It’s official, osu is headed to the B1G championship game
December 9th, 2020 at 6:12 PM ^
Kinda wishing the circumstances were such that we could at least have given them a good game. Maybe leave them with some wear-n-tear going into their big contest.
December 9th, 2020 at 6:16 PM ^
The last time we gave them some wear-n-tear, we helped them win a national championship by knocking out their qb who couldn't throw the ball further then 10 yards
December 9th, 2020 at 6:19 PM ^
Don't forget when Haskins came into the game in 2017 and torched us.
December 9th, 2020 at 6:26 PM ^
Even their backup last year didn't miss a beat when Fields went out against us
The difference is Barrett was shit against good teams not named Michigan, and knocking him out gave them the long ball that put them over the top when paired with Zeke. Such a Michigan thing to happen to us
December 9th, 2020 at 8:05 PM ^
I remember, not being happy that Barrett was out (because he actually seemed like a good kid and who wants to actually root for/cheer injuries), but more like "OK this is the chance." Then Haskins was like, "No it's not."
December 9th, 2020 at 8:15 PM ^
I still remember the 3rd and 12 throw haskins made and watson literrally could knocked it down and he completely wiffed on deflecting the ball just like metellus dropped the pick 6 when OSU was going into our end zone..
The very next play it was 3rd and long and rashan and hurst both completely over ran the play and barret just ran in for a touchdown
December 9th, 2020 at 8:20 PM ^
I don't recall all of the details, and I don't care to look them up...but I vaguely remember thinking that that dropped interception (was it at like the 5???) would have swung the game.
December 9th, 2020 at 8:46 PM ^
Michigan was up 14-0 at the time, so the INT would have put them up 21-0. That might have been a big morale swing, or it might not have. Someone here recently posted that Michigan just seems to get repeatedly psyched out vs. OSU, to the point they could be up 28-0 with 10 minutes left in the 4th and they'd still find a way to blow it. I don't exactly disagree.
December 9th, 2020 at 8:47 PM ^
Was it a pick 6 though? Like, I don't recall him jumping an out and dropping it. Thought it was more of a lofted ball that he just dropped. I couldn't find a video???
December 9th, 2020 at 10:52 PM ^
Happened right in front of us, it was a very likely pick 6 if he simply caught the ball, it would've been a 95 yard return but there was literally nobody between him and the endzone... geez it hurts just typing it. I recall the instant feeling in the stands of "oh no that was the play" despite it still being relatively early on in the game

He didn’t come for no school

Kinda wishing the circumstances were such that we could at least have given them a good game.
There lived an old farmer who had worked in his fields for many, many years. One day, his horse bolted away. His neighbors dropped in to commiserate with him. “What awful luck,” they tut-tutted sympathetically, to which the farmer only replied, “We’ll see.”
Next morning, to everyone’s surprise, the horse returned, bringing with it three other wild horses. “How amazing is that!” they exclaimed in excitement. The old man replied, “We’ll see.”
A day later, the farmer’s son tried to mount one of the wild horses. He was thrown on the ground and broke his leg. Once more, the neighbors came by to express their sympathies for this stroke of bad luck. “We’ll see,” said the farmer politely.
The next day, the village had some visitors – military officers who had come with the purpose of drafting young men into the army. They passed over the farmer’s son, thanks to his broken leg. The neighbors patted the farmer on his back – how lucky he was to not have his son join the army! “We’ll see,” was all that the farmer said.

