LB Osman Savage transfers to Alabama A&M
Little surprised he didn't get picked up by a power 5 team.

Terrorists have overtaken the US Capitol. I'm surprised no one has mentioned this yet.
[Edit: in an attempt to make sure you and everyone else here sees this, I'm taking the unorthodox step of posting within your comment something of a warning/clarification:
Please refrain from going off-subject or hijacking a thread, and ESPECIALLY not by injecting clearly controversial and/or politically-related material into an unrelated thread.
I'm well aware that you specifically are some 700+ points short of what's required to start a new thread yourself, but the subject matter you injected falls far too close to politics, the posting of which is specifically addressed within the "MGoBoard FAQ.

There's a billion other sites for covering the events in Washington. I have about six browser tabs open for them, myself. This doesn't need to be one of them.
January 6th, 2021 at 3:35 PM ^
There's been over like 500 Covid threads but apparently an attempted coup doesn't rise to the level of being thread worthy?
January 6th, 2021 at 3:34 PM ^
No politics on this blog
January 6th, 2021 at 3:37 PM ^
I guess an attempted coup is just "politics", right?
January 6th, 2021 at 4:13 PM ^
Start a thread and see how that works out for you. Oh, that’s right, they don’t allow someone with -600 points to start a thread.

Per my own post back in August, items of national importance will be considered, but there's a couple things here:
1) This one is literally getting covered on every outlet right now obviously.
2) There is no way it ends well on this blog. You could approach it in the most non-judgmental way possible - if that's possible right now - and it would descend into a whirling shit maelstrom in seconds.
I am sure some of us have well-formed opinions and could discuss it in a civil manner, but because this is not a universally held standard, we will simply skip as we do nearly every topic in this bucket.
January 6th, 2021 at 5:49 PM ^
On the other hand, letting it descend and taking the opportunity to IP ban all of the coup sympathizers seems like a great way to clean this place up to me.
January 6th, 2021 at 7:53 PM ^
Yeah, guys, this blog has a set of rules. It’s a bullet point, fer god sakes!
January 6th, 2021 at 4:54 PM ^
These MAGA motherfuckers are the scourge of the US.
January 6th, 2021 at 5:04 PM ^
*Extremists on both sides are the scourge of the US.*
Fixed it for you.
January 6th, 2021 at 5:22 PM ^
No hostile force has entered the Capitol like this since 1814. So that is a false equivalence.
January 6th, 2021 at 5:48 PM ^
The federal Capitol? This is somewhat true (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_incidents_of_political_violence_in_Washington,_D.C.).
However, it has occurred in State Capitols and other various government buildings at federal/state/local levels... of course the term "hostile force" is subject a a very wide range of interpretations.
January 6th, 2021 at 6:23 PM ^
"Hostile force" = occupying the Capitol without permission and while armed. That is pretty easy.
January 6th, 2021 at 7:20 PM ^
That's one definition - others also apply.
January 6th, 2021 at 6:04 PM ^
I'm not playing the "keeping score" game between the 2 extreme sides. There is no "scoring system" for any of this behavior.
"Oooohh, yeah but what we did is less bad than what they did."
Playing that game is, honestly, part of the problem.
January 6th, 2021 at 6:22 PM ^
Bullshit. One group of extremists stormed the Senate today. One side has been crying about the election being rigged. You are the one obscuring the problem. I don't like riots, but they are not direct attacks on our democracy the way this is. And that attack was done by one group of extremists, who were encouraged by the president, and not the other. We make distinctions in life all the time and choose between the lesser of two evils all the time. Don't be wilfully obtuse or too cowardly to call it like you see it.
January 6th, 2021 at 6:59 PM ^
Never once did I condone the actions today -- they are abhorrent and disgusting, quite frankly. I am not defending them by any means.
But to also say the views and actions of 1 extreme side is causing all the problems, while dismissing the views and actions of the other extreme side, is yes, part of the problem.
I don't have to pick a side, and neither do you. They can both be bad. Who says we HAVE to pick the lesser of two evils? I don't want to pick either of them. I want unity (that doesn't mean we have to agree on everything); I want peace. That won't happen unless BOTH sides come together.
January 6th, 2021 at 7:55 PM ^
You are keeping sides, though. You’re the one who fucking “corrected” the guy for calling on only MAGA.
January 6th, 2021 at 10:01 PM ^
In 1954, there was group of armed Puerto Rican nationalist that opened fire in the House chamber: https://history.house.gov/Oral-History/Events/1954-Shooting/
Not relevant to today’s events at all. Just wanted throw some history out there that I learned about 20 years ago on a in depth tour of the Capitol building.
Let’s hope it’s nearly 70 years or more (or ever) before something like this chaos happens again.

