Of loosing Gareon Conely. Another phenomenal athlete picked up by the coaches. I expect to see him all over the field today.

We haven't lost Conley yet. And the word "loose" means "not tight." Lose is the one you're looking for.

Yes, but loosing is commonly used to mean unfettered, to allow some slack when something is taut or tensed, or to release.

Conley was a diamond in the rough too...OSU didn't even look his way before we offered him.

Stribling with a nice grab for the 1st TD of the game.

Channing is great at positioning himself for impact plays. Underthrown but he is a playmaker.

The SPIDER.

Stribling had a 2nd INT in his hands when he was taken out by his own teammate. Went off on his o\wn power and hopefully OK. 21-0 Butler 1:02 remaining in 1st qtr.

Stribling going for an INT gets smoked by his own teammate. Looked like a shot to the ribs to me. Eventually got up and walked off according to the announcer.

Sideline reporter says stomach injury, expected to be back in the game. Glad he's ok.

It's already 28-0 Butler at the end of the 1st so I wonder if they'll put him back in or not.
December 1st, 2012 at 11:55 AM ^
Didn't see him out on the last defensive series and haven't seen him on this offensive series. 28-7 Butler.

Play calling by Butler is pretty impressive. They have Jack Britt completely off balance.

This kid is one of the most exciting, and versatile players in our class. Even more so with Conley's place uncertain. He's shut down quite a few high caliber teams, including putting a Rivals top100 WR on an island for an entire game, and is playing in a State Championship standing out above even his own top 100 teammates. Is Rivals finally going to bump him from a 2 star now?
December 1st, 2012 at 12:45 PM ^
Im sure Channing is gonna get his third star but the question is if he is worthy of being a four star. I honestly don't care because the coaches are sold on him, but I know he as a player would appreciate that accolade. Also what was the official update on his injury?
December 1st, 2012 at 12:50 PM ^
though they showed a TD to #8, but I see him warming up with the rest of the team. Doing deep knee-bends. Guess that's a good sign.

Recently, I went through some of our less popular commits (Hurst, Stribling, Hill, Dukes, and York) and I am astonished by our ability to notice and lock down talent. I recommend the mgo-community go and check out some of those players senoir highlights. Especially Hurst, his film is unreal and I am VERY VERY glad we snapped him up.

My theory is that, in general, the low rated recruits(low three star/two star) for major programs tend to be better on average than the entire pool of low rated recruits.
Not to say that every two/three star guy we take is necessarily better than their ranking, but major programs are able to scout more thoroughly than other programs, and usually have their own camps. This gives them better opportunity to find those players who didn't ever get heavily scouted by one of the independent sites and may have ability above their rankings.
That is why a lower rated guy taken early in the process doesn't worry me much. Yes, I realize rankings matter on the whole. The coaches are in a good position to find the exceptions, though. If they are offering at a time when they don't know for sure how the class will end up, it means they really want the kid. You can have your pick of two stars come signing day if you just need to fill up the class anyway.
