Was going to downvote this comment (just for the insinuation that other football players are playing "fake" football), but then I realized this comment is so Harbaugh - that this may legitimately be his MgoBurner. Carry on my good man, and have an upvote instead.

Agreed - great old song,…

Agreed - great old song, that has seen many covers and variations.

Johnny Burnett and the Rock n Roll trio did the original in like 49 or 50

^ This is incorrect. The song was first recorded by Tiny Bradshaw (a black jazz / R&B musician) in '51 and then covered by Johnny Burnett and the Rock and Roll Trio in '56. Obviously, not believing you did this intentionally, but it is astounding to see how the role black people played in the creation of rock and roll and other forms of music is dismissed or left out altogether in the overarching history.

His win record at Colorado…

His win record at Colorado State after his first 2 years is 79.2%

Um.. what? Based on the snippet you shared, he won 84 of 126 (66.7%) of his games at CSU since the 20-21 season. In fact, he only posted a win% near the one you cited in one season.

I know Brian really likes this guy, but I think it would be a really underwhelming hire.

Having fast MLBs is very…

Having fast MLBs is very important in modern football...having MLBs that consistently run in the right direction is more important. If Hausman and/or Rolder can do that, they'll be just fine.

This board has really turned insufferable- the first national championship (unshared, anyways) in everybody’s lifetime and every thread is just about shitting on Warde. I don’t really care whether the guy stays or goes, but FFS it’s getting old.

EDIT - I see 42-27 already shared a similar sentiment - Wardegoblog it is

Iowa would have to beat Iowa…

Iowa would have to beat Iowa State, Minn, Washington, MSU, NW, Wisc, UCLA, Maryland and Nebraska for that to happen --- if they run that schedule they deserve to be there. Yes they get somewhat lucky in avoiding Oregon and USC + UM and PSU - but that is by no means an easy schedule. No Indiana, no Purdue, no Rutgers -- they don't really have a game they will be heavily favored in (other than perhaps MSU) after week 3 of their season

That’s a bit of “both…

That’s a bit of “both-sidesing” that doesn’t seem necessary here. There is one side that is creating 3 independent threads a day on the same topic and then also turning 1/2 of all other threads into insults, recriminations and massive negativity.
Regardless of the merit of each position, I think there’s a clear answer on which side is worse.

Im not trying to be flippant…

Im not trying to be flippant, but how much time have you spent at round leaders of $130M+ businesses? I can tell you they are just as flawed as any other humans, perhaps a bit less incompetent, but you would be surprised at the reasoning behind some of these choices and the performance tied to the individuals / teams.

Very interesting, what is…

Very interesting, what is your criteria for these rankings? I'm not saying you don't know more than me about ADs, but you list ADs (and thus athletic departments by proxy) such as Baylor, Toledo, Washington St (who just lost their eh... conference), Arkansas and Boise St - and say that they are clear upgrades and A level hires. Um.... okay - based on what?

Hemmorhaging our most…

Hemmorhaging our most successful coaches is doing quite a bit in that statement.

Beilein went to the NBA - which didn't work out BTW. I would be much more convinced that he was "salvageable" or even that Warde was the problem if he went on to take another job, particularly another college job. Maybe the dude was just at the end of his rope, or maybe he wanted to chase a dream, or maybe Warde was such an asshole that he drove him out -- I don't know and you don't know

Harbaugh -- again the same people that watned him fired 4 years ago are now all up in arms because he left. The main person responsible for Harbaugh leaving is Jim Harbaugh... He did the same thing for 3 years before he finally left and as to why he left - you can use the same questions as above for Beilein. People ignore the fact that Harbaugh had all the power, if he came out and said I really want to be here, but I need an administration that supports me do you really think he couldn't have gotten Warde fired and damn-near handpicked his replacement?

Most overrated coach in history of college football. These commentators need to get harbaughs cock out of there mouth. Fuck ESPN fuck harbaugh and if warde doesnt fire him by Monday fuck warde too

Fucking johnny on the spot -…

Johnny on the spot -- thank you! Not surprising that there seems to be significant overlap in those calling for Harbaugh's head with those calling for Warde's. Well guys, if we listened to you last time, we probably aren't coming off of back-to-back-to-back B1G championships, wins over OSU and playoff berths + a national championship.

So maybe, everybody should calm down and take a breath....

Ok - so tell us you’re over…

Ok - so tell us you’re over 60 without saying you’re over 60 (username excepted). You really are including Chris Perry, Rob Lyle and Butch Woolfolk in consideration for greatest UM back ever? At most the discussion might include Hart, Wheatley, Biakabatuka and Corunna. I’d probably not say Corum is definitively the greatest (I’d probably lean Wheatley / Hart), but we also don’t need to pretend that there are 10 RBs better than Corum either.

Cool story??

I’m sorry - this is such an ignorant comment. The University Endowment has almost nothing to do with the AD budget. Most of that money has very stringent requirements on how / when / where it can be used and virtually none of it is earmarked towards football or the AD more broadly.
So let’s potentially throw away $150M and not worry about it? That type of loss would cripple the entire athletic department and have ramifications way beyond football.

