Kudos This is ... Brilliant!

I'm hungry too

which is why I stopped by Red Hot Lovers after the game for some serious fries.  Hot damn!!!  The bathroom at Social Work paid the toll!

fwiw - there's a problem with the presser transcript post

something about authorization?

Attire? Anyone think it's a day for long johns under jeans?
5 guys may be a chain

Decleater

is there a pic or link to the Desmond Morgan decleater?

With coaches like this...

... it's great to be a Michigan Wolverine.  Representing the university, the team and the individual players with respect, class, integrity and toughness (had to throw that in there).  These coaches are teachers, leaders and mentors.  That is the Michigan way.

Completely unrelated, compared to a lot of the previous pressers, it seems as though the coaches provide a bit more detailed insight into their game plan.  Interesting.

Come back to DC, John

I second the nomination for DC.  Attended the book signing for Bo's Lasting Lessons and became and instant devourer of Bacon.  Bo's Lessons was a heck of a read - should be required reading for b-school management classes.  Look forward to receiving my copy on October 25.

Lupe. That's very nice, very nice. Thought you were going to reference Lupe from Seinfeld when Jerry and George go to LA for the tonight show and to visit Kramer. "I tuck in? Yes?"
But... We got Denard.

Thanks for the insight And Go Blue.
itunes fail.   can someone

itunes fail.   can someone please explain how to dowload the podcast on an ipad?  i feel so inadequate :(

this post should be negged

what a leap to read into that quote that Brandon is meddling with the coaches.  Brandon is giving props, publicly, to Mattison for busting his ass and caring enough to get right back to work at 9am.  nothing more than illustrating a mutual excitement for the program.  i love it!

pre-game, half-time, post-game

would be great to get a full breakdown/highlights of the UTL pre-game, halftime and post-game.  legendary night.  i want to know what it was like to be there.

Jake Ryan had a MONSTER tackle

on the 3rd and short.  that was a great stop for our D.  look forward to seeing more of that.  our D line did not win every battle, or a lot of em, but won some BIG ones.

thank you

for the post.  i can't get enough of this shimm!  GO BLUE, BABY!!!

speed

herron looked pretty fast on the 90 yard interception scamper; based on other things i've been reading on the mgoblog, seems like his speed is one of his better assets.  maybe thats why the coaches think he can handle this play call.  i look at the pictures and see two players converging on the ball, the safety and the LB.  seems like good things could happen here.  also, the QB may be expecting the Thomas Gordon guy to drop into coverage and be confused by that blitz.

while it did not work in these two instances, that does not make it a bad play call or poor use of personnel.  i'll trust the experienced, proven coaches on this one.

kudos to brian for identifying this and breaking it down.  for us laymen, this is awesome insight into the details of the game.

GO BLUE!

the michigan difference

michigan tradition is not about being complacent. its about doing everything with integrity, effort and class.  there's no need to judge these events by the words techno and pom-poms as an affront to the tradition of michigan football or fandom.  there's also nothing wrong with developing an ongoing tradition, adapting and creating.  this UTL is shaping up to be a legendary event.  perhaps a once in a lifetime experience.  even if there are future night games, this first one seems like it could really be special.   i can imagine the impact it could have on recruits of all kinds, athletes and regular students.  to those going, have a rockin time and enjoy.  GO BLUE!

I wonder if Novak ever wears sleeves.

anyone on campus that can weigh in?  my money is on no sleeves, ever.

Food for (red hot) lovers

what about Ray's Red Hots, formerly Red Hot Lovers.  Feast on cheeeeeeeez fries (the best in the biz), classic chicago dogs, amazin chicken sandwiches and just fine burgers.

great article

nice job Zemke.  tke legend.

This is a great post

Kudos

Shame no visit to Ray's Red Hots (Formerly Red Hot Lovers)

IMO the best food in Ann Arbor.  Had a few rough years after it was taken over by some herb from long island, but one of the original owners rescued the mecca.

Many fond memories there with Dennis, Yankee hat and the Ween-heads. In my four years, I gained several pounds, invented a menu item, and the skills I honed as an undergrad helped me p8wn Michael Phelps.

In 2001, a buddy of mine  downed two terriyaki chicken sandwiches, two large cheese fries and two cherry cokes at Red Hot Lovers. Boy was Dennis impressed with that.

Over my freshman and soph years, I perfected my order:  BBQ chicken w/ cheddar, slaw, hot peppers, tomato (that's a Soul on a Roll for you amateurs out there), cheese fries and cherry coke, serious dog on the side and a side of pickles.  I'll never forget the day they added Soul on a Roll back to the chalkboard after it had been off the menu for many years.

a few years after i graduated, i invented an item: Serious Fries.  Cheese fries with slaw, chopped onions, tomatoes, hot peppers, and bbq sauce.  Don't knock it till you try it.  In the Fall 2008, I was in line behind Michael Phelps, who was having trouble figuring out what to order.  I suggested an order of serious fries.  Phelps asked what that was, I explained, and he replied:  I'm not that serioius, bra."  I told him to go back to Prickly Pear.

i haven't been back since RHL became Roy's Red Hots, but it will be the first spot I hit upon my next trip to AA.
