Michigan bbq recruiting
This weekend is another big recruiting for maize and blue. A lot of prospects and commits to will be on campus. Last year I think Thomas Hinton and Herron committed during weekend. Any potential or hearings of any commits that could go down this weekend? 19 or 20?
It’s Chris Hinton... just an FYI.
Maybe he's missing an Oxford comma in there? Did Charles Thomas commit at the bbq?
I believe he is referring to Charles Thomas, however Thomas did not commit during the BBQ. He committed about a month and a half before.
Oxford comma? He is missing any comma...
Yeah I realized that after I posted. I tried to tap the edit button about 50 times before I remembered...
Hopefully the weather holds up and the kids have a good time. Wasn't it at last years BBQ they had the scavenger hunt that was a huge hit the recruits?
I think the scavenger hunt was two years ago. Unless they did it again last year.
Man U v Liverpool is being played Saturday. Hopefully that shows off the stadium for them.
Damn. I thought this was going to be a thread about competitive bar-be-cuing....or maybe bar-be-cue eating.....
Bar-be-cue? I'll bring the hot dogs!!
That looks like a great steak, but to be a pedant, that's grilling, not barbecuing. Barbecue is low-and-slow cooking, like pulled pork, brisket, or ribs.
hard to find a gif of slow cooking bar-be-cue. totally agree but the big piece of meat on a grill was the best gif i could find.
Zach Harrison will be committing, provided pineapple cole slaw is served.
So this could potentially be big recruiting news (but please take this with a grain of salt since I am guessing here):
It looks like Michigan just picked up its first crystal ball pick for Daxton Hill, and I think it may have been from an OU insider (Brandon Drumm).
I am thinking this because Drumm just put in a crystal ball pick for Hill and all of a sudden Michigan has 6% of the picks (as far as I know, Michigan previously did not have any crystal balls in their favor.
again, I could be wrong, so somebody else will need to verify. If correct, however, this would be huge, as I am assuming that this OU insider is pretty plugged in with this local recruitment.
must have been the cole slaw....
I concur Holmes!
He (being Hill) hinted recently that a commitment might be coming soon which did not bode well for the Wolverines at the time given he isn't visiting until September for the SMU game. A CB from an OU insider right before Hill attends OU's barbecue is a good sign that Michigan still has a real shot in this race.
Drumm is one of the top insiders for the Sooners on 247, and he just posted that Hill is no longer going to attend the BBQ at OU- and that they may be moving on to a different top DB recruit.
Sounds like it may be a Michigan vs Bama battle then. All we need to do is get him to say "Fuck Michigan" and he is ours!
Off the top of my head?
Sainristil Flips,
Foskey drops the Blue note
Kalel stops Mullings it over and goes Blue
Ian Stewart confirms his loan to UofM football for the 2019 season
plus I hope there is a commit or two from non attendees in support.
IMO, Sanguinetti is the key foundational "get" here-for this class. He is a terrific safety and WR...and this would still allow a clear path for recruiting "Hill" and "Ford". Ike or Keegan and Harrison or Karlaftis are certainly welcome-and hold real possibilities of happening. (I see the OSU partisans are quite distraught about the status of Harrison.) DiCosmo has a more clear path to Michigan now. DeLoach remains on the radar s well as a couple of great "slot" options. These are just some of the prospects. So...who knows...lots of challenges and lots of opportunities.
I was thinking this post contained a list of recruits coming. Since it doesn't, here's one from 2 weeks ago:
That is the best (most optimistic) listing I have seen. Great to see Warren and Brevard coming-oh would that make a dynamite DT duo!!! The Morris FSU commit :) Lots of '20 and '21 prospects!
Thanks Arb. I was hoping for an updated one also.
From that list of attendees, I'd love to get commits from Sanguinetti and Sainristil
