OT - RIP John Hoke (Coach Hoke's father)
Cancer is just so evil.
My thoughts and prayers go out to the Hoke family.
Lung cancer is pretty awful stuff; it took my dad about six years ago. His battle was short but incredibly painful, and heartbreaking. Hope it was a different story for Brady's dad. Thoughts and prayers to the Hoke family.
RIP. Thoughts and prayers for coach and his family.
When I first read the subject, I thought it referred to Brady's brother Jon Hoke (who is the DBs coach of the Chicago Bears). That would have been very shocking since he's only one year older than Brady. Can you change the subject to specify that John Hoke was Brady's father?
Tonight we all mourn for the Hoke family.
RIP John. Tough day for Michigan. I hardly consider the passing of Brady Hoke's father to be off-topic.
Thoughts and prayers to Coach Hoke, family, and friends of John Hoke
Coach Hoke, you're making your dad proud. Thoughts and prayers with you all.
It's good that he lived long enough to see his son realize his dream. Hopefully, coach is taking some small measure of comfort in that.
He must have been an incredible father to turn out a man like Brady.
Thoughts and prayers with the Hoke family.
that's terrible. RIP.
RIP. Thoughts and prayers for the Hoke family in this trying time.
All Wolverines are with you today, coach.
Condolences to the Hoke family.
What a gift, though, to, in the last year of his life, watch his son achieve his dream job and succeed far beyond the expectations of most sportswriters and fans while being broadly embraced as the new face of Michigan football.
But can you imagine the pride he felt over the last year?
to have raised his kids so well. Like is often said, 'the apple doesn't fall far from the tree', Dad Hoke was very likely a strong and sturdy tree! My condolences to Brady, his wife and kids, and Brady's sibling(s). Rest in peace...
but at least he saw his son achieve his biggest goal of coaching the U of M and also beating Ohio, and a BCS win. So my prayers will go out to Coach Hoke and his family, but he got to see some great things in his last year.
the entire Hoke family my condolences and a prayer in this time.
Thank you for raising a great leader of men!
My prayers are with you and your family Coach Hoke.
RIP, Thoughts and prayers going out to the Hokes.
Thank you for giving us your son as our coach. You were quite clearly a good father. Rest in peace!
R.I.P. At least he got to witness a year of his son living his dream of coaching Michigan. Condolences to the family. I know Hoke is gonna make his dad proud.
Sorry for your loss coach Hoke. Im sure your dad was as proud of you as any dad could be.
Love and prayers for the hoke family. John Hoke raised a fine man, so I have to think that he was one as well. I am sure he will be missed . . . .
God Bless, fergodsakes.
EDIT: Just a thought, but do you think Brian would include a small mention of Mr. Hoke's passing in HTTV if we ponyed up additional funding for the project? (hope that doesn't sound capitalistic or ghoulish)
RIP John.
Condolences to the entire Hoke family.
RIP papa Hoke. Speaking as a father myself , I know I could die a happy man knowing my son had grown into such a man as coach hoke. Speaking as a husband , I don't think you are ever prepared to lose your spouse. Thoughts and prayers go out to the Hoke family and a thank you to John Hoke for being the type of man who raised one heck of a football coach
God Bless
RIP... You raised one hell of a coach, and most importantly, one hell of a man. Thoughts and prayers go out to the Hoke family.
RIP. As a father i can only imagine the pride he must have felt watching Brady last year fulfill his dream.
my heart and thoughts go to the Hokes... God bless
My thoughts are with Coach Hoke and his family. RIP
Prayers for the Hoke's. My grandfather recently died from lung related issues. As tragic as it is to lose them, Its good to know the second to second struggle to breath is over. Rest easy sir.
the Hoke family. Imagine how happy he must have been for his son this last season. It certainly won't make things easier now, but it might bring solace in the future.
Losing your parent is so tough, especially assuming its a long and painful proces. But the silver lining is what you said, seeing his son reach the apex of his career. God bless and Go Blue
The Hoke family is in my prayers.
RIP John.
Sounds like he led a tremendous life. Prayers to the Hoke family.
