Purdue's Brohm meeting with Louisville
C'mon down Karlaftis
November 28th, 2018 at 12:02 AM ^
Read something Charlotte could be interested in him. From NC, thought it could be good for both sides.
November 28th, 2018 at 12:24 AM ^
It'll be Matt Campbell.
Unless it's Butch Jones.

I was going to say that. Football is about the team and if you went to a decent D1 school that has any potential to win it all, you want to coach at your school. You can make a new school your home (Bo at Michigan and not going to Texas A&M), but leaving your alma mater or not taking the opportunity to coach there is a bad sign.
Bummed for the B1G that Purdue is losing him.
Karlaftis! Karlaftis! Kar - Laf - Tis!
November 28th, 2018 at 8:35 AM ^
Matt Campbell isn't leaving Iowa State for Purdue. He's probably the biggest, young name there is right now. He'll wait for the right opportunity.
November 28th, 2018 at 9:13 AM ^
Like the BROWNS
November 28th, 2018 at 9:23 AM ^
I was just wondering why would he take a step down. That's not even a lateral move.
I'm sure if Urban Meyer quits OSU will take a hard look at him.
November 28th, 2018 at 8:14 AM ^
Does Purdue have a guy? Seriously - do they have any alum that is on a decent coaching ascendency? I have no idea, but unless they do they will always be a waypoint in somebody's career trajectory...
November 28th, 2018 at 9:53 AM ^
Kevin Sumlin.
November 28th, 2018 at 8:36 AM ^
You should hope for tOSU guy Ryan Day. At least the buckeyes won't have him. I can see Luke Fickell getting some attention too. He knows the BIG and has turned around Cincinnati in two years.
November 28th, 2018 at 8:53 AM ^
Why do you give OSU the respect of calling them "tOSU'? That is not it's name. And I'll neg you because of that alone... (It's something their alum started doing back in the 80's when introduced for NFL games on TV.)
November 28th, 2018 at 9:44 AM ^
Actually it is their official name. Plus it is better than just Ohio. I think that program has earned the respect especially 14 out of the last 15 years. Not respecting your rivals is part of the problem that the team had Saturday. The first words out of Urban's mouth was that he has nothing , but respect for UM. So many say he lacks class based on hatred of tOSU and not what urban says. Listen. Hatred yes, but also respect. tOSU owns UM. That deserves respect. Do something about it on the field. Neg all you want, but make sure you are right before you let your emotions get the better of you instead of your knowledge.
Yes. It seems the “The” was intended to help establish the university as the leading institution of higher learning in the state when it was founded and has more recently been reasserted to help distinguish it from other uses of the acronym “OSU.” The Ohio State University Library website provides the following explanation:
“Why are we called "THE" Ohio State University"?
In 1986, a new University logo was introduced in the hopes of moving away from the "OSU" symbol, which had been used since 1977. The change from simply "OSU" was said to "reflect the national stature of the institution." University officials wanted the institution to be known as "The Ohio State University,"
So it is the official name. In your classes, have you taken basic research. It would help. You embarrass yourself and UM.
November 28th, 2018 at 10:07 AM ^
I respect my rivals by calling them Ohio State University, or OSU. Not O$U of Fuckeyes or Suckeyes or Columbitches, or domestic abuse enablers, or scum of the earth, or racist shitbags, or shills for the Meyer family, or a seedy cult just slightly less horrible than Penn State. I don't call them any of those things, so if I don't call them any of those things, why would I call them tOSU?
November 28th, 2018 at 10:31 AM ^
Remember the Traveling THE? (http://edsbs.wikia.com/wiki/The_Traveling_The)
I suppose some of us can start to use "tOSU" if we're so inclined, since the Buckeyes seized it from MSU fair and square.
November 28th, 2018 at 12:43 PM ^
because it is their official name and what they want to be called. It is simple manners.
November 28th, 2018 at 10:16 AM ^
Yeah a school that sells it's soul to keep a coach as morally bankrupt as Meyer doesn't deserve one iota of respect.
November 28th, 2018 at 12:46 PM ^
Neither does a school deserve respect living not on victory, but sour grapes. Are you reading your posts with comprehension?
November 28th, 2018 at 9:36 AM ^
Yeah, Purdue could teach him a thing or two on how to handle O$U.
November 27th, 2018 at 11:49 PM ^
Michigan should offer him millions to be our OC with guarantee for a head coaching position once Harbaugh steps down
November 28th, 2018 at 12:03 AM ^
Guy is a commodity as HC and you think he would want to be an OC? Some of the things people say on this board.
November 28th, 2018 at 12:15 AM ^
For an elite institution like UM? Yeah.
November 28th, 2018 at 12:18 AM ^
Username checks out?
November 28th, 2018 at 12:20 AM ^
Michigan isn't that elite of a football school that you can expect a guy to drop down the coaching pyramid so he can wait five, maybe ten, years until Harbaugh departs.
November 28th, 2018 at 3:51 AM ^
Nor is Alabama. Ah yes, we see it so often. The hot, successful head coach who self-demotes to an OC position under a guy who is known for offense.
Is he talking about academics? Do people seriously think that's what's driving most coaches? To coach FOOTBALL at a school with good academics?
November 28th, 2018 at 9:33 AM ^
You are out of you mind.
No one on the planet turns down HC at Louisville to be OC at Michigan or any other place.
If anything OC job at Michigan is hard sell, given that Harbaugh seems reluctant to give his OC full control.
November 28th, 2018 at 12:33 AM ^
Commodity means widely available and liquid you dumbass. Please tell me you went to MSU.
November 28th, 2018 at 3:54 AM ^
/s?
That may be a specific use of it in economics, but actually no, the way he said it is fine.
November 28th, 2018 at 5:09 AM ^
To have the intended meaning, the term would be a "hot commodity."
November 28th, 2018 at 6:34 AM ^
Nope. The word hot is not needed, although it is commonly used.
November 28th, 2018 at 6:33 AM ^
A commodity does not necessarily have to be widely available, nor liquid. First, look it up. Second, apologize. Third, stop being a dick.
November 28th, 2018 at 6:50 AM ^
I'm positive that rcmb and 11w posts don't debate the correct usage of words like commodity!
The MGoBlog difference!
November 28th, 2018 at 8:38 AM ^
I hope that both of you didn't go to UM's School of Communications.
November 28th, 2018 at 9:15 AM ^
Lol. Your friend thought Brohm would go from a HC to OC and you’re coming at me because I didn’t use “hot” before commodity? Ok. Besides, you read some of the crap on here? I swear some write at a 3rd grade level.
Commodity by itself is still useful or valuable thing. However, would have been better if Hot was added, for the point I was making. Oh SanDiego, I hope you can forgive me for this huge mistake.
November 28th, 2018 at 10:15 AM ^
Go fuck yourself San Diego.

