Scroll down to the asterisks @ the bottom of the page. Seems the noon opening has been the original plan.
Granted maybe through www.michiganeventparking.com, you might be able to get in and/or on sooner.

UTL1 we arrived around 5pm and had prime parking no problem. We had a parking permit for the lot but really we were surprised how many spots were open. Part of the growing problem at Pioneer is the tent city that gets built...some folks take up two and three spots which is understandable people want to have a good time, but it sure clogs parking and 'wastes' valuable slots.

Not too sure if this post should go here but oh well, I'm new to mgoblog, but before the game on Saturday me and a friend were just walking around for about 3 hours trying to find something to do. We will be attending the UTL2 this weekend and would like to know of any ideas on what to do beforehand. Thanks!

So basically no one who plans to park a car can go to Gameday.
And if this is anything like the anal cluster that UTL1 was at around 11:55 AM, brace yourselves. Had a cop slap our car and give me the finger on the way into the Blue Lot. Things got real tense, to say the least.

Be prepared to be shut out for about four hours, then. This is exactly what happened at UTL1. Pioneer said they'd be opening up early, but the University announced (in conjunction with the AAPD/UM Public Safety) that all lots, including Pioneer and the Golf Course, would open at noon.

they announced the same thing for UTL 1. So, we left my house at noon thinking we'd be ok. What is normally a 20 minute drive, took about an hour and a half... We usually park at Pioneer. We ended up making it all the way down to Briarwood before coming back down State, and finally found a spot at Cliff Keen. The game was the best sporting event I've ever attended, but the whole parking situation really put a damper on the day. Why do they insist on creating this cluster? Why not just open at the normal time? Much less.... Cluster!

UTL1 was screwed by all the rain. AAGO and the golf course were closed. We got to Pioneer at about 10:30 and got right in. Half of the grass lot at pioneer was closed because it was a mud pit. So two huge lots were closed and one could only use half of its spots last time. As long as it doesnt rain all week long this time will be alot better.

I have parked in the same spot for over 25 years and the UTL 1 game was the only time I had to wander to find something else. Seems like ZB75 is the only other one who remembers that the rain closed the golf course and that caused a crazy chain of scrambling. As long as the rain stays away the parking will be no problem. I can't wait to destroy Dame and send them off to the horrible ACC where their strength of schedule will go to die.

Does anyone know if I can get away with parking my SUV at pioneer the night before and just walking to it when Pioneer opens so I don't have to wait in line/pay?
