I've seen a couple of bowl projections with us playing LSU or Auburn
This is the first post that I've created here so, thank you for the upvotes. Now, please don't beat me up when I say that I'm not expecting huge things for our team this year. With that said, I'll be happy playing in a January 1st bowl against someone like LSU or Auburn. I believe those are beatable opponents and getting a win to finish the season would set us up nicely for the 2021 season. We should have a ton of players returning and we'll get tOSU at home and they'll have a new QB and a bunch of other new faces. To me, though, we gotta find a way to finish the season on a winning note by beating an SEC team in a bowl.
How about it?

Hopefully your last hawt take post.

Huh?
October 5th, 2020 at 6:02 AM ^
It's a tough crowd. Here's a +1.
October 5th, 2020 at 6:02 AM ^
Huh?
This response has as much probative value as your OP.
October 5th, 2020 at 8:07 AM ^
I love bowl predictions for teams that haven't played a game yet.
October 5th, 2020 at 9:17 AM ^
....and did they also predict which of our top players will not be playing in this meaningless bowl game???
October 5th, 2020 at 5:51 AM ^
Well, let’s chill out until we see Cam Newton JR take a few snaps as a starter first.
October 5th, 2020 at 9:25 AM ^
Is Cam Newton in the same league as Cam Newtown?
October 5th, 2020 at 5:51 AM ^
Not beating LSU this year, Auburn would be an upset for us.
October 5th, 2020 at 6:04 AM ^
And you base this on watching LSU lose at home to Miss St (who then lost at home to Arkansas) and Auburn look way overmatched against Georgia, all while not having any idea what this Michigan team looks like yet?
October 5th, 2020 at 9:34 AM ^
That's almost as crazy as thinking Milton is some godsend based off of him beating out another backup QB based off of his 47% career high school completion percentage and some practices without pads.
October 5th, 2020 at 10:20 AM ^
Who said he was a godsend? Or even insinuated that???
October 5th, 2020 at 4:47 PM ^
Press that covers Michigan football. There were maybe 3 days between the time when people found out McCaffrey wasn't on the team and the time that people started comparing Joe Milton to Newton and Vince Young.
October 5th, 2020 at 1:23 PM ^
Right. Remind me who here has referred to Milton as a "godsend", or any other wildly positive descriptor you want to use. I'll wait.

