Watching games on the Internet
My son just moved to the middle of nowhere, has no tv reception, but does have slow satellite Internet. Is there any free Internet site where he can watch the games? He's a big Michigan fan. Thanks in advance.

The free one are illegal. Reddit often posts links to illegal streams but be prepared for a ton of adware. The legal ones aren’t free. But you can’t get streaming services for like 25-50 per month. Considering that’s like 12 hours of entertainment per month, maybe more, I suggest you just pay for it.

I've used the reddit cfbstreams, especially for the more obscure games not on ESPN or fox. There are usually many options to choose from and adware is not that bad - most/many also work well on mobile devices.
The principle of it being "illegal" is a bit ridiculous also (though technically correct). Just as with traditional tv, the networks are making their revenue by airing ads, and almost all the reddit streams propagate the commercials to the viewers anyway.

Grandmastreams via reddit cfbstreams is usually excellent. He's even started posting one HQ stream and one adaptive stream, in case your connection can't handle HQ.

Any suggestions on which one(s) would be good to get all of the Michigan games (I don’t really care about the others)?

OP---why did you send your son to Bolivia?

Visit https://www.reddit.com/r/CFBStreams/ on game day, and there will be threads for every game. Make sure you have adblock, be patient waiting for ads/x'ing shit out, and never download anything.

This works perfectly. I’ve used it many times on my phone when I’m forced to

USTVNow SD streams are free. They are running a special for football season with DVR too. Works in US and overseas. It's 100% legal (I think)
I used them before switching to DirectNow. Family wanted more channels, I just wanted sports.

Maybe I'm reading this wrong, he has no TV reception but has satellite internet? So presumably he could have satellite TV as well? What am I missing? Now if it's a cost thing, that's a different thing all together that you didn't mention.

I've had pretty good luck with vipleague.se. You often have to click the link a few times, kill a couple pop-ups and wait for a 30 second ad to clear. Overall quality varies. The Reddit link is good too.

what is your stance on "illegal" streaming?...If you go this route, I would at least pony up for a decent VPN to protect yourself from snooping eyes of your IP. I use a VPN for watching movies. Personally, I have a subscription with playstation VUE. I have tried Hulu live and directv now aka AT&T Now in the past. Hulu's interface was too buggy and their price increases became comparable to typical cable prices same with direct now. Directv also overhauled their packages a few months ago. To get a decent selection of sports channels was overpriced. I like Vue. Even though they just increased their subscription by $5, I get great selection of sport channels from ESPN (all of them), Fox Sports, NBC Sports, CBS Sports, BTN, ACC Network, NFL Network, NBA Network, MLB Network, Bein, and NHL Network.

When I went to college, I just used my Mom's Comcast/Xfinity login to stream online. I was able to stream through the network apps like ESPN/ABC, NBC, and the Fox channels. In some cases I would stream through the network websites as well. CBS didn't allow that option, so I used r/cfbstreams like other people have mentioned for that.
Some networks may have changed their ways, but if not, this could be a free and legal option for your son.

Hmm, maybe you should pay attention to the games that take place in his town or in the nearest major city? This will show him what a great atmosphere an offline match can have.

When I needed Wi-Fi I decided that I will choose hardware on my own. Usually, such companies offer cheaper models at higher prices. That's why I decided to search for sites where I can read reviews and opinions on various routers. I managed to find a list of the Best wireless access points 2021 and this article really helped me to choose one which met all my needs.
