Far as I can tell he has…

Far as I can tell he has only done one thing (hire the new bball coach) that has stood out. Everything else he has either botched, or shown indecision and lack of action.

To make matters worse, he has not shown any kind of innovation or leading the athletic department into a new era with creative and progressive ideas. Like it or not but these are the characteristics of the modern "CEO" or large scale leader. It is no longer good enough to just be a manager and get things done.

No. But other people who…

No. But other people who were proven wrong have the right to change their opinion. Awful thread

Alternate question to you: do you defend WM / think he’s the right person for the job? Why?

I can't believe it's over…

I can't believe it's over. So anticlimactic. They won it all, and it feels great. But then I am left with this feeling, that I don't want the season to end. I want one more game. Two more games. Keep playing please! I am not ready for this beautiful collection of players and coaches to go their separate ways.

But thanks for the memories. I will never forget this season.

Should read "Trouble in the"…

Should read "Trouble in the"

"Trouble with the" brings back too many bad memories around here.

Not sure why anyone is downvoting you. I got a chuckle out of this.

This is a major story. Not…

This is a major story. Not to us fans, alums, and mgobloggers. We knew this was a nothing burger from the start. But this is major in the sense now all the haters can choke on this. Hopefully this tampers down their BS but I doubt it.

I like Karsch. Loved him on…

I like Karsch. Loved him on WTKA but not so much on 97.1. But man is his voice difficult to listen to. Ernie Harwell he is not. But few are. (and I am talking strictly about his voice quality and not the words coming out of his mouth).

We are going to win tonight…

We are going to win tonight. I KNOW it. I feel it IN MY BONES

Beautiful beautiful photos…

Beautiful beautiful photos. Amazing work. You all could easily charge for these. Thanks for the outstanding work.

I get the money.

I get the money.

I get wanting to play for a pass-first team.

But Brian Kelly? Who would want to play for him? There are many better options he could have chosen. I don't get it.

Sorry to get technical on…

Sorry to get technical on you, but was Raiola ever committed to OSU? Maybe he was but I don't recall.

Same here. It was as if all…

Same here. It was as if all 3 audio tracks were recorded separately and merged together with random spots where they were push - pulled 5 seconds. Very poor quality. One of the worst individual podcasts I have ever listened to. But I plowed through it because I love mgoblog and WTKA.

This episode should have been shitcanned.

My pure guess (watching on…

My pure guess (watching on TV) was that the team looked a little gassed and the coaches thought why not use the TO to get some rest and a mental pause before OT.

Would love him to suit up…

Would love him to suit up one more time. If my memory is not failing me, he thew 4 picks in a 20-3 win for the good guys in Columbus. His last game in the rivalry I believe.

I really like Gus. My only…

I really like Gus. My only complaint about him is he is too excitable. A bit too rah-rah for me. He does a great job of balancing and remaining neutral. He would be a phenomenal announcer for radio where he could go nuts for one side. Too bad TV announcers are always meant to be "neutral". Really wish there were home team TV announcers for all my sports and not just Bally Sports Detroit.

Sorry but I disagree. A…

Sorry but I disagree. A national title is EVERYTHING. All the other stuff you mentioned is gravy or icing on the cake. If they win it this year he is the GOAT at Michigan. I mean give Yost his due but that era is no comparison as to what Harbaugh has had to navigate.

You got my hopes up. I…

You got my hopes up. I thought there was going to be some tailgating today along with a live screen viewing inside of Crisler or something.

This one is disappointing…

This one is disappointing. Hate to see a 4* leave before he even gave his career at Michigan a chance. But best of luck to him.

Ghost of JG, is that you?

Ghost of JG, is that you?

I understand what they are…

I understand what they are doing and why they are doing it. But getting screwed by one organization (NCAA CFP Selection Committee) and suing another (ACC) is a.................. bold move to say the least.

Cue Jason Bateman memes.

Did you drop your kids off at the pool? Awful cold today to be swimming.

Honest question. Can he get a redshirt out of this?

Agree with you 100% At the…

Agree with you 100% At the same time I feel like half this board was ready to fire Harbaugh. And personally more like 80% or more of the people I know in real life were ready to fire him.

