Go Blue at the Emmys
What,nobody watched the Emmys tonight?
Darren Criss won an Emmy and at the end of his acceptance speech, shouted out, " Go Blue!"
September 18th, 2018 at 2:21 AM ^
He need schoolin on his Go Blue!! Could use a little more volume and emphasis on the “BLUE”!!!
September 18th, 2018 at 9:03 AM ^
"He need schoolin"
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
September 17th, 2018 at 11:28 PM ^
I kinda watched until I realized they were on for 3 friggin hours. Are there really that many categories/awards?
And the emmy for best 4th lead in a dramedy about a dysfunctional family west of the Mississippi goes to......
September 17th, 2018 at 11:37 PM ^
...Lorenzo Ball!
September 18th, 2018 at 5:17 AM ^
I regret that I only have one meaningless upvote to give you. Spot on.
September 17th, 2018 at 11:38 PM ^
Kinda waiting here. Don’t leave us hanging.
September 17th, 2018 at 11:40 PM ^
He should be an honorary captain for a game. That was awesome
September 17th, 2018 at 11:40 PM ^
I don’t get Netflix so I didn’t recognize 90% of the nominees
P.S. While Hollywood celebrates people for reciting lines written for them, ESPN is re-running the Urban Meyer interview
September 18th, 2018 at 12:03 AM ^
You mean he wasn't nominated this year?! May be next year.
September 18th, 2018 at 6:36 AM ^
No, he will get nominated for an ESPY.
September 18th, 2018 at 10:35 AM ^
I thought he won everything he could in sports, no?
September 18th, 2018 at 7:21 AM ^
Same here. I didn't even recognize 90% of the shows, much less the actors.
And this was just a terrible show. My wife and I watched for about 30 minutes before asking ourselves why we were watching bad acting about apparently good acting on shows we've never heard of. That bit with Maya Rudolph and Fred Armisen was so bad.
The finale of the Kids Baking Championship and Monday Night Football were much more compelling.
September 17th, 2018 at 11:41 PM ^
F*@k Yeah!
Go Blue!
September 18th, 2018 at 12:27 AM ^
Who that is?
September 18th, 2018 at 1:04 AM ^
I think he's that Criss Angel dude.
September 18th, 2018 at 7:13 AM ^
Google, man.
September 18th, 2018 at 1:04 AM ^
I don’t know who Darren Criss is
September 18th, 2018 at 7:57 AM ^
Nobody does...
September 18th, 2018 at 1:12 AM ^
Never heard of him until now. I googled him and he looks like he could be Jon Snow's brother.
September 18th, 2018 at 7:17 AM ^
*googles Darren Criss and Jon Snow*
Nope, don't know who either of them are (apparently, Jon Snow is a fictional character from GoT, which I don't watch).
September 18th, 2018 at 2:19 AM ^
Larry David - still hilarious.
September 18th, 2018 at 1:34 PM ^
I didn’t watch the show, but after watching the clip, I thought that Rachel Brosnahan, who’s great in The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel (one of the few nominated shows that I’ve seen), was given an opportunity for what might’ve been a most memorable comment.
Larry David asks, “So, Mrs. Maisel. . . . How am I doin’?”
When Rachel Brosnahan paused before saying anything, I thought that she was about to say, “ Pretty good. Pretty, pretty, pretty, . . . pretty good!”
September 18th, 2018 at 3:34 AM ^
What's hilarious is that articles written by people who clearly have no concept of college sports are matter-of-factly reporting Criss' "Go Blue" shout as an encouragement to vote Democrat this November. LOLZ.
September 18th, 2018 at 7:58 AM ^
Seriously? So sad... But yeah, that is funny!
September 18th, 2018 at 12:34 PM ^
Yes, I saw this on several news sites today. They really believe it.
Some even linked to #GOBLUE in that context, without even checking the link.
Imagine my surprise when I clicked on the link out of curiosity and it took me to . . . a Michigan page!
It is impossible to escape politics in everything, even when it is not there.
