agreed, given the depth…

agreed, given the depth issues there it might be time for him to approach full Woodson for his final season

You could get slapped for…

You could get slapped for saying that

Remains to be seen, Rolder…

Remains to be seen, Rolder beat out several upperclassmen for time his freshman year and was banged up this year… there’s something there but we’ll see if it’s realized at UM

How dare you

How dare you

it's Iowa a week after the…

it's Iowa a week after the emotion of the OSU game, this might a 14-9 game or something

TAMU might throw to third…

TAMU might throw to third base for a pickoff

yeah, I thought he was…

yeah, I thought he was offsides till the replays just showed him cooking Barnhardt on every pass snap

he wasn't in pass pro later…

he wasn't in pass pro later in the game

it wasn't a gameplan as much…

it wasn't a gameplan as much as it was an in-game adjustment to the fact UM couldn't pass block and Allar isn't ready this year...

Their D had real rocks too…

Their D had real rocks too and came to play, but Allar doesn't have UM's coaching staff developing him and was throwing foam

JTT is an absolute terror,…

JTT is an absolute terror, there's a reason he was a five star....It'll be a problem, but the UM coaching staff is fantastic and will have multiple plans just like they did today

also the same Rod Moore who…

also the same Rod Moore who went out after that series and didn't come back in

he might be UM's second best…

he might be UM's second best receiver though, split him out wide sometimes!

How many times were they…

How many times were they planning on going the length of the field against the UM defense with their backup QB's? You're not making a major upset with a few field goals and what better opportunities are you going to get to score TD's... Their team fought hard but the decisions by the coaches to kick FG's there weren't the most competitive...

This is also an issue when…

This is also an issue when you play opponents that can't truly threaten you.  You start to play down to the level of the opposition and forget what it's like to have to solve problems.  It's not the teams fault as they don't make the schedule, but it may well be an issue down the road when they first run into a team that has the talent to compete with UM.

would you like a Wafle with…

would you like a Wafle with your Beigel? Yes!

Building a fence around…

Building a fence around France!

This is an issue in many…

This is an issue in many sports in the Western World…. Who wants to take that abuse for a few bucks… Some leagues have a code of conduct for parents and I think more need to go that route because it’s ridiculous, not right, and can even lead to dangerous situations

Not nearly enough love for…

Not nearly enough love for Devin Bush in this thread....

Not in the least, many who…

Not in the least, many who stayed and have won championships have been forgotten in the fog of time, particularly if they weren’t major contributors to a team

I think people are…

I think people are forgetting that Rolder is actually good and that he’s likely to be much better after a year in the weight and film rooms… Dude beat out several older players for time last year (I know we had depth issues but still…) and he’s very likely to make a big leap this year or next

To what extent is Zach…

To what extent is Zach Ludwig?

Umm, yes we'll take a flyer…

Umm, yes we'll take a flyer on another potential Ronnie Bell.....The original version will have some things about NFL route running to teach to the younger one over the summers....

If UM can’t get in people…

If UM can’t get in people from top academic schools like Cal Poly then they might as well say they don’t take undergrad transfers full stop

Whatever, beat Ohio and…

Whatever, beat Ohio and everything takes care of itself

any time you are within 3…

any time you are within 3 scores you are still in it, fluky stuff happens all the time and it forces you to keep the first stringers in...

agreed that was borderline…

agreed that was borderline bizarre, can no one else low down on the depth chart run for a yard or two without fumbling? Even if they did, still not worth risking your best player there

Having to run Corum 25-30…

Having to run Corum 25-30 times a game is a concern as well, it's a minor miracle he's held up so well this year....Edwards gets some carries here and there but there doesn't appear to be anything behind the two of them.  Up 29-7 with 4 and a half left or whatever it was, would have been nice if they could have given someone else the ball to run down the clock, but the coaches don't feel like they can go to the rest of the depth chart.

Suh was so clearly the best…

Suh was so clearly the best player in the country that year, it wasn't even close....but he didn't play on offense or return punts....then again, he's a hard guy to have a lot of sympathy for

It wouldn't have been a very…

It wouldn't have been a very Ferentz (or Iowa) like thing to go for it there...

