Who cares.Game thread.

With face mask being such a drastic 15 yd penalty only now I wish they'd look up on replay for a quick 5 seconds to determine that the defender just grazed it and not call those types of penalties but Hey that just makes too much sense for that to happen.

OSU always gets the calls in their favor. Btw, who are the officials in the OSU game?
November 21st, 2020 at 1:17 PM ^
Agreed, they always seem to get the sweet calls.
Not sure who's reffing this game but they all suck, especially the ones who admit they are OSU fans or Pat players on the butt for encouragement during the game.

Missed obvious block in the back on Olave on 2nd OSU TD.
November 21st, 2020 at 1:29 PM ^
I thought Indiana's DE was being held too, allowing Teague to get to the edge.I was a little annoyed 1) they weren't called 2) the announcers didn't even mention it.
November 21st, 2020 at 2:09 PM ^
To add insult to injury, those announcers are such OSU slapdicks, I just turned off the sound. They went on and on about how the forward pass by Penix when his hand got hit by Harrison was actually a fumble. They kept at it even after the refs upheld the call of an incomplete pass. OSU so obviously gets favorite treatment from the Big Ten officials it's disgusting.
November 21st, 2020 at 6:37 PM ^
You think Gus and Klatt are OSU cronies?!
They're not.
November 21st, 2020 at 1:23 PM ^
Illinois @ Nebraska --- first play of the game, UNL QB McCaffrey (1) when he is beyond the line of scrimmage, (2) throws an incomplete sideways pass that clearly also goes forward by 1-2 yards.
Refs rule it a fumble, no flag was even thrown. Illinois ball! And it wasn't even reviewed!
November 21st, 2020 at 1:38 PM ^
If Nebraska was coached by anyone but Scott Frost I'd feel bad for them but they're not and I don't.
November 21st, 2020 at 2:04 PM ^
UNL, although geographically accurate, is not a thing.
November 21st, 2020 at 3:14 PM ^
I'm confused ....... is there a joke I'm missing here?
November 21st, 2020 at 4:07 PM ^
I now live in Nebraska, and locally the 3 University of Nebraska system campuses are referred to as UNL (Lincoln), UNO (Omaha), and UNK (Kearney). If you just say University of Nebraska it’s assumed you’re talking about the Lincoln campus.

Yeah maybe someone smarter than me can explain why they cant pay the refs to be full-time employees. The avg college game has more commercials than NFL games. And college kids arent making millions. Except our dipshit coahes.
November 21st, 2020 at 1:56 PM ^
Full time employees to work 3.5 months/year? Sign me up!
November 21st, 2020 at 2:42 PM ^
They could have the refs doing other things during the rest of the year. Like, I don't know, learning the goddamn rule book.
To be fair, the length of the season is an issue, but at the same time with the amount of money involved in the game both the NCAA (or more likely the individual conferences) and the NFL need to improve their refereeing.

As long as OSU makes the playoff, then in the eyes of the Big Ten the refs are doing a good job.
November 21st, 2020 at 1:39 PM ^
Completely agree. I would like to hear how it wasn’t targeting on the last IU fumble.
November 21st, 2020 at 1:40 PM ^
Eye gouge the refs during the Michigan vs psu game.
That might fix their wagons.
Go Blue.
November 21st, 2020 at 1:46 PM ^
I'm surprised so many people still haven't seen the side angle replay where the Purdue player clearly pushed off on the defender. Weak call probably, but it happened and it was called.
Secondly I assume you're crying about OSU getting the benefit of a few calls? Because IU had two fumbles in OSU territory that were not called. So if anything OSU is getting screwed at home.
Neg away, just calling it like it is.
November 21st, 2020 at 3:20 PM ^
awww, so many haters, fucking pathetic.
November 21st, 2020 at 1:59 PM ^
This has been a really poorly officiated game this far, but I don't see anyone here mentioning Wade's forced fumble no-call in the 1st and the failure to overturn Penix's fumble before his arm started going forward. This crew is an equal opportunity mess.

Sometimes this fanbase is insufferable. It's always the refs fault.
Maybe they are just better and some bad calls go both ways through the course of a game.
November 21st, 2020 at 3:22 PM ^
yep, bunch of babies can't see past their hatred.
November 21st, 2020 at 2:58 PM ^
that's why the most competent official has to be in the booth; not some 80 yr old retired dude. if there is any doubt hit the damn buzzer and take 10 seconds.
November 21st, 2020 at 3:21 PM ^
lol, you're +2 saying the same thing I said and I'm -2. our fanbase sucks sometimes.
November 21st, 2020 at 4:02 PM ^
Final stats showed OSU called for 3 penalties for 35 yards and Indiana 2 penalties for 30 yards.
I saw three OSU penalties declined by Indiana. Not exactly lopsided.
More importantly OSUs pass defense looks vulnerable. Indiana rushed for negative yardage though.

Officiating is hard but how they continue to screw up obvious replays every year is embarrassing.
November 21st, 2020 at 2:37 PM ^
Next level stuff happening today. The refs were not satisfied just missing calls on fumbles, so they escalated to causing fumbles. It worked! OSU extended to 28-7 immediately.

Add the Wisconsin northwestern crew to the list. The PI calls against UW are ridiculous
November 21st, 2020 at 5:16 PM ^
B1G officiating is shit all around. This feeling among many other fan bases that OSU gets all the calls is unfounded. It's natural to feel as if only your team is getting screwed. You read any OSU game thread on an OSU forum and there are around 10 calls the fans insist were blatantly against OSU.
November 21st, 2020 at 5:36 PM ^
The announcers salivating all over Osu covid made me turn it off.
