OT - Georgia’s OC Chaney goes to Tennessee
What the heck is going on in Knoxville? They not only swiped several studs at end of the first recruiting cycle, got Salomon to come, now taking successful OC’s at a big program In a lateral move?? Very odd. Either Pruitt is a slick salesman or a cheater.
Could be interesting to see if Tennessee has a solid bounce back season and relevance in SEC. Better do it fast before probation.
Another high end program where recruits are impacted significantly. Gotta think this first recruiting cycle will die down with coaching changes this rampant.

How would you cheat to get a coach?
January 8th, 2019 at 10:56 PM ^
Yeah, my wording could’ve been better. Some level of shadiness. Whether you promise something you can’t deliver, maybe allowed to come to the free hooker parties for the players lol, I don’t know. Seems fishy though. Curious what his salary will be.
January 8th, 2019 at 11:09 PM ^
How exactly is it fishy to hire a coach? This is the strangest logic I've seen. Hooker parties and broken promises the head coach can't deliver on? Just what?
Maybe Georgia just wasn't that high on him and didn't want to match UT's offer. Sometimes normal things happen. Not every piece of news requires a tinfoil hat to analyze it.
January 8th, 2019 at 11:20 PM ^
Did anyone think it was fishy when we hired McElwain?
January 8th, 2019 at 11:29 PM ^
Particularly fishy.
January 8th, 2019 at 11:34 PM ^
Huh? McElwain was fired by Florida and jobless.
EDIT: Fishy... Yep I missed it, my bad. Take my upvote you filthy animal.
January 9th, 2019 at 1:15 AM ^
Sharky, but not fishy.
January 9th, 2019 at 12:47 AM ^
It's way more fun if you do wear a tinfoil hat to analyze everything.
Have you noticed all of the commies on the board? Hmmm...

Ask Ryan Day.
January 9th, 2019 at 8:22 AM ^
Exactly. Not sure if it was mentioned here, but during the Bama/Clemson game the announcers were talking about the huge coaching turnover every year at Bama. A lot of them stay within the SEC
January 8th, 2019 at 10:52 PM ^
Big deal, Georgia doesn't have a modern offense, their rivals have passed them by, blah, blah, blah
January 8th, 2019 at 11:00 PM ^
Georgia is having a less than spectacular off season as we are.
January 8th, 2019 at 11:04 PM ^
Could be worse as their OC could have gone to 'bama!
January 8th, 2019 at 11:40 PM ^
Why can't Michigan's OC go to Bama?
January 9th, 2019 at 9:05 AM ^
That game seemed like a Pep strategy to me.
January 9th, 2019 at 10:26 AM ^
Not good enough.
January 8th, 2019 at 11:06 PM ^
I am not sure if giving a person more money would be cheating. I would accept the exact same job I have right now if they increased my pay by significant amount.
January 8th, 2019 at 11:07 PM ^
Georgia fans don't seem to be that upset over this. Seems like they prefer to keep Pittman over Chaney of the duo to continue the offense.
January 9th, 2019 at 7:09 AM ^
So Michigan should go hire pittman!
January 8th, 2019 at 11:07 PM ^
I do agree there is something fishy going on with the recruits at Tennessee.

I thought he went to Tennessee, not south Carolina???

January 8th, 2019 at 11:11 PM ^
Considering Georgia has been recruiting at a Bama tier for like 3 years now Id say their season was more disappointing than ours. Fairly certain Georgia now has the most 5 stars on their roster in CFB
January 8th, 2019 at 11:21 PM ^
Great point. We both ended 10-3. They beat UF, we beat MSU - the "rivals" nearby.
We stunk in our bowl, but no way did I see UGA getting beat by Texas and needing to rally to make it close.
UGA also lost the best QB in their state to Clemson, and the QB beat Nick by 28.
January 8th, 2019 at 11:15 PM ^
He was the Tennessee OC from 09-12. Maybe he enjoyed his time there....
January 8th, 2019 at 11:17 PM ^
Kirby Smart letting the program go to hell. Good gosh.
January 8th, 2019 at 11:23 PM ^
The fake punt vs. Bama, and the lousy play call on that fake, were Kirby's downfall this year.
If you have the snap on the fake to a guy who want to transfer to OSU, not a wise call. Blew up in his face and Kirby is no better off (10-3) than we are.
January 9th, 2019 at 9:33 AM ^
Most would say that their 10-3 record was better than ours. Neg away if you like.
January 9th, 2019 at 11:58 AM ^
Georgia has been to the conference championship game twice, CFP once, they're definitely better off than where UM is. Right now UM is a 10-15 program, GA 3-5.
January 8th, 2019 at 11:31 PM ^
In any given season, we will play only one SEC team, at most. And that would only be in the CFP or NY6 Bowl or NYD Bowl.
So anything that has them draining talent from each other is a good thing for us.

Bagmen!
January 9th, 2019 at 12:23 AM ^
It's gotta be the Skoal
January 9th, 2019 at 5:43 AM ^
If they would just pay the coaches, this crap would stop.
January 9th, 2019 at 7:25 AM ^
In comparison of Georgia to Alabama and Us to OSU ... pretty spot on. Both of us the second fiddle in our conferences by a wider margin than either wants to believe.
January 9th, 2019 at 11:25 AM ^
Well, not really. Georgia did win the SEC last year and very nearly beat Bama in the national championship game and again in the SEC championship game this year, we just got smoked by 23 in a game that wasn't even as close as the margin would suggest.
January 9th, 2019 at 8:47 PM ^
Georgia only won the SEC last year because Auburn beating Bama knocked them (Bama) out of the title game. They weren't playing Bama for the title. We would have had the a similar situation if Maryland had beaten OSU. We would've then played NU and likely won the title. I do think 2018 Georgia was better than 2018 UM, but being stuck in the same conference as a powerhouse does make everything more difficult.
January 9th, 2019 at 7:36 AM ^
This hire might put Harrison Bailey back in play for UGA and Michigan. Chaney told Bailey he would never offer him unless he changed his throwing motion. Pissed the dad off and by the time UGA did offer it was too late.
January 9th, 2019 at 9:06 AM ^
Chaney is not a good OC. Relies too much on talent and has awful red zone play calls....
Ok yeah, we're Georgia
January 9th, 2019 at 9:28 AM ^
that georgia program is falling apart.
January 9th, 2019 at 9:30 AM ^