September 18th, 2018 at 4:53 AM ^
That was so cool to see and hear! Pretty awesome he thought of that at one of his best moments as a actor.
September 18th, 2018 at 6:30 AM ^
The theater/musical theater program has pumped out some real talent. In addition to Darren Criss, I saw Mean Girls on Broadway last month and all three leads (!!!) were UM alums.
September 18th, 2018 at 8:06 AM ^
I liked Darren in Glee. Good for him.
September 18th, 2018 at 8:15 AM ^
Definitely my favorite moment ever in watching the Emmy's! Darren Criss was in Glee for years and I heard he was great in this role.
Michigan Theater department is incredible. They have the second highest number of alum (after NYU) on Broadway.
GO BLUE!!

A bunch of Hollywood types circle jerking at another award show. No thanks.
The most out of touch group of people in America next to politicians.
September 18th, 2018 at 8:33 AM ^
The Americans was robbed. Again.
September 18th, 2018 at 8:37 AM ^
If anyone watched The Assassination of Gianni Versace this year, you'd see why this guy won an Emmy. He absolutely nailed that role, and while he was pretty terrifying at times (par for the course for a portraying a serial killer), he did a phenomenal job.
I liked the OJ miniseries that FXX did a few years ago. This one was even better. The fact that Criss is an avid Michigan fan is just added gravy.
September 18th, 2018 at 8:37 AM ^
Wife was watching that for awhile, and neither of us knew who anyone was, nor what most of the nominated shows were. When he said that, at the end of yet another boring 'speech' thanking everyone, I immediately perked up and said "I like that guy!" The wife just rolled her eyes...
Other than that highlight, though, these awards shows are so hard to watch...
September 18th, 2018 at 8:48 AM ^
Good man!
My wife was watching the Emmys, wonder why she didn't tell me this little tidbit?
September 18th, 2018 at 9:18 AM ^
It was just another Saturday Night Live production. One or two funny moments surrounded by head scratching “did they think that was funny in rehearsals?” bits. Awful.
September 18th, 2018 at 11:34 AM ^
I’ve honestly stopped watching SNL. Every week it’s the same hashed out, over-used political satire blasting the current administration every chance it gets. I don’t care for the folks in power right now either, but my god is their shtick just getting old.
Sucks because I used to watch SNL all the time, and the occasional political jabs were funny. Will Farrell discussing Bush’s axis of evil is one of my favorite skits. But now political lampooning is all SNL is. And you can tell that this isn’t just about getting a few laughs. This is personal to them.
Just not that funny anymore.

I had a chance to see the Harry Potter musical when Darren Criss and his friends debuted it on campus, and I didn't go. Whoops. Awesome moment last night, he's incredibly talented.
September 18th, 2018 at 11:43 AM ^
I went, and it was awesome. I had no idea it would blow up on youtube so much at the time, so I'm really grateful I got to go. A pal of mine was in it and has now been on Broadway a few times--kind of amazing how many careers it kicked off.
September 18th, 2018 at 11:48 AM ^
I'm a big TV nerd, so I watch. But I definitely watch with my laptop and while I'm doing work/responding to email/playing games.
I don't get why people complain about these shows. Either watch or don't; you know what it is. I don't go hunting out shows I won't like so I can put myself through watching them and then complain about them.
September 18th, 2018 at 12:37 PM ^
Based on the ratings (lowest in hsitory), people are taking your advice. They're not watching.
September 18th, 2018 at 12:42 PM ^
Yep! Cool with me. Who are they really for, anyway? The networks, right? They broadcast because they can churn out better ad dollars than their normal Monday night lineup. I'm glad it's on bc it's not bad background noise, but I guess I expect nothing more.
September 18th, 2018 at 12:58 PM ^
OMG! Just went and watched a clip - that is so awesome!
Good for him on the win - loved him in Glee.
September 18th, 2018 at 1:47 PM ^
I like Jerry Seinfeld take on award shows so I missed it.
