Wishing Felton Davis III a speedy recovery

Submitted by m_go_T on October 22nd, 2018 at 11:40 AM

Obviously we all know he went down with a ruptured Achilles tendon during the first half of the game.  Even with all the hatred for MSU, I for one felt horrible watching him ride off on the cart.  The kid had (and hopefully still has) such a promising future ahead of him.

There are plenty of Spartans past and present that are easy to hate.  Despite his talent, he never struck me as one of them.  So here's wishing FD3 a speedy recovery and best of luck in the NFL draft.

This stinks for him.  I had a non-contact achilles rupture when I was 27 playing flag football and I would not wish it on anyone.  It was awful and the post surgery recovery was awful as well.

I will be rooting for him, but he will be lucky to be 100% by kickoff of the 2020 season in my opinion.

I felt terrible for him. Not sure what the state of practice is for Achilles rehabs, but I hope he gets his speed back and gets back on an NFL track.

Great post. Felt bad for the guy. Very good player. Although this board is full of homers at times, it’s posts like these that show most here are human beings with hearts unlike the scum (no pun intended) at the RCMB.

I hope he recovers from both the injury and the trauma of attending MSU. (second part is sarcasm, folks)

I did wonder about how the sparty fanz who had their fun posting a thread on who should their team injure felt when their only legit WR went down.

No kidding. That was a tough one to see.

I was actually talking to my friend on Saturday about how cool it would be if we got to "turn off injuries" like in the video games. A fully-loaded MSU team vs. a fully-loaded Michigan team would have been even more epic than yesterday's game.

Definitely hope to see Felton Davis have a great pro career.

The worst part is he has a 1 year injury recovery time.  I had a partial tear of my Achilles tendon and it was as bad a pain as I wish on anyone.  It took me about 18 months to feel like I was able to walk without problems.  Obviously, the April combines are out of the question.  You just hope an NFL GM gives him a chance to make a roster with a late round pick.  Fact is, that guy has better hands and ball skills than many NFL receivers, it was always going to be about speed with him.  I wish him well and hope he gets his chance.

Feel terrible for him. Wish him the best on his recovery and future. Him and Khari Willis are the only Spartans I don't have a problem with. Bachie was on that list until his postgame comments on Saturday.

It's such a weird thing to witness as a fan because it's all homerism and one-sided and I want them to get beat and I want them to be embarrassed, but as soon as you see his ankle pop like that; geez... something like that's going to set a kid back for YEARS if not his whole life.

I disliked him as much as I did only because he was so dangerous. Hope he recovers well and makes it back someday.

He is a good player and I hope he recovers, since he is a kid with a future. I Did not care about him waving and gloating against psu fans after he scored, of course he laid on the ground for 5 minutes “injured”.