Really wonder what would have happened with Nebraska if they had exercised some patience with Solich and or Pellini like we luckily did with Harbaugh. I felt like a loaner when I didn't want him fired after the COVID year.

Seth summed up my sentiments…

Seth summed up my sentiments perfectly. Almost as if he plagiarized my thinking and emotions. While I want Howard to succeed at UM, I can't see it happening at this point and all signs point to a separation once the HR department concludes their investigation.

I had a friend that had the…

I have a friend that had the perfect storm. He should by all accounts be dead as I type this message.

He had a massive heart attack at work. Luckily he worked at a place where his coworkers immediately saw it happen and called 911 in addition to administering CPR.

The next part of the perfect storm was the fact there was an ambulance bay practically across the street from his place of work.

Next add in the fact UM hospital was a 20 minute ride. The ER further saved his life, then an additional ~30+ days in the ICU and Cardiac units, plus PT in the hospital. UM hospital saved his life. We were convinced he was not going to survive, the outlook on arrival at the hospital was very bleak and he was in a coma for I think almost 2 weeks. Miracles happen there daily.

I do actually. It's my…

I do actually. It's my hometown. I can't escape it. But as an insider, if anyone has a problem with me putting it down I honestly don't give a shit. And I meant my original comment sincerely. Saginaw goes a long way towards explaining why Draymond acts that way. If you or anyone disagrees, go live there for 20+ years and come back to me then.

Person with "Sagnasty" as…

Person with "Sagnasty" as their name tells me to screw myself for my comment. The irony.

For the record, I was born…

For the record, I was born and grew up in Saginaw. Got out for college. Went back for 5 years, got out and never looked back. I still have family there. For anyone who has never lived there you wouldn't understand. I have travelled to many places in this world and this country. Saginaw is a different place, with a backwards culture. If you don't like what I said, screw yourself.

He's from Saginaw. That's…

He's from Saginaw. That's what is wrong with him.

I think the committee got it…

I think the committee got it right last night. At least the top 4. I don't like the "who the best team RIGHT NOW" is argument. Too much talk of FSU being jumped even if they win since their QB is hurt. Not fair to punish them for that. If they win this weekend, they should be in. To me rankings and playoff spots should be a reward for a season's worth of accomplishments, not who we think has the hot hand at the end of the season. This is part of what screwed us in 97 with Nebraska. Just because they played their best game against Tenn we had to share the championship.

As I said, I feel like the committee got it right. But historically they are cowardly when it counts. I hope they don't act cowardly this coming Sunday if there is chaos and do something stupid like let the SEC have two teams, OSU backs in again, etc.

IMO OSU should not get a spot under ANY condition. And if Bama wins I can conceive a situation where the SEC is shut out, but they won't let that happen. As I said they tend to be cowards when it counts.

The idiots that designed…

The idiots that designed this current version of the playoff could have fixed this from the beginning with a simple rule. If you are do NOT win your conference, you are not eligible for the CFP. Period. What's that Notre Dame? You don't like that rule? Tough shit, join a conference. But the idiots that run things are incompetent and "just in charge" as Brian likes to say repeatedly.

And to further show how dumb they are, their next fix was to go to 12 playoff teams when 8 would have been perfectly fine. 12 is total overkill, nothing but a pure money grab and complete disregard for the players health and safety, not to mention their status as full-time students.

Tired of these scenarios coming up every year. I have seen on TV tonight that OSU has 52% chance of getting into the playoff based on the number crunchers. And most talking heads are saying if Bama beats Georgia then they both will get it. What sane person would put two teams from the same conference over a conference champion from another legit conference? We are not talking about the MAC here.

These idiots are ruining the sport.

Stephen A Smith is a…

Stephen A Smith is a complete tool. He reminds me of Jim Rome. There is NO WAY that is their normal talking voice. Complete showmanship. Which I find irritating and cannot listen to either one of them.

Update: Wish I could delete this and post it as a reply to another person's comment as I originally intended. But I was prompted to log in and I think that broke the reply and made it a new lone standing comment.

Sharp agrees to attach his name to something with no credibility. Go figure.

