I don't understand a single part of this outfit. It is endgame of uniform reckoning. All my ND friends are exploding because of the extreme dumbness of this.

you really need the profile view for the full effect of just how... unconventional these uniforms are. I mean, if Michigan ever came out in anything resembling this, I might just turn the TV off..
That's at least 4 shades of blue; ugly sock stripes; overly-thick side stripe on pants with random white edging; numbers on the UNDERSHIRT and not on the shoulders of the jersey; and stupid leprechaun on one side and the resurrected gold foil look on the other.
EDIT: Apparently, the pants stripe is only on the left leg, to be consistent with the blue side of the helmet. The other side is stripeless. Blech.

It's even worse in the side view. I feel really bad for them.
DB is probably salivating at the thought of improving the Michigan Brand by something like this unfortunately.

Actually, despite my post below, these jerseys might be perfect. After all:

Poor ND... Their struggle for respectability is never-ending...

Our Techfit video was better. Our guy was angrier and screamier.

Why does Adidas feel like it has to systematically punish so many innocent fbs fans? Wisconsin, Nebraska, us, ND. Maybe they just hate the mid west?
August 16th, 2012 at 4:16 PM ^
Tech Fit, but that one is an absolute atrocity. I don't think the Domers are as pissed that they got Tech Fit as they are that it is the singular worst alternate uniform that I have ever seen. I actually will be a little bit surpised if they end of wearing that hideous thing in that game. That is a particularly bad one.

Nike, Adidas, Under Armour . . . it really doesn't matter which brand you have. No school is safe.

Adidas make uniforms wicked sweet dawg
August 16th, 2012 at 4:10 PM ^
Wow. haha, they take such a classic helmet and turn it into a monstrosity.
August 16th, 2012 at 4:13 PM ^
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
[Edit: Dammit. DGD beat me to it. My sentiment still stands though.]
August 16th, 2012 at 4:10 PM ^
Shouldnt their helmets be bright red to resemble Brian Kelly's screaming face?

Umm... what the hell is that?
August 16th, 2012 at 4:10 PM ^
I want to laugh, but after those atrocities we wore last year against MSU...
August 16th, 2012 at 4:20 PM ^
This obviously confirms that it could have been so much worse...
August 16th, 2012 at 5:17 PM ^
Agree to disagree. I cannot think of a single uniform in modern sports worse than what we wore against MSU last year. Even the seizure inducing things that Maryland wore were better because at least the crazy design had some meaning.
I'd wear these ND uniforms 10 time out of 10 before i'd wear the bumblebee's again.
August 16th, 2012 at 5:45 PM ^
I would agree if you restricted it to the jersey, but these ND helmets put them over the top (or under the bottom). We at the very least kept our iconic helmet. ND has an iconic helmet, too but...
Great googly moogly.
August 16th, 2012 at 6:46 PM ^
...you are supposed to hold a hand over one eye, and that if you then stare at it long enough, it turns into something else as an optical illusion...
August 16th, 2012 at 5:45 PM ^
Agree to disagree with you on that one.
The U-M uniform you speak of won't win any prizes, but I'd be surprised if this ND uniform even sees the light of day. Just as Sparty was able to mount a campaign to stop Nike from changing their logo, I have a feeling the amount of negative feedback these monstrosities will receive is going to be too overwhelming to ignore.
August 16th, 2012 at 6:01 PM ^
I think we're evaluating based on different things. I agree it is more egregious to change ND's helmet than it is to change UM's road jersey's. But, if these jersey's were being worn by Pitt this year, no one would be making a big deal because they're kinda dumb, but probably not, objectively, the ugliest uniforms in the world. On the other hand, if the bumblebee jersey's were worn by someone like Cal or WVU last year, I think everyone would still think they're absolutely hideous.
So in sum, yeah I agree, these are a bigger crime against tradition than the bumblebees, but i still think they are better looking. This is all just a matter of opinion though, and beauty is obviously in the eye of the beholder. Just my two cents on the issue.
August 16th, 2012 at 6:10 PM ^
But if say, Iowa had the bumblebees, would you really consider them the worst of all time? I ask because they once wore a vaguely similar uniform, but it's been largely forgotten:
Many schools have worn garish uniforms. (This was actually in the late 1990s.) We're sensitive to the 2011 MSU game look because it happened to be us in them.
August 16th, 2012 at 6:22 PM ^
I think they're pretty hideous too. If a team were to wear those in 2012, yeah I'd put them on a level of ugliness pretty darn close to the bumblebees.
Plus I think those are almost 20 years old, so I don't know if I'd classify them as a modern sports uniform anymore, but I guess others still may.
Edit* I didn't see your text under the picture at first, but I totally agree with that statement.

August 16th, 2012 at 4:16 PM ^
To be fair though, most people in ND uniforms look that way these days.
August 16th, 2012 at 4:15 PM ^
Plus, what's up with it not being centered and equal on each side? At least the side with the leprechaun, one is able to look at it without going completely blind.
August 16th, 2012 at 4:14 PM ^
These look like a combination of Navy and Northwesterns uniforms....
August 16th, 2012 at 4:14 PM ^
in college football, big nationally televised games are just excuses to wear silly costumes and, in Notre Dame's case, throw even more hilarious interceptions.
