This is NOT helping me NOT GET MY HOPES UP, Mr. SkyPanther!
44% of the picks (most recently) are to Alabama while 17% are to Michigan. Love to get Daxon Hill, but going against Bama doesn't usually work out (D'Shawn Hand, J. Harris, D. Harris, etc.)
Hand and Harris went to Bama over Michigan because the coaches were going to get fired.
Dont forget Najee...and Dee Hart though. Also wasn't Michigan a finalist for Ha Ha Clinton-Dix? And a linebacker last year....yep. That took all my enthusiasm away.

In general, I agree that recruiting battles against Bama are worse than dong punches.
But I thought we lost out on Dee Hart because RichRod got fired. We got in late on Najee, so it's no surprise he went to Alabama.

It was the Al Borgess firing believe it or not.

Can't tell if you're replying to canzior or lilpenny, but I believe Damien Harris dropped Michigan because of Borges being fired and Dee Hart dropped Michigan because of RR's firing.

Sounds familiar, I think you're right. Hand was looking at Florida and Michigan as well as Bama, but both M and FL coaches were fired at the end of the season. It was evident to see coming.
You're right, I'm getting my stud running backs UM missed out on mixed up.

Screw Alabama, its hot as fuck, it never snows, its not near the ocean and its a terrible place. The only reason anyone would consider going there is because they have a good football team. I would get sick of Nick Saban, hes a douche.

You do get what other fans say about Michigan, right? "It's cold as ice, always snows there, it's nowhere near the ocean and it's in the whitest town in Michigan. They don't win anything and their coach is a weirdo who is just looking for the next NFL job."
I can't blame kids for wanting to go to the surest thing out there if they're offered a chance. Best of luck to him, hope he goes blue.
Well it doesnt always snow here, its 80 degrees and beautiful today. We dont have ticks and huge roaches, and no, Ann arbor is not the whitest town in the state, I live in Grand Haven which im pretty sure there are more whites here than Ann Arbor.
And Fitzpatrick as well
IIRC Ha Ha and Dee Hart both went to the same high school. After Saban/Bama made a large donation to their High School they both ended up at Bama (dee hart flipping from Mich).
This means nothing.
You’re right but skypanther believes EVERYTHING he reads on twitter has to be posted here! One random guy puts in a crystal ball for Michigan and skypanther thinks it deserves 16 quotes a few pictures and some inane comments.

Can't forget about that LinkedIn profile. At least if you don't care about the random crystal ball, you can engage in some professional development.
Is that why you're reading and commenting about it?
How long until this guy announces his commitment?
We can't have a thread every time someone puts in a crystal ball for Michigan. Even if it is for a top prospect. If it was a run of crystal balls that makes it look like Michigan has become a favorite, maybe. But not for just one.
He gone to Alabama
For a guy who's under 190, Hill sure Carrie's a lot of weight in his cheeks.

Yeah was strange to see the picture of Warren rather than the 5 star Hill.
From all the reports, Oklahoma is pretty much out of it but is still sitting with a lot of CBs.
If all those CBs switch to Michigan, then I'll start to get excited (only to be depressed later on because Bama).
August 1st, 2018 at 10:43 AM ^
To be fair, I think the large percentage of Alabama predictions are simply based on Oklahoma being out of it, meaning that the 79% CB share they had as of June had to go somewhere and Bama is always the safe bet. Most insiders believe that it is a Michigan-Bama battle, without really anyone knowing which way the kid is leaning.
August 1st, 2018 at 10:53 AM ^
True. Though that share in June having to go somewhere and Alabama being the landing sport because they are always in on 5 stars is also because Bama is truly in it. Regardless as to who is in 1st or 2nd with him, a majority of those CBs going to Bama was because Bama is 1st or 2nd so I wouldn't discount them as being changed just because Bama is around.
Point being, even if Michigan is in the lead, Bama is close enough for the CBs that flipped to them to make sense.
August 1st, 2018 at 11:57 AM ^
Exactly. The writer who put in the first CB for Michigan admitted it was just a guess after Hill dropped OU. It's easier to guess Bama.

Thanks for including his linkedin, now we can network!

That link means that Skypanther has definitely visited his LinkedIn which is a whole new level of obsession. And kinda weird...

Wonder if he knows anyone in Fresno who can help a guy get a job with his shiny new Supply Chain Mgmt degree....?
And by “a guy” I mean, me.
August 1st, 2018 at 11:37 AM ^
I like the breakdown with the linkedin account and the photo, lol . Its nice to know whos making these predictions.

Always good news to get a CB, but I personally won't celebrate until he signs his NLI.
I dont think he goes blue, but I dont think it's a slam dunk for Bama yet. Our biggest ally is time, and monster recruiter Chris Hinton and company.
McNamara has been a primary recruiter here. Maybe Hill will actually follow his 3.9 intellect and go where it will be valued.
So....some unfortunate context....
There have been 10 CBs made this month, and 7 were to Bama.
The 3 CBs to Michigan were made by the two guys with the worst prediction rate, as well as Ace.
If the experts know something, Dax is headed to Bama.
