Kurt Taylor transfer is official.
November 6th, 2018 at 6:48 PM ^
Sucks. Thought he had a great personality and he a chance to be a great Vincent Smith-esque type of guy. The timing is SO damned weird on these transfers, why leave now when the season is fun? I know getting into the database is important but the difference of a few weeks can't be THAT big a deal that it can't wait until after the regular season/before the bowls.
November 6th, 2018 at 6:53 PM ^
Probably wasn’t fun for him. It’s like if you work at a startup company that is killing it and you know you may get rich, but you hate your particular job/ boss/ living situation...
November 6th, 2018 at 7:41 PM ^
It would have to be like working for a start up knowing aren't going to get rich and they also don't want you there. Then you realize you are way out of your league as far as the work is concerned.

Seemed like a good kid from a strong family. It was always going to be an uphill climb for him though.
Best of luck!
November 7th, 2018 at 9:01 AM ^
Yeah, he seemed the epitome of a "try hard" good character kid, who was limited in talent. IIRC, he wasn't even the full time starter on his HS team as a senior
November 6th, 2018 at 6:52 PM ^
Before all the inevitable comments about how much this sucks, you guys can’t have it both ways. We can’t get all excited about a class of 28 recruits when we have about 15 seniors. We all know attrition is coming. It’s not going to work for every kid that comes here. Wish him well and move on. Probably 6-8 more of these coming before the spring.
November 6th, 2018 at 7:03 PM ^
I don't think the people saying this sucks are referencing losing him as a player. I think its more that Michigan is having a great season and obviously guys are unhappy enough with their situation that they want to leave. That sucks, I'm not sure there is another word to describe it.
November 6th, 2018 at 7:14 PM ^
A fair amount of those 6-8 could come from juniors who enter the draft early.
November 6th, 2018 at 7:53 PM ^
Probably 6-8 that ARENT nfl entries.
November 6th, 2018 at 6:57 PM ^
anyone want to wager at least one more RB transfers?
November 7th, 2018 at 9:22 PM ^
Who do you think it would be?
November 6th, 2018 at 7:03 PM ^
But...MineralKing said not to sleep on Kurt
November 6th, 2018 at 10:05 PM ^
Shea can't get them all right!
November 6th, 2018 at 7:07 PM ^
It’ll be interesting to see who is the main back next year. I could see them trying Evans, but not sure if that role really suits him; same with Tru. In a super small sample size, I like what I’ve seen from Turner. Seems to have a good burst but also a little bigger back. O’Maury is one I want to see emerge because he has the size and the speed.
If Shea stays, we will be fine with a deep stable of backs
November 6th, 2018 at 7:09 PM ^
Charbonnet.
November 6th, 2018 at 7:40 PM ^
Unless Charbonnet has some problems transitioning to college then I think he's the starter next season or at the very least co-starter with Evans.
November 6th, 2018 at 9:10 PM ^
charbonnet will start day one. He is the Harbaugh bell cow.
November 6th, 2018 at 7:10 PM ^
It might take a few weeks, like when David Underwood and Max Martin started over Mike Hart in 2004, but Zach Charbonnet will be the draught horse by B1G season.
November 7th, 2018 at 9:03 AM ^
Let's just hope he doesn't get a fifth star soon.
November 7th, 2018 at 11:02 AM ^
Seriously.
November 6th, 2018 at 8:41 PM ^
I get that Evan's might not be the pound it between the tackles every down type of back, but if Warriner stays around the oline could be downright nasty next year. You get Evan's behind a stud oline where nice size holes are fairly common and he could do some damage.
November 6th, 2018 at 9:13 PM ^
I really like Turner as well. Wouldn't be surprised to see him with a big role next year.
November 6th, 2018 at 9:29 PM ^
I agree. I think a lot of people are sleeping on Turner. I expect him to be #2 next year.
November 6th, 2018 at 7:10 PM ^
I tried to tell him being lazy is undefeated. Jk, good luck, seemed like a good kid, hope he ends up at a school I can root for.
November 6th, 2018 at 7:15 PM ^
Better to realize it and transfer now than wait it out all four years. This is why I don't have issues with taking a flier on a lower rated recruit. If it doesn't work out, chances are the scholarship will be open in a year or two.
November 6th, 2018 at 7:15 PM ^
I wonder if the post earlier prompted the official response. If so, pretty cool mgosleuths
November 6th, 2018 at 7:18 PM ^
People get really touchy when a kid gets processed but maybe it's what's best for the kid. During his recruitment it was said the coaches basically stopped calling, they still gave him a scholarship. It seems it was clear to the coaches from his senior tapes he didn't develop like they thought he might and tried to cut bait. He can always say he played for Michigan and maybe that's what he wanted but to transfer after a season and a half it doesn't seem like he was happy with his decision.
November 6th, 2018 at 7:19 PM ^
Next Michigan man up ....
November 6th, 2018 at 7:33 PM ^
I really hope Chris Evans learns how to hit the holes fast, running straight ahead instead of bouncing around in the backfield. If he gets through the line and in open space, he is dangerous.
Best of luck to taylor!
November 7th, 2018 at 11:06 AM ^
Agreed. Evans default mode seems to be down shift and cut. There have been at least a couple of plays this year where if he just uses his speed he is getting at least 10 - 15 more yards, but instead he opted to slow down or wait, and try to juke someone.
November 6th, 2018 at 7:38 PM ^
Alright, best of luck to Kurt, seemed like a nice kid. Can anyone expound on RB depth after this season? I'll read below, someone probably has some knowledge.
November 6th, 2018 at 7:57 PM ^
Evans, Wilson, Mason, Charbonnet and Gray.
wilson and mason will have same roles.
Evans, Gray and Charbonnet will duke it out to be the next Higdon.
November 6th, 2018 at 8:01 PM ^
Turner
November 6th, 2018 at 8:13 PM ^
And turner. Throw him in as well. Should be a full cupboard!
November 6th, 2018 at 8:18 PM ^
Samuels also right?
November 6th, 2018 at 9:18 PM ^
Technically yes, but he hasn't really impressed me so far.
November 7th, 2018 at 9:05 AM ^
On the sample size of what, three runs?
November 6th, 2018 at 9:14 PM ^
don’t rule out crouch if he comes.
November 6th, 2018 at 9:30 PM ^
I would label Crouch to the defense
November 6th, 2018 at 9:11 PM ^
gray will not be in the class.
November 6th, 2018 at 8:03 PM ^
Good luck Kurt! Hope he pulls a Thomas Rawls and goes & balls out somewhere
November 6th, 2018 at 8:12 PM ^
My last memory of Kurt Taylor was the enormous size of his biceps in a recruiting visit picture. They were unreal for a high school kid.
November 6th, 2018 at 8:52 PM ^
He'll do well at his next stop. Good luck, Kurt!
