Those people would be stupid.
November 18th, 2018 at 2:29 PM ^
Thank goodness the entire ESS EEE SEE played teams that missed out on the NCAA Div II playoff instead of real opponents
November 18th, 2018 at 6:03 PM ^
Too bad style points don’t count, if they did Alabama should have dropped 20 spots for being tied at the half with The Citadel. (Yes, using “The” is appropriate in this case.)
November 18th, 2018 at 2:30 PM ^
If UCF jumps us in the CFB poll, then and only then will I start listening to "people".
November 18th, 2018 at 2:30 PM ^
Also still #4 in S&P+, which gives us a 61% chance of beating OSU.
November 18th, 2018 at 3:35 PM ^
Does S&P+ factor in refs being paid by Delany? Im just curious.
November 18th, 2018 at 2:31 PM ^
Michigan probably didn't drop because the SEC teams were playing 1-AA tomato cans and OU gave up 40 to Kansas. WSU was playing U of A...U of A is terrible.
November 18th, 2018 at 2:47 PM ^
No, the pollsters just don't really care so long as you win. OU beat Oklahoma State by one at home last week and their spot in the polls didn't change.
November 18th, 2018 at 3:31 PM ^
I honestly doubt many of them pay attention as much as you and I.
November 18th, 2018 at 2:31 PM ^
Interestingly OSU did not move up in the Coaches Poll even though West Virginia lost. I guess their luck win against Maryland didn't inspire confidence.
November 18th, 2018 at 2:36 PM ^
Maryland missing like 7 starters including the most explosive player in NCAA (Ty Johnson) and starting QB and still made OSU look like garbage on defense ,went a long ways.to people dropping OSU in the polls
If Maryland wins that game,Ohio St would be #20 ,id rather have them top 10 when we destroy em
November 18th, 2018 at 2:37 PM ^
I watched OSU and UCF games yesterday, and I think UCF is decidedly better than OSU.
November 18th, 2018 at 2:50 PM ^
They’re lucky they didn’t go down!
November 18th, 2018 at 2:33 PM ^
If we scored TDs on half the red zone attempts.the score wouldve been like 51-17
November 18th, 2018 at 2:43 PM ^
i appreciate the optimism, but as the old saying goes:
if grandma had handles she'd be a wheelbarrow.
November 18th, 2018 at 2:58 PM ^
if my aunt had a penis, she'd be my uncle
if my computer had 4 wheels, it'd be my car
if osu had a defense, they'd be a good team
November 18th, 2018 at 3:58 PM ^
If your chickens had udders they'd say "eat moar pork!"
November 18th, 2018 at 2:33 PM ^
I said this in another thread but some of the struggles we had yesterday were out of character from our team this year. I think both these polls are taking that into consideration and realize we are still a top 4 team even after the performance yesterday.
November 18th, 2018 at 2:50 PM ^
You're overthinking this. The vast majority of people who make the polls did not watch the Michigan game yesterday. They saw the score, said to themselves, "Well that's maybe closer than expected but they still won by two scores," and plugged in the same number as last week. That's it. That's one reason why the AP and Coaches polls are a joke.
November 18th, 2018 at 2:33 PM ^
You want OSU ranked #8 in the CFP rankings, but you know they won't be because they suck.
November 18th, 2018 at 2:36 PM ^
OSU will be 10 UCF will jump em
November 18th, 2018 at 2:45 PM ^
It all boils down to 3 games - UM v OSU, UM v NW and UGA v Bama. UM winning those 2 should be enough - especially if they do it convincingly. UGA has a puncher’s chance by beating Bama, but that won’t happen. Burn down the CFP if UM wins twice and doesn’t make it.
November 18th, 2018 at 2:49 PM ^
if the CFP ends up being Alabama, Georgia, NfD, and Clemson that would leave out 3 of the power 5 conferences. leaving out 3 of the P5 would hopefully cause a revolt and then an expansion to an 8 team play off.
November 18th, 2018 at 2:54 PM ^
There’s no way the B1G commissioner lets the conference miss out on CFP $$$.
November 18th, 2018 at 2:55 PM ^
While I agree this would be a long term good thing for CFP...I don't want UM to be the sacrificial lamb to make it happen.
So...Roll Tide?
November 18th, 2018 at 3:17 PM ^
It’s rolling baby.
November 18th, 2018 at 4:26 PM ^
Yeah, let the ACC take the bullet.
Go Pitt!
November 18th, 2018 at 2:55 PM ^
Army is ranked for the first time in 22 years! #23
November 18th, 2018 at 3:02 PM ^
Beat Navy.
November 18th, 2018 at 3:05 PM ^
I’m glad we didn’t drop but honestly a bit surprised.
November 18th, 2018 at 3:25 PM ^
I guess I don’t understand. We were in control the whole and game and the outcome wasn’t really ever in doubt. Why would we drop?
November 18th, 2018 at 3:50 PM ^
sorry im dumb
November 18th, 2018 at 11:11 PM ^
"In control" later in the game, perhaps. But what was it, five, six lead changes?
Didn't get a chance to play as many players as we would have liked on Senior Day, didn't get any work for whoever the backup QB is. It was good to win, but much toughter to win than it should have been.
November 18th, 2018 at 3:24 PM ^
Or hard to measure when #5 plays a team significantly worse than Indiana.
November 18th, 2018 at 4:02 PM ^
#4 is exceeding most people's expectations.
We get in the playoffs and our defense gives us a fighting chance against anyone.
If they take the rev limiter off Shea, I think our offense has another higher gear as well.
November 18th, 2018 at 4:21 PM ^
We are still #4 because even a "lackluster" performance against Indiana >> any performance against an FCS team in November.
If it was me, I would drop the entire SEC a spot just for scheduling these games in November.
November 18th, 2018 at 5:42 PM ^
I don't remember the point diff between us and UGA last week but they seem to not have changed at all.
November 18th, 2018 at 11:18 PM ^
Maybe voters figure the same thing we do - it only matters if both Michigan and Georgia win the next two games. More than likely, it will sort itself out. Michigan beats Ohio State they'll stay in for the moment, If we don't, it doesn't matter.
Beat Ohio.
November 19th, 2018 at 9:57 AM ^
Sure, we didn't crush Indiana. But Georgia played a nobody, and Oklahoma struggled with Kansas (!). Those are the only two teams that could have jumped us, and neither made a case to do so.