That was my freshman year…

That was my freshman year. For the final 4 game I was at home and watched with family. For the game against Seton Hall I watched it in South Quad (Bush House) and some jackass had the nerve to pull the fire alarm just as the game was going into OT. We ran over to the Union and watched the rest of the game at what used to be an arcade that had a large screen TV. Then we proceeded to celebrate on South U.

I remember one idiot climbing a light pole then shimmying his way over to the 4 way blinking light at South U and church. He was using his weight to go "up and down" no doubt to try and bring down the light. He was pretty high off the ground. His fall would have led to some bodily damage no doubt. I don't think the thought this through.

A friend of mine thought it would be a good idea to grab a hose from a fire truck. He did not get very far before a police officer clubbed him on the knee. He had a limp for more than a month.

We had a lot of fun that night, and I witnessed a lot of people being very stupid. A night I will never forget. I was feet away from the police car as it was turned over. The celebration at Crisler when the team returned was even better IMO.

BTW the girl singing as O'Korn is not altogether awful unlike all the others, except for JJ of course.

The best part is when the…

The best part is when the drama teacher starts lip-syncing along. Cuz you know if Harbaugh had one more year of eligibility left he would lace 'em up in a heartbeat.

After watching the video 3…

After watching the video 3 or more times now, including the game itself, it is apparent the NCAA and refs have no idea what targeting is. Pretty obvious to me this player deserved to be ejected and suspended.

With all we know about head trauma and CTE I cannot believe this is even a discussion. We should be erroring on the side of caution in every case and there was no reason whatsoever for the player to tackle in that manner and leave his feet.

Good grief.

It's garbage no doubt. I get…

It's garbage no doubt. I get it for free with Xfinity internet. And I am still paying too much. I didn't have any troubles watching the game. But I also have 1.2 GB speed. Not sure if that is the problem for others? But it is not the most user friendly app and I can see where people would go nuts. If I had to watch every game of the season on this app no doubt I would be looking for alternatives.

I have Peacock. It is so bad…

I have Peacock. It is so bad it is basically a throw in for any xfinity customer. You can get 1 month for $5.99. Worth it to me just to watch ONE SINGLE UM game and then cancel before next month renews.

This is the dream, but will…

This is the dream, but will probably never happen. Not with so many companies wanting to bundle their inferior crap with the good stuff just so they can charge more. Unless all the networks are splintered up into much smaller companies I don't ever see this happening.

I just switched to Hulu Live…

I just switched to Hulu Live last night. Paying a bit more as I am bundling D+ Hulu both no ads, plus ESPN+. But so glad I did it.

I literally cut the chord…

I literally cut the cord last night. I am stuck with xfinity for internet. But honestly I don't mind. They are by far the best option that I know of for internet. But I was turned off by their TV 185+ channels most of which I don't watch. And their bullshit games of "promo price but it expires in a year" and having to call them every time it is about to expire and having to beg for a new deal.

I went with Hulu. They have every channel I want except for Bally Sports Detroit, which I can subscribe to on my own if I want. I have not decided yet, leaning towards not. Why pay $14.99 per month when I barely ever watch Tigers / Pistons / Red Wings? Having said that I will keep this in mind and may add it later.

But Hulu has everything you could possibly want IMO. And I am getting a good price since I am bundling Hulu (no ads), Disney+ (no ads), ESPN+, and Hulu Live TV. All for $82.99 per month. A much better experience overall so far.

They have had a couple…

They have had a couple soccer games there in years past. I believe twice. Not sure who played but it was a pretty big deal (think Chelsea vs. Man United for example). I seem to recall them drawing similar crows to UM football 100k+. But the field is not big enough for regulation soccer field (the first row of seats is too close to the field).

Now can they draw this much for a woman's soccer game? I have no idea. But to answer your original question yes this has been done for soccer before.

It would be funny if they found a way to make fun of this like the makeup inning from the George Brett pine tar incident. Show the rest of the world what a joke this whole situation is.

You didn't try to make it…

You didn't try to make it political but you did. And you didn't really need to start a thread just so you could rant. My 2 cents.