November 28th, 2018 at 12:35 AM ^
Wouldn't mind going after their Co-OC and WRs coach. He recruited Rondale Moore and another 4 star WR this year, worked with Brohm at WKU, and spent a year as WR coach out at WSU with Leach.
November 28th, 2018 at 9:18 AM ^
I wouldn't mind going after Verlander's wife.
November 28th, 2018 at 12:45 AM ^
why would he do that when he'll be paid millions to be the head coach and call all the shots at Louisville.
November 28th, 2018 at 8:39 AM ^
Plus Louisville has great "Hot Brown".
November 28th, 2018 at 8:08 AM ^
So the guy wins one high profile game at home to a team that had been severely mediocre and now we need him to replace our OC staff? Yeah, no. I'm ok with people touting their big wins but you'll have to include your losses too.
November 28th, 2018 at 10:42 AM ^
You're right. I don't see why it matters losing to Eastern fucking Michigan @ home or the anemic offense of MSU and getting smoked by... Minnesota!?
I'm saying just because someone beats OSU 49-20 doesn't mean they deserve a hall pass when they lose to the gophers 41-10.
November 27th, 2018 at 11:58 PM ^
Paging George Karlaftis... you'll look great in Maize and Blue!
November 28th, 2018 at 8:40 AM ^
Will he develop in Maize and Blue is the question. See #1 HS recruit Gary.
November 28th, 2018 at 9:11 AM ^
The Gary negs are so dumb.
Y'all saw the coaches voted him first team All-B1G right?
November 28th, 2018 at 9:53 AM ^
Have you seen who is projected as the #1 overall draft pick. There are 3 or so more DL picked to go ahead of Gary in the draft too. D. Jones from tOSU wasn't a 5 star recruit, but he made the all big ten first team as well (development?). I expected that Gary, from all the hype would be the #1 overall, but he won't be.. I didn't hear his name much on Saturday in the big game either.

Chase Winovich, Mo Hurst, Taco Charlton, quit trolling
November 28th, 2018 at 11:08 AM ^
Telling on yourself in this one. Why do we let all these trolls hang around?
November 28th, 2018 at 12:10 PM ^
Please tell me you’re trolling...
Chase Winovich, Taco Charlton, Mo Hurst, Chris Wormley, Ryan Glasgow... and you want to bitch about a 1st team all conference player who is at worst a top 15 pick, if not a top 10 lock?
November 28th, 2018 at 1:19 PM ^
Go away please
November 28th, 2018 at 1:22 PM ^
Fuck off, Sparty
