Ohio feels disrespected
November 20th, 2019 at 11:33 AM ^
Well there's 30 seconds of my life, and 10 IQ points, I'll never get back.
November 20th, 2019 at 11:41 AM ^
This could be the Barstool Sports tagline
November 20th, 2019 at 11:34 AM ^
If Meyer was not employed with Fox and on that show, OSU idiots would not prefer that over GameDay.
November 20th, 2019 at 12:18 PM ^
Not true at all, ESPN, who owns the television rights to the SEC and ACC barely talks about the B1G, FOX owns the B1G television rights so we're going to support those who support us
November 20th, 2019 at 12:26 PM ^
ESPN also televises the playoff, and OSU has one of the largest fan bases in the country.
November 20th, 2019 at 12:40 PM ^
If you need more support...
BUY A JOCK STRAP BITCH!
November 20th, 2019 at 12:49 PM ^
Or use one of Zach's ball lifters.
November 20th, 2019 at 12:50 PM ^
Or go raid Zach Smith's private collection of "lifters".
November 20th, 2019 at 3:38 PM ^
You'll probably find Urban in there deleting texts.....
November 20th, 2019 at 11:37 AM ^
Brief summary?
November 20th, 2019 at 12:29 PM ^
ESPN has been in the tank for the SEC, and Ohio feels like that slights them.
They're not wrong. And I hate Buckeye everything. So, I feel like I should hate on this.
But I also hate ESPNSEC bias.
November 20th, 2019 at 5:53 PM ^
I don't think their SEC bias has negatively impacted OSU one ounce.
November 20th, 2019 at 6:49 PM ^
They also have 2 rather prominent Buckeyes on their coverage herbie and Galloway, no way in hell those two ever allow their buckeyes to be criticized.
November 20th, 2019 at 11:37 AM ^
Barstool. Nope.
November 20th, 2019 at 1:02 PM ^
Barstool is the "trendy" thing to hate on mgoblog. If you want to get upvotes here, just talk about how much you don't like Barstool.
November 20th, 2019 at 1:18 PM ^
Just for the record, and in full transparency, I down-voted you, but hear me out. It is all in the name of science. If I bias your theory by breaking a single window.....
November 20th, 2019 at 1:33 PM ^
Lol, it's cool.
November 20th, 2019 at 4:09 PM ^
I've read some of the stuff on barstool sports. It's basically loud people saying stupid and "edgy" things. No thanks.
November 20th, 2019 at 11:37 AM ^
If you run thru 11W, the comments are usually about how stupid (fill in the blank) is. If you're a coach, a ref, an analyst, another team, or a sportcaster who doesn't become a syncophant for the team you are lambasted. Objectivity is lacking and that forum reads like a 4th graders essay. Once in a while you will see something well written, but it is rare. The worst is "Blu Fan" who kisses OSU butt and tells them how good they are. Nobody disrespects the team because their team is strong. They need to figure out, (on their own) what is being disrespected.
November 20th, 2019 at 1:11 PM ^
I think 11W provides really good factual updates about the team. But some of the posters go really overboard with their enthusiasm and their disrespect of certain teams, players and media people. So I skip over a lot of that nonsense.
However, since I visit several team boards, I can say that OSU boards are not unique in doing this. I've also noticed that being overly successful does tend to bring out the "asshole" in most of us.......
November 20th, 2019 at 3:37 PM ^
He ain’t wrong
November 20th, 2019 at 8:53 PM ^
They have guys who run the site like Ramzy who pretend to have scruples until it's their program or their coach. This isn't necessarily unique as we all have tribal inclinations, but it is disappointing, especially when it's so obvious.
November 20th, 2019 at 11:37 AM ^
Gee, I wonder why they'd rather listen to Fox. Who commentates over there now, I wonder?
November 20th, 2019 at 11:40 AM ^
ESPN is probably working to bring in Jim Tressel as their on-set guest.
There can be dueling Buckeye "Gods" at dueling pre-game shows.
November 20th, 2019 at 11:38 AM ^
ESPN is biased against OSU which is why.......they're #2 in the country and heading to Columbus to highlight an OSU game.
hmmmmmm
November 20th, 2019 at 11:41 AM ^
They're idiots. Perhaps they don't realize that all they need to do is win the rest of their games and they're in the playoff. There won't be any bias whatsoever against them.
November 20th, 2019 at 11:44 AM ^
Anger over an SEC bias? If these OSU fans are just realizing this now as opposed to 20 years ago, I don't know what else to say.
Maybe they're suffering from the same "memory loss" that Urban claimed to suffer from last year.
