Gattis leaving after year 2?
I am not big on the he said/she said rumors and all... but I thought this was interesting.
Here’s what I heard from a guy at work who has some wealthy millionaire friends around the SE mitten area, including Ann Arbor:
Josh Gattis recently had a security contractor install some stuff in his home (cameras, et al.) He specifically asked for equipment he could take with him in the event of a move.... and I quote:
“Because I’ll be out of here in 2 years anyways.”
I do believe that statement comes from his confidant belief that he’ll do a great job here, and then go on to be a head coach somewhere else. Or, if it was after the Army game and everything that entailed... perhaps there is some tension between the head coach and the young OC?
What do you think?

The lack of jort attire has made this abundantly clear. My boys have no speed in space. - Probably Josh Gattis

Nice recovery, Bandito.

Is he gonna’ run?
September 12th, 2019 at 8:37 PM ^
So your millionaire friends also install security systems?
September 12th, 2019 at 8:49 PM ^
Well not just that obviously.
They also hang flat panel televisions and install phone jacks.
September 12th, 2019 at 9:07 PM ^
What's a phone jack?
September 12th, 2019 at 9:44 PM ^
It’s a phone, Jack

You don't know Jack.

When some wild-eyed, eight-foot-tall maniac grabs your neck, taps the back of your favorite head up against the barroom wall, looks you crooked in the eye and asks you if ya paid your dues, you just stare that big sucker right back in the eye, and you remember what ol' Jack Burton always says at a time like that:
"Have ya paid your dues, Jack?"
"Yessir, the check is in the mail.

In today’s gig economy how else do you become a millionaire, you need the side hustles.
September 12th, 2019 at 9:36 PM ^
I’m pretty sure the crooks who hung my tv and installed my security system are millionaires from the ridiculous prices they charge.
September 13th, 2019 at 9:29 AM ^
The guy who installed my Ethernet charged my wife $1,200 for something I could have done for $200 if she would have just waited.
September 13th, 2019 at 10:06 AM ^
According to porn, there are ways your wife could have gotten out of such a high payment.
September 13th, 2019 at 9:48 AM ^
This logic has no place on a message board - of course they installed it - big bucks in home IT work these days.

This fanbase is behaving 20x worse after our 2-0 start in 2017.
And we couldn’t BUY a touchdown in those 2 games.

2017... tough year

Me: Man, I'm probably gonna have the worst post of the bye and mine was a hypothetical with a sarcastic title.
21runnin_WILD: Hold my points
Edit:
Side note....I just realized Yoder would've given anything for this program info and the OP gave it to the board with no compensation. Could've at least gotten a free jersey out of it.
September 12th, 2019 at 9:29 PM ^
The likes of you lecturing on behavior is lol.
September 12th, 2019 at 9:46 PM ^
My apologies.
Marvin found an Outside source, after my post.

I know the board layout is kinda confusing, I was replying to WD.
September 12th, 2019 at 10:47 PM ^
No prob. I'm sure somebody who was wondering will read it.
I don't think I even wanna know what WD could've done to supersede his contributions.
September 12th, 2019 at 10:05 PM ^
Yeah, most are the same people telling me to “trust the coaches” late in the 2013 season
September 13th, 2019 at 12:01 AM ^
Our fanbase was better behaved when were missed a bowl game two years in a row and then got blown out by Mississippi State
September 13th, 2019 at 9:44 AM ^
More cowbell?
September 13th, 2019 at 7:20 AM ^
That will happen when you're in year 5 and still struggling to form a cohesive offense. At least people could blame it on Speight still being hurt/O'Korn/Drevno that year.
September 12th, 2019 at 8:58 PM ^
You are - and listen to me VERY carefully here...
- a fucking idiot

September 13th, 2019 at 1:03 PM ^
This guy sucks, and anyone that interacts with college coaches would know that no one with serious career ambition would ever say something that could limit their leverage like "i'll be out of here in two years anyway".
I hope Gattis will be out of here in two years, because that's a good sign. But there is a zero point zero percent chance this ever happened, and even less of a chance that Harbaugh expects Gattis to stick around long term.
September 13th, 2019 at 6:25 AM ^
Thus is exhibit A on the need to eliminate the ability to edit posts after they have been commented on.
September 12th, 2019 at 8:38 PM ^
You probably need a better confidant.
September 12th, 2019 at 8:47 PM ^
He’s confidant in his confidants.
September 12th, 2019 at 9:02 PM ^
Are you confident about that?
September 12th, 2019 at 8:38 PM ^
I mean did he SEE the offense in the second half against Army? How does that shit show warrant the idea of him getting a promotion to a HC position??
September 13th, 2019 at 12:24 AM ^
I mean, two years does seem reasonable in the sense that he's either not good enough and will get fired in two years or he's good and would get a HC job after that.
I doubt many people thought he'd stay more than two years anyway. No idea if this story is true and posting it is dumb but did anything think he'd stick be here in 2021? No way, they guy is a 35-year-old attempting to climb the ladder. I hope he gives us two Joe Moorhead-esque years and becomes a HC candidate.
September 13th, 2019 at 1:12 AM ^
I had a very hard time seeing any offense in the second half of that game, but maybe that’s just me.
September 13th, 2019 at 7:29 AM ^
No one posting here has had a day where things didn’t go as planned with work, right?
They hang 70 on Rutgers and they’re great. They beat Minnesota by 45 and folks will be arrogant going into ranked teams. These are examples of the historical jerk reactions that turn Nostradamus out of couch artists.
Who watches the games just to verify their self-made prophecies for disappointment?
Is that really how others become excited and happy—starting with “they suck and they have to prove me wrong”? Starting with the end of the world and praying for the slaying of the four horsemen is an unwanted mindset.
I hope those young men and the coaches believe they can stop the apocalypse that comes with fans.
September 12th, 2019 at 8:39 PM ^
Probably said half in jest.
September 12th, 2019 at 8:40 PM ^
A guy making 7 figures is worrying about the portability of his home security system?
No wonder the offense sucked.
September 12th, 2019 at 9:11 PM ^
Lol love this comment. I wouldn't be surprised if he left after year 2, but it ain't because his home security system is portable enough to allow it.

What’s the relevance of “millionaire friends” to this story?
September 12th, 2019 at 8:45 PM ^
What’s the relevance of “truth” to this story?
Good question.
September 12th, 2019 at 10:01 PM ^
The "millionaire friends" in this story is the kind of "red herring" in a fact pattern typically seen on a law school exam. They're meant to distract you from the real issues, or at least test your ability to parse out the meaningful facts from the extraneous ones. It could also simply be a way to humblebrag some facts into the story, like the OP wants us to know he hangs with people at work who hang with millionaires and maybe the reader will perform some association into that and establish the OP as a financially successful person himself.
I'm only pointing this out because I want you to know I went to law school.
