Posting on behalf of user GoBlue77202
Don't have enough points to start my own thread but 247 Sports released the Top247 for 2013. Shane Morris is 12th overall and the #2 QB. Dymonte Thomas is 35 overall and the 4th ranked safety.

Thanks man!

Give this man some pos-bangs.

I'm confused . . . do we have a dispute as to which MGoUser was the first to break the news about the new 247 rankings? I assume GoBlue77202 posted this information in a different thread that I missed. Did the OP in this thread steal GoBlue77202's thunder and start this separate thread without giving him credit? If so, negbang for the OP! If not, nevermind.

Definitely didn't copy or try to steal any MGoUser's thunder. Saw a tweet from @SWiltfong247 stating "247Sports with football rankings for the class of 2013" were up.
I didn't see anyone else create a topic so I just posted it along with the UM commits that I saw towards the top

Surprised to see Taco Charlton so high. Kid has a lot of talent but a lot of people have been saying he's sliding this season.
November 8th, 2011 at 9:42 AM ^
That's one I was a little surprised about too. I said this a few weeks ago, but he needs a lot of coaching.
November 8th, 2011 at 10:37 AM ^
Wow...Chris Fox #39? Awesome to have one of only two offers out to him. Sounds like he's going to make an early decision, as well. Fingers crossed...
Raulerson, Pocic and Tunsil are nothing to sneeze at, either...
November 8th, 2011 at 9:48 AM ^
Also, I posted this on twitter, but 92% of our offer recipients are in the top247. Only 2, QB Riley Ferguson (he's claimed an offer since the RR days...I haven't read anything to make me believe Hoke even validated that offer) and WR Richard Benjamin aren't in there.
I should also mention that early efforts from Hoke and staff have put us in very good positions with a lot of these kids...next year's class could easily surpass this year's....depending on how we finish out this season.

Ty Isaac - Yes Please!!!
November 8th, 2011 at 11:06 AM ^
Hutchings is ranked much lower than I expected.
November 8th, 2011 at 11:15 AM ^
I agree with you, I'd expect him to be higher. May be because of his size (only listed around 205-210) or they may see something the rest of us don't. I'd still love to land him.
November 8th, 2011 at 11:21 AM ^
Agreed. He would continued the great tradition of Wolverines coming from De La Salle.
November 8th, 2011 at 7:36 PM ^
One of the analysts on 247 said that he slid because his production has not been what they thought it would be.
November 8th, 2011 at 9:58 AM ^
Would have been nice to have 2 kids in the top 15, but good luck to him
Ty Isaac is #30
Kyle Bosch #55
I'm sure someone is doing this same thing and will beat me to it
Laquon Treadwell #65 (Standifer's teammate)
Jake Butt #70
Riley Norman #113 (from Michigan, looks like MSU)
Taco Charlton #115
Wyatt Shallman #149
Jon Reshke #180
Jourdan Lewis #218 (obligatory Cass Tech CB)

How does their rating system work? 2 kids with ratings over 100?
November 8th, 2011 at 7:41 PM ^
http://247sports.com/Article/Class-of-2013-bucks-trends--47535
They explain it in the link above as well as other analysis, like how there is no 5 star player form California at this point since Michael Hutchings fell to 4 stars.
The franchise rating is not given every recruiting cycle. Previously, defensive end Jadeveon Clowney (who signed with South Carolina) and offensive tackle Cyrus Kouandjio (whos signed with Alabama) were rated 105 and 102, respectively, during the 2011 recruiting cycle. Defensive lineman Robert Nkemdiche (Loganville, Ga./Grayson) debuts with a rating of 103, while linebacker Reuben Foster (LaGrange, Ga./Troup) makes his debut with a rating of 102.

There's a DT named Dee Liner (#17 overall) - that's amazing
November 8th, 2011 at 10:20 AM ^
And to top that off, he's from *Muscle Shoals*. Pretty sweet name for a town.
November 8th, 2011 at 10:36 AM ^
...has got the Swampers.
November 8th, 2011 at 10:46 AM ^
And they've been known to pick a song or two
November 8th, 2011 at 12:01 PM ^
recording studio is also located there where many recording stars recorded classics.
November 8th, 2011 at 11:01 AM ^
Kevin Olsen looks like he's 10.
November 8th, 2011 at 7:43 PM ^
He should update his hair style.
November 8th, 2011 at 7:45 PM ^
Apparently that does help.
November 8th, 2011 at 11:21 AM ^
Wow, so both of our 2013 commits are ranked above all but one of our 2012 commits, is that right? Either way, our first two guys both in the top 35 is pretty huge, not to mention all the potential guys we have on that list.