I love how the same people…

I love how the same people who trash Feldman for articles from anonymous sources, eat up this shit (and yes I mean shit) from JUB. Yes, let’s all blame Warde Manuel when the only person who decides whether Harbaugh coaches here next year is Harbaugh.

There are still a few bugs in the answer-response system. For instance, you may sense – due to a long pause – that your Harbaugh has completed an answer. You will begin to ask another question. You could be two sentences into your question when your Harbaugh suddenly continues his answer to the previous question. You will feel stupid. Do not be alarmed. This is normal.

2) Lack of showcase…

2) Lack of showcase potential (particularly on offense and for a QB/WR) in our scheme

Seriously, name a program that gets showcased more frequently -- we can complain about ESPN / SEC bias, but if Harbaugh takes a dump - it is a major news story. Also, JJ is still getting 1st round hype - despite the lackluster numbers and nature of our offense.

Agree with points 1 and 3

Warren has been injured -- believe he got hurt in the Nebraska game. He was #2 heading into season and would have to be up there as favorite for starter with Davis assuming that 1) JJ goes pro and 2) UM does not pursue high-level grad transfer

Really, no one else has even…

Really, no one else has even been successful in more than two of those ways.

A little too soon to crown him, but Deion Sanders is definitely making a case for being successful in 3 of those ways. I think his case is pretty clear as both a college and pro player, and I would argue his career as a college football coach has been successful. Whether it can be legendary, similar to his playing career, remains to be seen - but bringing relevance to a HBCU to the point where they are securing commitments from 5 star recruits and turning around the biggest dumpster fire in P5 within 1 year are tremendous first steps.

Good list - can't find much…

Good list - can't find much to argue with... except -- no way Danna makes it for me. He was only around UM for 1 season, and while I think he's a damn fine representative of UM in the league and has had some success there, no way he contributed more to UM or even at his peak was a better player than any of those honorable mentions

I'd take OSU's schedule over…

I'd take OSU's schedule over UM's but they definitely did not get off easy. They will have to go in to the two toughest road environments in the new B1G - Autzen and Happy Valley (probably during a white out), but the home schedule is cake. B1G should have swapped out IU or Purdue with UCLA and then their B1G schedule would have been on par with ours

Could very likely be ranked…

Could very likely be ranked is doing a lot in your take. Minnesota and Illinois are not ranked teams at the moment and I don't see what in either of their trajectories makes you believe they will be. USC, Oregon and Washington are looking great this year -- but all 3 will be without their starting QBs next year (yes I realize UM could potentially be in that situation) so it's not "very likely"  that they will all be ranked (certainly a possibility)

A tough schedule to be sure -- and probably the toughest on paper at this moment of any B1G team -- but par for the course. Also, absurd to bring in USC / Oregon and then not have them play each other next year

Yes and USC and Oregon will…

Yes and USC and Oregon will also be without Williams and Nix respectively (both on track to be in NYC this year). You could argue that UCLA will actually feature the best or at least most experienced quarterback in true sophomore Dante Moore.

+1 although I'd hardly…

+1 although I'd hardly describe what he did on that play as chasing down Sainristil, still gotta love the hustle from the big fella

Sorry but your take is…

Sorry but your take is insane -- not to say guys don't regress occasionally (see Patterson, Shea) but that is not the norm. This team is loaded with more experience, more depth and the same or better top end talent as last year's team

RB -- Basically the same room except everybody is a year older and we added Cabana (yes, Corum coming off injury, but he looks fully back and great) -- how in the world is this year's RB room demonstrably better?

OL -- No argument here, Olu was a special and underrated player that this team misses

TE -- Also fair, although I disagree -- Loveland is proving again to be a contested catch merchant and will be the best TE and might have the best TE season since Jake Butt -- Barner looking very solid as well

DL - Mazi is a loss -sure  you say Mason isn't Mazi - but Mazi had 0.5 sacks the entire year -- Mason + KG already have 2 combined on the season + Kris Jenkins with another year and 20 pounds >> Kris Jenkins last year -- and no real loss in production from the edge spots (depending on your view of Okie), everybody returns a year older + addition of Stewart

Secondary - Push in my opinion -- this was Johnson and Moore's first real games of the season -- they will be elite. Sainristil is also amazing and is already showing to be better than last year. Only downgrade is Turner for Wallace - but I'd say 4 of your 5 starters will be better this year with some additional depth and potential rotation pieces by the end of year (Saab, J. Hill)

Don't want to share too much…

Don't want to share too much that's behind the paywall, but I think this provides additional context and answers your question:

The Athletic obtained documents outlining commercial formats for all SEC and Big 12 games and certain Big Ten games. They vary slightly from conference to conference, and even between each conference’s network partner, but they look fairly similar. They’re either “3-4-3-4” — three breaks in the first and third quarters, four in the second and fourth quarters — or “4-4-4-4,” plus breaks at the end of the first and third quarters.

Tucker certainly would have…

Tucker certainly would have made some calls that would have yanked Penix around - perhaps until he was finished
