liked any team he's been on but I've thoroughly enjoyed watching his entire career. It's stunning what he's doing at this age.
Double disagree. Love the NBA right now. High skill and talent level than ever right now. Go back and watch 80's NBA. I love those guys and those teams but they're not playing the same basketball. Guys today are amazing.
I think it does illustrate one of Jim's weaknesses that we were aware of before hiring him: his loyalty. It most likely prevented him from moving on from Drevno after a couple of years rather than 4.

Well, compared to my Rec league team: we go 5'10", 5'10", 6'0", 6'1",6'2" So, really, both of these teams are huge.
So they could wreck their championship chances in July by trading Kyrie instead of in August? I'm not a hater, I'd love to see LeBron get another.