Modern politics:
Don't give them anymore attention.
January 6th, 2021 at 6:58 PM ^
Terrorists really, you can’t be serious. Do you even know the definition of the word?
January 6th, 2021 at 11:59 PM ^
I do.
People who use violence or the threat of violence to achieve their political ends.
Say for instance of a couple thousand people broke the windows and forced the doors on a federal property that was being used to carry out part of the formal transfer of power by the entire elected legislature. And if they happened to plant pipe bombs across the city at the same time. Those people would correctly be identified as terrorists.
January 6th, 2021 at 3:34 PM ^
maybe there's a reason he's not going to a P5 school...
January 6th, 2021 at 4:30 PM ^
I was going to say something similar. Grades? Attitude/work ethic?
January 6th, 2021 at 4:41 PM ^
How about we just wish him well and not speculate why. I hope this is a better fit for him; he does well on the field, in school and in life.
January 6th, 2021 at 11:44 PM ^
Well that's no fun :/
January 6th, 2021 at 4:39 PM ^
Maybe he feels more comfortable there. Football aside, not everyone is going to be happy at a big school like Michigan.
January 6th, 2021 at 5:30 PM ^
Yeah, just ask Harbaugh.
/ducks
January 6th, 2021 at 3:34 PM ^
Anyone know what happened with him? 4 star -> Michigan -> Alabama A&M is quite the journey all in one year
January 6th, 2021 at 4:12 PM ^
Not really sure. I know the services were split on him, and Magnus wasn't a fan. Look at the hello post:
January 6th, 2021 at 5:08 PM ^
Any validity to my theory that having a super awesome aggressive name like Osman Savage piques a recruiter's interest more than a blander name might?
January 6th, 2021 at 7:21 PM ^
Hell Yeah!
we call it LEVITICUS PAYNE theory
January 6th, 2021 at 5:09 PM ^
If you click through to TTB, Magnus gave him an '83' on account his improvement during his senior year, and that's a pretty high rating.
January 7th, 2021 at 8:11 AM ^
Yes, I thought he did improve as a senior, so I bumped up him in my rankings.
January 7th, 2021 at 8:41 AM ^
I don't want to put this on the kid, but a move to a school like Alabama A&M, especially for someone originally from Baltimore, feels like academics/behavior may have been a factor. Transferring may have been a kind way to say you have to go. For his sake, I hope I'm either wrong or that if I'm right it's not something that keeps him from reaching his potential.
January 6th, 2021 at 5:36 PM ^
Patton Oswald approves of this transfer
January 6th, 2021 at 5:59 PM ^
Neg me all you want I come here to read about Michigan sports shut the **** up about politics!!!
January 6th, 2021 at 7:59 PM ^
“Not now guys, I come to Twitter for the Harry Styles gifs.”
January 6th, 2021 at 6:05 PM ^
Absolutely savage news.
January 6th, 2021 at 6:16 PM ^
Who?
January 6th, 2021 at 6:29 PM ^
the women are exquisite on the hill, good luck to him, hope it works out
January 6th, 2021 at 6:42 PM ^
Best of luck, young man. All the best. Forever blue!
January 6th, 2021 at 6:52 PM ^
Good luck to him.
January 6th, 2021 at 8:53 PM ^
Weird, when he was getting mentioned as pushing Solomon and a potential backup to Barrett as a true freshman.
January 6th, 2021 at 9:29 PM ^
That was William Mohan. Savage was not getting any practice hype. Kalel Mullings and his HS teammate Nikahi Hill-Green were getting hype to back up Ross/McGrone
January 7th, 2021 at 5:08 AM ^
You are exactly right... I'm thinking of "Apache" Mohan's nickname...not Osman's last name. Appreciate the correction.
January 6th, 2021 at 11:27 PM ^
is it me or are we losing more guys to transfer than usual?
January 7th, 2021 at 5:16 AM ^
Every school is...
Guys are legitimately homesick.
Northwestern just won the B1G West and had a great season and they've had at least 7 guys transfer since the B1G Championship Game. Including starters or key backups.
They basically lost Charbonnet, Turner, Giles Jackson, Sainrisril, their Mayfield opted out before the season and never opted back in, they lost their Morant and Upshaw. They also had a junior CB turn pro and opt out of the bowl game.
Northwestern.
We'd freak out if that was happening here with the names I've mentioned.
January 7th, 2021 at 5:17 AM ^
Sidenote...I've been tracking it...4 of NWs guys have all transferred to schools back home. Playing time wasn't the issue.
