Cade is Tate Forcier +++. All about it
November 22nd, 2020 at 12:41 AM ^
Hot take maybe but Cade might be the best Qb since Henne. Ok maybe since Rudock. Kid has looked good. His 1 drive in decent weather before today was good. Put the team on his back today.
November 22nd, 2020 at 1:01 AM ^
Opened this thread to say the exact same thing. Hopefully one of the “+” is classroom performance.
Other positive-only thoughts. Nice to see All be used and actually catch the ball. Great to see Johnson continue to grow toward being a true outside receiver threat. Hopefully his emergence will open up some more opportunities for Ronnie Bell. If DPJ had played with the same effort as Bell he would have been a 1st-round pick - his blocking and fight for every last yard sets the bar for everyone else on offense.
November 22nd, 2020 at 2:24 AM ^
I wonder if it's just easier for All to catch McNamara's throws compared to Milton's. The former players both looked very sharp. I hope Milton keeps working on his game. He's got a lot of promise, but too many flaws to be sustainable.
Regarding Bell, couldn't agree more. He scrapped for everything, and will probably be something like +8 on the ground in UFR. We gotta get that guy some turf shoes!
November 22nd, 2020 at 8:36 AM ^
Every time Milton threw a pass I was genuinely concerned a receiver was going to be broken in half — guys were just jumping up to make catches over the middle over and over again. Unless they were opposing LB’s and it was right on their chest.
November 22nd, 2020 at 7:28 AM ^
Bad comparison...
He looks like a better version of shea without the fucking panicking in the pocket
November 22nd, 2020 at 10:14 AM ^
I think Cade looked awesome. My biggest worry about him is that I thought John O’Korn looked great in his first game action against Purdue. That’s the BPONE point of view.
My only frustration with the offense once Cade entered the game is that they took the ball out of his hands too much - especially in overtime.
November 22nd, 2020 at 12:03 PM ^
When he was making those side arm flicks to find guys....that’s when i was like “oh he’s a ball player”. That’s great awareness and quick thinking. Excited for Cade
November 22nd, 2020 at 12:06 AM ^
Say what you will, and this definitely isn’t a good team, but Cade showed guts tonight
November 22nd, 2020 at 12:06 AM ^
Taking me back to the good ole rich rod years
November 22nd, 2020 at 12:33 AM ^
I was going to post that in the defense thread.

Jekyll and Hyde tonight. But we found our man at QB

The fact that McNamara couldn't close it out in regulation and needed 3OT against Rutgers means the QB competition is back on.

November 22nd, 2020 at 12:20 AM ^
Is that really Cade's fault? Some of that run up the middle crap didn't put the ball in his hands enough. He had a 75% completion rating .... they should of let him throw it far more at the end.
Dude was LIGHTS OUT good! If he played all game (started) and played like he did we would have likely scored at least 2 more TDs and there would NOT have been overtime. Are you really saying you think there is a comparison between the two QB's after tonight? I know it's one game but he looked calm and the offense flowed much better and he had touch.
He played an excellent game IMO.
Edit: Ok .. I see what you did there now .... =)
November 22nd, 2020 at 12:22 AM ^
I think you missed his attempt at sarcasm.
November 22nd, 2020 at 12:27 AM ^
Ahhhhhh and so I did. Thank you sir. =)