November 20th, 2019 at 12:00 PM ^
It's funny how they complain there's an SEC bias against Ohio State when Ohio State is basically the Big Ten's SEC program.
November 20th, 2019 at 1:15 PM ^
There wasn't an SEC bias 20 years ago. SEC success started in 2006 and went into overdrive when Alabama took over the sport.
ESPN CFB business model is tied to the SEC. So they absolutely should have an SEC bias. There's no law that suggests they have to be "fair and balanced".
November 20th, 2019 at 11:42 AM ^
"And honestly, forget the dishonest and immoral way that ESPN covers Ohio State football, the fact that Urban Meyer is going to be [at the Big Noon Kickoff Show] means that EVERYONE is going to go to that one."
lmao
November 20th, 2019 at 11:45 AM ^
Barstool in general is trash but that “article” was so cringe.
November 20th, 2019 at 1:04 PM ^
Except the gambling aspect from Barstool. It never gets old watching Dave, Big Cat, and Marty Mush all be fucking awful at sports gambling. Actually Mush I can tell knows a little bit more about the betting market than those other two, but he also has the worst consistent luck every time and it's hilarious each time.
November 20th, 2019 at 11:48 AM ^
Here's some disrespect rooted in reality. Ohio is the wasteland between Pittsburgh and Ann Arbor.
November 20th, 2019 at 1:16 PM ^
Yep, a wasteland where Mich has gotten an incredible number of its best players thru the years....
November 20th, 2019 at 2:26 PM ^
The fact that the state itself is a wasteland doesn’t mean that there can’t be good football players in it
November 20th, 2019 at 3:00 PM ^
Logical thinking is frowned upon in the wasteland.
November 20th, 2019 at 11:56 AM ^
Who cares what those ignorant, pig farmers feel about ESPN. If they didn't have such an easy schedule, maybe rational, impartial people would have a higher opinion of them.
November 20th, 2019 at 12:07 PM ^
Now I'm not defending those pigfuckers, but who has Alabama played? Exactly one good team and they lost. Georgia lost to an unranked team, and Clemson, who has also played no one, almost lost to unranked UNC.
Their schedules are Charmin soft.
November 20th, 2019 at 1:23 PM ^
Now I feel sorry for pigs.
November 20th, 2019 at 11:57 AM ^
F Barstool but thanks
November 20th, 2019 at 12:01 PM ^
“I mean I could go on and on and on and on. That GameDay tweet has 375 replies of Ohio State fans telling them to stay home this weekend.”
Not ALL 375 are OSU fans, some comments are from opposing fans calling OSU idiots. Also, many of 375 replies are same OSU twitter accounts replying multiple times. So in reality, let’s say “200” OSU fans are requesting to boycott.
So yeah, 200 of OSU’s fringe lunatic fan base wants to be boycott game day.
November 20th, 2019 at 12:18 PM ^
I don't get it. Are they mad that they're #2? Mad about not getting into the playoff since 2016?
Maybe getting blown out 31-0 in their last appearance has something to do with it. lol
November 20th, 2019 at 12:37 PM ^
Not sure what you guys are confused about.
ESPN is biased towards the SEC and other organizations and it's very obvious.
They don't even try to hide it.
Follow the money and that's what ESPN promotes.
So since ESPN has much influence, like the MSM, they should try harder to pretend to be fair. :|
Those fans should boycott this on Saturday.
But yeah, Fu(k Ohio.
November 20th, 2019 at 12:39 PM ^
So their complaint is that 1 out of 3 CFB shows won't be hosting in Columbus?!
So rather than boycott for something tangible and worthwhile lets boycott a "truly" first world problem.
November 20th, 2019 at 12:41 PM ^
There will still be plenty of obnoxious Buckeye fans that show up for ESPN GameDay.
November 20th, 2019 at 12:41 PM ^
I'm not clicking that link, but if Ohio fans are feeling disrespected I'm more than happy to concede that they are the cooler-poopinest fans in the whole of the U.S.A.
November 20th, 2019 at 12:55 PM ^
Ohio State and Bartsool...could two more terrible things be more made for each other though?
November 20th, 2019 at 1:03 PM ^
Doesn’t seem like boycotting something that you wish you had the support of is the most solid business move. But that’s the OSU difference.
November 20th, 2019 at 1:06 PM ^
"The fact of the matter is that ESPN has had a clear and constant hatred of Ohio State..."
November 20th, 2019 at 1:07 PM ^
Ohio State fans: y'all disrespecting us we are totally underrated... We should be number one!
Everyone else: but you are ranked number one!
Ohio State fans: we're still underrated...
Everybody else: ?
Ohio State fans: THE!!!