I can imagine this story going on and on for some time. A shaggy dog story? Fun to read.
December 9th, 2020 at 6:12 PM ^
Big wow
Much surprise
December 9th, 2020 at 6:15 PM ^
It’s just that the turn around on possibility to the official announcement was mega-hasty.
December 9th, 2020 at 9:33 PM ^
The B1G would televise an unwilling mother getting a coat hanger abortion in an alley on BTN if it got Ohio State to the CFP.
December 9th, 2020 at 9:39 PM ^
That was uncommonly specific.
December 9th, 2020 at 9:40 PM ^
Number of fucks that I have left to give about this whole season: Zero point zero.
December 9th, 2020 at 6:18 PM ^
Another reversed knee-jerk decision by the conference. Shocked.
December 9th, 2020 at 8:14 PM ^
I mean, making bad decisions on incomplete information and then flip-flopping on them when reality bites your plan in the ass is very on brand for 2020. It's very on brand for the B1G every year, but still. 2020.
December 9th, 2020 at 9:23 PM ^
B1G to OSU: No worries we got this.
December 9th, 2020 at 10:04 PM ^
Elephants eat ass too, who knew???
December 9th, 2020 at 6:20 PM ^
Meh. From a football perspective they deserve it, even if it further feeds the narrative that nothing bad ever happens to OSU. Any complaints should be directed to the B1G.
December 9th, 2020 at 9:01 PM ^
I’m directing my complaints to Northwestern in the hopes they pull off the huge upset. I would laugh for a long time if that happened.
December 9th, 2020 at 10:06 PM ^
The very same Northwestern that got reamed by the lowly 2 win Spartans a few short weeks ago. Oh, wait... nevermind.
December 9th, 2020 at 6:22 PM ^
Maybe this will breakup the east and west divisions of the big ten. As much as it pains me, they are the best team, and the conference should remove these divisions and find away to get the two best teams in the championship every year.
December 9th, 2020 at 7:12 PM ^
I would agree to this much like the Big 12 does. two top teams with best records are in period.
December 9th, 2020 at 7:44 PM ^
Another benefit of this model is you rotate the teams you play more evenly. Assuming 2 annual protected games, the remaining 7 games rotate amongst the other 11 teams. This allows for at least one home and home series with everyone in the conference every 4 years.
Right now there are 6 annual protected games with 3 games rotated amongst the other 7 teams.
December 10th, 2020 at 8:32 AM ^
That's a great idea. As it should be, you and us should be the top two every year; if we were in opposite divisions, we'd be playing two weeks in a row, every year (once harbaugh gets his head out of his ass and recruits more than MA and RI).
that might be the model of the future. And it goes guarantee that the two best teams play...
December 9th, 2020 at 6:24 PM ^
I have to say, if I am Northwestern? I am forfeiting the game this weekend against Illinois. I’m giving my team two weeks to heal up and practice for OSU. What’s the incentive for Northwestern to play on Saturday?
Just saying.
December 9th, 2020 at 6:33 PM ^
How about beat Illinois this week then announce covid issues next Friday and declare CO-B1G champ!
December 9th, 2020 at 8:12 PM ^
Now that's an anti-OSU conspiracy I can get behind
December 9th, 2020 at 11:33 PM ^
I'm in favor of every team scheduled to face them citing COVID issues, from here on out, forever. Ohio State will never play football again.
December 10th, 2020 at 8:35 AM ^
They would just go and find some real competition elsewhere.
December 9th, 2020 at 9:16 PM ^
Um. Land of Lincoln Trophy?! You don't want the Fightin' Lovie Smith beards cruising around a vacant city like Chicago for even a minute. That's incentive enough for me.
December 9th, 2020 at 6:30 PM ^
Can you imagine if they put the PSU-MSU winner in that game?
December 9th, 2020 at 6:31 PM ^
Cmon, Mildcats. Give em a game so the CFB committee locks in Florida or A&M.
December 9th, 2020 at 7:05 PM ^
No way... I would love to see OSU’s secondary try to stop Alabama’s passing attack. It will be a freaking blood bath and I will enjoy every second of it.
December 9th, 2020 at 8:25 PM ^
agree with you about bama torching OSU.. literally replacing mostly 3rd round WR's that indiana had with top 20 picks on bama's roster and they will get pummeled.
But last time i said that i was told i was an xbox playing nerd in my parents basment and a typical michigan arrogant fan for saying bama would torch OSU lmao...
hope that dumbass shows up in the thread
December 10th, 2020 at 8:35 AM ^
I wasn't that dumbass, but I don't mind going against Bama, Clemson or ND. It's true, they might be able to torch us as our defense isn't the same as last year, but I'll take that chance every year as long as I'm making the playoff. Can't win it without first getting in....
December 10th, 2020 at 11:28 AM ^
This comment gives me hope and faith.
December 10th, 2020 at 2:29 PM ^
I'd rather NOT see OSU in the playoffs at all. So, I'm pulling for a Northwestern miracle. And that's what it would take -- but hey, they've got a MUCH better shot at it than we would have had, that's for damn sure.
December 9th, 2020 at 6:35 PM ^
Fuck Ohio!
December 9th, 2020 at 6:41 PM ^
How sweet would it be for Northwestern to bite them in the ass and beat them. One can only dream.
December 9th, 2020 at 6:49 PM ^
The OSU speed will overcome
December 9th, 2020 at 11:35 PM ^
Can you imagine Pat Fitzgerald's celebratory behavior on the sidelines if this happened?
December 10th, 2020 at 3:01 PM ^
Ha! I can only imagine MINE, at home.
December 9th, 2020 at 6:49 PM ^
How many B1G Championship games for JH ?!