Ronnie Bell needs new cleats

Double post
November 22nd, 2020 at 12:06 AM ^
Cade McNamara saved the coaches' asses today. Let Warde know that this shit coaching job is ridiculous and you won't buy another ticket if Harbaugh is still coach next year. He apparently doesn't know this based on reporting. I never contacted the AD regarding rich rod or hoke because they clearly understood what the problem was.
November 22nd, 2020 at 12:33 AM ^
people who root for their own team to lose are the real losers
November 22nd, 2020 at 12:48 AM ^
When did I root against the team?
November 22nd, 2020 at 11:26 AM ^
No kidding. I’m rooting for this team and just as much for Harbaugh. This whole Harbaugh hate is getting ridiculous. Brown needs to go and we need to find a way to bring back Partridge as the D coord. Harbaugh didn’t forget how to coach, he just needs to find it again.
November 22nd, 2020 at 12:07 AM ^
Cade and Hassan. Roll with it.
November 22nd, 2020 at 12:11 AM ^
No question.
November 22nd, 2020 at 12:57 AM ^
Agree with that mostly, but Evans looks good and crisp everytime he has the ball. Feels like he needs 7-8 touches per game.
November 22nd, 2020 at 1:44 AM ^
Chris is our most explosive player in space. Hassan’s ability to move a pile is special. Cade is simply a living legend.
November 22nd, 2020 at 12:07 AM ^
“So Jim, with Cade’s performance tonight does that mean he’ll be the starter next week?”
”Uh, well, of course Cade did some good things tonight. But, you know, we got a week of practice ahead of us and, uh, we’ve got things to work on. So, uh, we’ll have a QB competition and we’ll just have to see how it all plays out leading up to Northwestern on Saturday.”
”Um, coach, you play Penn State next week.”
”Oh, right. I meant Penn State.”
November 22nd, 2020 at 12:07 AM ^
I mean, this result is even more reason to get rid of Harbaugh. Offense is absolute dogshit with Milton. The very second Cade comes in, it’s speed in space, easy yards, easy throws, running game opens up. I mean what in the actual fuck is Harbaugh doing?
November 22nd, 2020 at 12:12 AM ^
Ooops, posted in the wrong spot.
November 22nd, 2020 at 12:21 AM ^
When the broadcast camera would cut to the sideline Gattis LITERALLY had his hands in his pocket, standing completely upright like he was just observing.
I can't help feel like Harbaugh has completely over-ridden Gattis, and I don't think that's a great thing.
November 22nd, 2020 at 1:41 AM ^
Uh, no.
On at least one sideline shot (after a timeout iirc), it was clear that Gattis was the one giving instructions while Harbaugh listened. McNamara and Milton were huddled around Gattis.
But I guess people will see what they want to see.
November 22nd, 2020 at 12:09 PM ^
Yeah i agree with you. This is his offense , he just didn’t have a qb to run it.
my view of Gattis is a bit higher now. The offense was loose and going.
November 22nd, 2020 at 12:59 AM ^
Seems like Jim is super organized and knows the schedule! ermmm.... I mean knows how to choose a starting QB?
Jesus.
November 22nd, 2020 at 1:04 AM ^
“I thought Cade played a heck of game. He really gave us a spark when we needed it Joe did some good things too. We told the guys last week that there’s open completion for every position on the field. We’ll continue to evaluate things this week. The guys that show up wanting to be better than the day before... wanting to be better the next... that’s the guys who are going to play. But yea, Cade played a heck of a football game. We’ll enjoy this win tonight and get right back to work and just continue to evaluate all the positions. “
November 22nd, 2020 at 9:10 AM ^
Succinct and to the point. WTF is Harbaugh doing?
I feel sorry for Joe. He looks like a pure stud on the sidelines. Poor Joe has poor qb instincts; he doesn't make reads, throws wild and uncatchable balls, and doesn't manage the team on the field-- he certainly gets no help during games from M's disjointed sideline, the lack of offensive tempo and its deer in headlights head coach's play-calling and game strategy decisions. Nice end of half quick play drive.
November 22nd, 2020 at 12:07 AM ^
Looks way different series to series. I think Gattis called most of the game and Jim took over in OT.
Quick passes, Evans 1 on 1 with an lb? Who caller that?
50/50 chance Cade starts next week
November 22nd, 2020 at 12:14 AM ^
I agree, no way Gattis calls run after run after run in overtime like that. We were throwing and running all over them until we went turtling.
November 22nd, 2020 at 12:34 AM ^
THAT is what HAS to stop. It’s like the basketball player playing hero ball. It’s not good for the team and most of the time you’ll lose.
November 22nd, 2020 at 8:31 AM ^
That is what I just don’t understand. Why stop what is working? Why would Harbaugh want to do that? He was a QB!!! Cade came in and was throwing darts and guys were getting open. It also opened up the run game. Then in OT, they went right back to ramming it into the line. Why would they switch back to what wasn’t working? It just doesn’t make any sense.
November 22nd, 2020 at 12:09 AM ^
We found our quarterback. How in the world did Harbaugh think Milton was the better q.b. If Milton starts next week Harbaugh needs to be shot in the head.
November 22nd, 2020 at 12:46 AM ^
I think michigan has had enough attempted violence against state employees for one year, thanks
November 22nd, 2020 at 1:12 AM ^
Well just remember Bill Belechik thought Drew Bledsoe was better than Brady, Bill Cowher thought Tommy Maddox was better than Big Ben, nobody thought Kurt Warner could play etc. Sometimes you just have to go with the guy who shines on Main Street instead of State street. Let’s hope the coaches see this going forward
November 22nd, 2020 at 2:23 AM ^
Bledsoe was better than Brady at the time, even the biggest Brady fan I think can admit his first Super Bowl he wasn't exactly spectacular. He managed the game, and from then on Belicheck went with Brady so idk what you mean there.
November 22nd, 2020 at 7:22 AM ^
The Belichick analysis of Brady/Bledsoe is significantly different than that. He kept Brady as a fourth quarterback as a rookie. Nobody does that. He seriously considered starting Brady over Bledsoe and his $100 million contract at the beginning of Brady's second year. When it came to choosing the starter in the first Super Bowl, after Bledsoe led them to win the AFC championship game when Brady was hurt, he chose Brady.
November 22nd, 2020 at 11:18 AM ^
What a dumb fucking thing to say. Go away.
November 22nd, 2020 at 12:10 AM ^
There is hope for the future with this offense.
November 22nd, 2020 at 12:14 AM ^
It’s bizarre how much better Cade has been, but he didn’t win the job this week or in the off season. The coaching staff must be lost...and then the overtime play calling was also pretty bad. Idk. I prefer winning, but it’s just strange