Here is an article I read this morning that has about as much predictive value as a bowl prognostication in early October.
“Oct 5, 2020 - An unexpected package could arrive, possibly shipped from far away. The circumstances could be rather strange. Friends or relatives that you might not expect could suddenly call or text, and you could an hour or more catching up. This can be very gratifying, Aries, but don't wear yourself out. You’ll have a good time no matter what you talk about.”
October 5th, 2020 at 7:30 AM ^
I'm an Aries. Thank you for this. Now I can be ready for anything.
October 5th, 2020 at 6:33 AM ^
We were also projected to play 12 games at the beginning of this year.
October 5th, 2020 at 7:02 AM ^
Read post. Would not recommend.
October 5th, 2020 at 8:46 AM ^
How many stars?
October 5th, 2020 at 7:12 AM ^
Bring. It. ON!!!
October 5th, 2020 at 7:14 AM ^
I'm always a fan of beating an SEC team in a bowl game!
October 5th, 2020 at 7:49 AM ^
I'll help you out pal. When posting a forum topic people are looking for likely some new and/or relevant news or possibly some analysis of something new they haven't seen before. While your information may be new, it would be considered a hot take because we haven't played a game yet, so no one really knows how good UM will be yet. Some people may be interested in discussing that, but as you've seen most probably think it's too early and/or too speculative to be topic worthy. So, people are probably not very interested in reading about a bowl projection before we've played a game yet. Don't take it too hard. Most people's first posts are not great.
October 5th, 2020 at 8:05 AM ^
All true but my helpful advice would be that a source for these alleged projections is required. A link is highly desirable.
October 5th, 2020 at 8:42 AM ^
I remember my first post.... No I don't actually. I have no idea what my first post was about.
October 5th, 2020 at 11:39 AM ^
I'm pretty sure your first post was about the earthquake in Haiti. You didn't preface it with 'OT' and you were mercilessly downvoted.
I upvoted you just to be a contrarian.
October 5th, 2020 at 8:49 AM ^
Nice of you.
October 5th, 2020 at 9:20 AM ^
Speak for yourself pallie. Even though I have no fucking idea what it was about im pretty damn sure my first post was EPIC!!!
And yeah, other than that mistake your advice is 100% spot-on. Most people here don't like hawt taeke threads when there actually is stuff to discuss (hence the snowflake threads), even less so when it's 100% pure speculation.
October 5th, 2020 at 7:51 AM ^
I just gotta say that being 0-0 is not a bad position to be in right now.
October 5th, 2020 at 8:35 AM ^
Undefeated so far!
October 5th, 2020 at 8:35 AM ^
Haven’t won a game yet!
October 5th, 2020 at 9:15 AM ^
Those big ten teams ain't played nobody, pawl
October 5th, 2020 at 7:54 AM ^
based on the resume's of the respective teams so far these pairings just seems like an obvious conclusion. /s
October 5th, 2020 at 7:55 AM ^
You’re a Michigan fan calling them tOSU?
Stop.
October 5th, 2020 at 11:37 AM ^
It just gives him away as a Buckeye troll. I checked his posting history. Several veiled comments where he refers to OSU favorably. A true Michigan fan doesnt do such dastardly things.
October 5th, 2020 at 12:25 PM ^
to me either tO$U or Ohio is acceptable
October 5th, 2020 at 7:56 AM ^
I think there will be two big ten teams in the play off this year and we beat Ohio State twice this season.
October 5th, 2020 at 10:05 AM ^
Pass that crack pipe my way when you get done with it
October 5th, 2020 at 8:01 AM ^
Wow. Bowl games already, really?
October 5th, 2020 at 8:14 AM ^
I've seen some things, man...
October 5th, 2020 at 8:15 AM ^
Let's grade your first ever post to figure out why the negs are overpowering the ups, shall we?
1) You titled it by saying you saw prognostications, but didn't reference anything of the sort. -1
2) You took credit for posting, and essentially demanded upvotes. -1
3) Right after asking for ups, you begged for clemency for your unsubstantiated claims of a bad team this year. -1
4) You've already given up on this team before even a single game is played ("I'm not expecting huge things"). -1
5) You give OSU the respect they ask for by using 'tOSU'. That is NOT the school's name. -1
6) It contains nothing but feelings. -1
7) Your name seems appropriate. +1
So lets add it up! 1-6=(5)! So, -5. Unfortunately, I only have one vote to give...
(EDIT: One Reco - proof read your post before posting! I always try to do so, but I sometimes miss things - including on this post, two edits on it already!)
October 5th, 2020 at 8:44 AM ^
I knew it was a bad post from the title, so I didn't even notice he wrote tOSU when I half skimmed it. Definitely the most egregious part of the post.
October 5th, 2020 at 9:06 AM ^
To be fair, I think that the upvotes to which he referred were the ones that got him points more quickly in order to qualify to write an op.
October 5th, 2020 at 9:10 AM ^
As an engineer, I struggle with punctuation. 1-6=(5)! to me means one minus six is five factorial, which would be 120. But the parentheses confuse me. But I did take a couple business school classes to boost my GPA, and there they used parentheses on occasion to represent a negative number....but the factorial of a negative number can't be calculated....but somehow all this equals -5. I'm going to have to have a few drinks and return to this....
October 5th, 2020 at 9:49 AM ^
As a B-school grad I don't know if I should laugh or be offended at the slight of taking those classes to boost your GPA. It's my birthday today and I'm not in a bad mood so I'm going with a laugh. Nice one.
October 5th, 2020 at 10:28 AM ^
True story that, but no offense intended! A degree from UM is an enviable achievement in any discipline. I took a business school tax class at UM that was at least as challenging as any engineering class I had.
October 5th, 2020 at 9:50 AM ^
If only we could use our points to downvote a thread more than once.
The good news, and his other mistake, was to post in his own thread and give people another opportunity to neg the OP.
October 5th, 2020 at 11:13 AM ^
A real man would post many times in his own flame-out initial post and take the hits. Be good natured and show that you can take it and maybe, just maybe, everyone will be nicer the next time around.
Or not.
October 5th, 2020 at 8:28 AM ^
C'mon man, we haven't even played a game yet. We have no idea if we'll even play all 9 games yet. We have no idea if there will even be a bowl season yet.
Yet you want us all to analyze these potential matchups? No thanks.

I see dead people...
