Ah man, I remember him from back in the olden days. Such a sad thing to happen, damn.
Here's to you Blazefire. RIP brother.

Very sad news.
I serve on the traffic team at a very large church and generally 1 in 5 men have something going on personally or in their extended family. That's likely similar with the number of people that walk through the church doors. I'm sure there are a lot of us here that have somethings ranging from unpleasant to this-is-really-bad happening in our lives. Prayers to you & yours along with the Fischer (Blazefire) family.
December 30th, 2019 at 6:07 PM ^
Amen. Here's to all of you.
December 30th, 2019 at 12:26 PM ^
Rest in Peace, Eric, and Rise in Glory.
Condolences to his family and friends.
Remembered as a solid contributor and rational voice here in the MGo.

This is so sad to hear. I lost my mother this December, December 19th. It has shocked me to my core. She was 64 however and I had many memories and good times with her. A trusted friend and great mom who always calmed me down when I watched U-M and started yelling at the TV.
My condolences to his family, wife and son. The grief you are experiencing is something profound and will take time to work through. My heartfelt prayer of comfort for you in this time. Know that he is no longer in pain from this condition.
December 30th, 2019 at 8:39 PM ^
Prayers for you, too, bro.
December 30th, 2019 at 12:29 PM ^
This is just awful to hear, I will say a prayer for his family.
December 30th, 2019 at 12:32 PM ^
That is horrible news. Is he the one who made the cartoons?
December 30th, 2019 at 3:34 PM ^
...and he has a profile in the blog HOF too.
I met him once - very nice guy indeed. Very tragic news.

Sucks to lose one of our own. Peace and blessings to his family, heaven is gaining and MgoBlogger so it is definitely a better place with Blazefire there.
December 30th, 2019 at 12:35 PM ^
This is awful news. He was one of the old-timers; an MGoMember who always had the fun that this site is supposed to be at the heart of his posts.
Prayers for him and his family.

Awful news. He was quite young and he use to post more often over a decade ago.
December 30th, 2019 at 12:38 PM ^
Awful. I often wonder who else from the blog community who no longer post may have left us.
December 30th, 2019 at 12:47 PM ^
I often wonder the same thing....RIP to him and condolences to the family.

I have the feeling that I won't live to see another victory over OSU.....
(I'm being serious.)

Awful news. He was quite young and he use to post more often over a decade ago. I have know idea if users we have not heard from in a while have passed on to that big stadium in the sky or just got tired of Michigan never reaching that elite team status and have just stopped posting on the blog. We should have a mgoblog Posthumous page (for those we know have died). My wife said she will let everyone on mogblog know when the grim reaper cuts me down, if anyone even cares?

Rest in peace

That profile does not seem like it was written by a 26 year old. Very cool. I could not piece together anything that coherent at that age, not even now.
Man, 35 is young. RIP, Blazefire. God Bless your cotton-pickin' maize and blue heart.
December 30th, 2019 at 1:49 PM ^
Now, you couldn't get me to say "Go State" if you threatened me with, well, whatever it is that they threaten people with to get them to be State fans in the first place.
Long live Blazefire!

thanks for posting that 1974.
looks like he stopped posting on 8/22/16. i wonder if there was something in particular that happened. very sad news.
and we should do profiles. i tried to start that up years ago and coordinate with justin but he was transitioning away from here and unfortunately we don't hear from him for years at a time now either.
December 30th, 2019 at 12:41 PM ^
Did a search, found Six Zero's profile of him. Here.
Edit: 1974 beat me to it. I miss those Six Zero profiles.

Jesus that's sad. 35 is way too young. I was about the same age as his son when my dad died, so this hits a little close to home. I hope his widow is as strong and kind as my mother is.
RIP Blazefire.

This is awful. I never met him, but it still feels like a member of the family has passed.
