is way different than playing techno over the loudspeaker.
Also, anyone who doesn't like Daft Punk is wrong.
September 8th, 2011 at 4:28 PM ^
Electronic and Dubstep are legit.
September 8th, 2011 at 4:45 PM ^
doing Burial would be the greatest thing ever.
September 8th, 2011 at 6:29 PM ^
That would be the greatest thing ever and even greater if they added in some James Blake and The Xx.
September 8th, 2011 at 6:24 PM ^
this kind of music will get me all hyped up, and the red bulls im going to slam will help too.
September 8th, 2011 at 6:25 PM ^
haha the idea of MMB playing Excision & Datsik is mindblowing.
September 8th, 2011 at 6:32 PM ^
Swagga

September 10th, 2011 at 6:58 PM ^

September 8th, 2011 at 4:16 PM ^
Pom poms is so SEC.
September 8th, 2011 at 9:48 PM ^
Or PAC 10, er 12, er 16, ala UCLA.
Still, it will be a impressive sight in the Big House.
September 8th, 2011 at 4:17 PM ^
pom's, meh.
techno. F yeah.
September 8th, 2011 at 4:18 PM ^
None of that is techno. Daft Punk is the only electronic artist on there and the rest are basically current pop songs.
September 8th, 2011 at 4:19 PM ^
Pom poms= good. 110,000 yellow pop poms at night. Sweet.
For a second I thought you meant PA techno music. I almost shit.

Is the game a maize out?
September 8th, 2011 at 4:38 PM ^
Every game should be a maize out, but I do not think the tickets stated like in prior years
September 8th, 2011 at 4:48 PM ^
Pom-Poms?
Pom-Poms.
September 8th, 2011 at 5:28 PM ^

I found it off of google images and have used it as my signature on another forum ever since.

One of the better ways of ensuring a maize out considering during a maize out many people wear non maize shirts. But with pom poms everyone would be waving yellow.
September 8th, 2011 at 6:07 PM ^
Is this a maize-out?!?!?!?!? My buddy just secured tix for us, so we want to be ready in proper apparel. I hadn't heard anything about it but wasn't looking either because up until now I wasn't planning on being lucky enough to be at the game...
Anyone who knows, please speak up - I appreciate it!
September 8th, 2011 at 7:38 PM ^
O no I didn't mean it that way. I just meant that when they do a maize out its never fully maize, but giving out pom poms during a maize out would make it a lot better.
As for if the game is a maize out, I don't know. The past couple ND games have been iirc. You could just be safe and wear maize.

I'd direct you to my post in that diary. It tells you exactly what will happen, so you don't have to bother spending $250 going to the game, and you can just do yard work all day.
September 8th, 2011 at 4:20 PM ^
Link please. I want to forward it to some individuals I know who are lucky enough to attend the game
September 8th, 2011 at 4:21 PM ^
Put the pom poms to use, and get the Big House rocking!
September 8th, 2011 at 4:23 PM ^
They're giving away 100,000 porn-porn's!! That sounds twice as good as regular porn. I'm ther.......ohhhhh pom-pom's. I..guess...that's nice too.(Sigh)
September 8th, 2011 at 4:28 PM ^
I love the pom-pom idea -- should be sweet. Techno by the band? Meh, fine by me.
September 8th, 2011 at 4:31 PM ^
Is "Techno" what mgoblue is calling it? Man.. if so that is pathetic. Oh well, it CANNOT be worse than the Wisconsin halftime GIRL POWER sh*t that took place last year.
September 8th, 2011 at 4:35 PM ^
Eh, I am not going to scream obsenities and you kids for crossing over my lawn over it.
Is it a bit tacky / SEC? Sure. But, on TV (where most future recruits watch the game), it does give the appearance of a hyped-up crowd. I love the traditional Big House game experience, complete with high tea and scone between quarters as much as anyone, but for an occasion such as this, creating the appearance of a loud, active crowd can only help us.
September 8th, 2011 at 10:55 PM ^
Giving out pom-poms for a big game is not even new. They've done it for OSU games several times, including the '97 game, I believe (the pom-poms would be on your seat when you arrived).
September 8th, 2011 at 4:39 PM ^
Saturday rehearsal closed to public? Weird...
September 8th, 2011 at 7:39 PM ^
....mid-day rehearsal was also at the big house and closed to the public.
September 8th, 2011 at 8:52 PM ^
MMB Saturday rehearsal will be from 1-3 on Elbel Field. This was changed today, hence the incorrect information on MGoBlue.com. However, tomorrow night's rehearsal will be in the stadium.
September 8th, 2011 at 4:40 PM ^
michigan tradition is not about being complacent. its about doing everything with integrity, effort and class. there's no need to judge these events by the words techno and pom-poms as an affront to the tradition of michigan football or fandom. there's also nothing wrong with developing an ongoing tradition, adapting and creating. this UTL is shaping up to be a legendary event. perhaps a once in a lifetime experience. even if there are future night games, this first one seems like it could really be special. i can imagine the impact it could have on recruits of all kinds, athletes and regular students. to those going, have a rockin time and enjoy. GO BLUE!
September 8th, 2011 at 4:43 PM ^
When I saw the song listed as "Everytime We Touch" at first I thought it was this song. I thought "That's a weird choice to pump people up."
September 8th, 2011 at 4:41 PM ^
As in PacMan?? whoah.
September 8th, 2011 at 4:46 PM ^
pom pom swag. winning
September 8th, 2011 at 4:50 PM ^
I am so PUMPED for this game I wouldnt care if they gave me a freaking cowbell and did a salute to Star Wars at half.
I am leaving Cleveland at 10:30am sharp with my wife, son and his girlfriend. I'll drop our stuff off at the hotel around 1:30 and we'll be at the tailgate (conveniently located at the corner of Chrysler & the Big House - right where the Victors Walk USED to occur) by 2:00pm.
I havent been this excited for an event since I was 9 and I knew Christmas was a day away.....
September 8th, 2011 at 4:55 PM ^
A salute to Star Wars would've been freaking awesome, especially at night.
September 8th, 2011 at 5:06 PM ^
The MMB has wanted to do one for a while, but John Williams is extremely stingy about letting people perform his music (too many people have done it without permission), even though he LOVED the MMB when he conducted them at a rehearsal for the 2004 Rose Bowl (unlike the USC band, who were apparently very rude and unprofessional towards him).
September 8th, 2011 at 8:16 PM ^
I'd love to see Star Wars performed on cowbells.

If only Lucas had the same self-control.
September 8th, 2011 at 6:07 PM ^
Please.
September 8th, 2011 at 4:53 PM ^
And when everyone keeps saying, "It's so SEC" -- that's not a bad thing. As much as I love Michigan Stadium -- the SEC is an amazing conference in terms of atmosphere.
Go to 2:00.
September 8th, 2011 at 7:51 PM ^
That was good home field stuff. The fans are f-ing stoked. Michigan should be like that every time the Wolverines take the field. Love the music from the movie in this Gamecocks vid. I am praying for an epic Michigan win against the irish. Saturday night cannot come fast enough. Go Blue!!!
September 8th, 2011 at 9:15 PM ^
I love it
September 8th, 2011 at 9:32 PM ^
If that doesn't fire you up I don't know what will. I even remember reading in a book about Bo where he went to a SC game and he said "now that is an entrance!"