Nice to see some petty…

Nice to see some petty whining by that OSU fan at the end....newsflash, you don't play in the SEC (yet), it's the B1G.....you have to win in November outdoors in the elements if you want to win the B1G...and uhhh home games are kinda a thing in the rivalry last time we checked....

I thought that Robbins 60 yarder was the hidden play of the game...Iowa gets a short field there and scores, it's a ballgame again....The least hidden play of the game was every time Hutchison blew up the Iowa OL and forced a hurried throw into the turf.....

as long as O'Brien isn't…

as long as O'Brien isn't asked to be a combo of a coach/GM he should be fine

This is the worst possible…

This is the worst possible news for the Bearcats...undefeated dream season, chance to play for a national championship as a mid-major and now it'll be a non-stop stream of "is our coach going to ND" for the next few months...

Great video, thanks for…

Great video, thanks for posting that!

exactly, he made a stupid,…

exactly, he (edit: Day) made a stupid, pointless comment that didn't help anyone, his own team included and just fired up the opposition more...like I said, I think these things are a wash because they matter very little in what happens on the field, which is decided by leaders like Hutchinson and Haskins along with the gameplanning that occurs away from the press box chatter, but I don't see what purpose they serve....

not much point in making…

not much point in making these kind of comments as it's just bulletin board material and doesn't serve any purpose for your side.... it's probably a wash though, not like either side has more or less motivation to win The Game and losing when your rival only completes 4 passes in the second half is going to stick in your head as a coach for a long time....hope Harbaugh and the staff get grounded quickly though, Iowa's a top 25 team, doesn't care about the rivalry and always seems to have something extra when they play UM

Woodson took a very good…

Woodson took a very good team to the truly great level by being the most dangerous player on the field every time he was out there on either side of the ball.  He was flat out the best player in the country that year.  Hutchison is a very good player and seems to be the leader of the defense.  I agree this one was special because it was a total team win.  Michigan won the game in every phase and as you said, everyone contributed to hold down one of the best teams in the country and then just break their will late by running straight down their throat and then sealing it on D...

agreed, if no pressure on…

agreed, if no pressure on Stroud it's a shootout and UM isn't a shootout type of team....we have two NFL DE's and their coaches know we have two NFL DE's.....it's on......Go Blue

Howard's also still figuring…

Howard's also still figuring out the rotations with all the roster turnover.  The team we see these next few weeks will not be the team we see in the tournament.

so now you're trying to fire…

so now you're trying to fire two people for cause and have to deal with the additional lawsuit from the supervisor you made into a patsy (who probably made that decision out of a huge committee meeting with many higher ups and notes would have been recorded)....I don't have the legal background to say who wins in this scenario, perhaps you do (and even then, doesn't it always depend on the lawyers and judges involved), but again it seems like if you were going to straight up fire the guy it'd have be as part of the punishment for the incident which they already handled in this case with a one game suspension....In terms of negotiating a lower buyout, I don't have any experience in that area with how that works, so can't comment there.....

suspending a guy for one…

suspending a guy for one game and then trying to turn around and fire him for the same thing a week later (without any new information coming to light) is asking for a massive lawsuit that you aren't likely to win....if they were going to fire him for cause it needed to be after that incident and even then it wasn't a clear cut thing and they'd be on shaky ground....

the fake FG was dumb, going…

the fake FG was dumb, going for it there would not have been....

actually kudos to the UW…

actually kudos to the UW fans, if you skip the first thread by some troll on their boards (and ppl going back and forth over how trolly this troll actually is, good times), the rest of it is a very rational discussion of context in relation to the severity of the incident and whether the suspension was appropriate.  Obviously, in the past this wouldn't have even been a thing and I'm guessing in the moment the player involved didn't even think about it other than maybe chastising himself for nearly drawing another 15 yard flag and having coach mad at him....That said, it's 2021, it was caught on video, the incident was over when the player was struck and so it sends a message that this kind of stuff isn't necessary anymore... As many of their posters said, the more damning facts for Coach Lake was the number of personal fouls in the game as a whole and that those kind of incidents happen in the first place (mixing it up with opposing team members on your sidelines after the play)....

great analysis as always…

great analysis as always....tbf, Rutgers was UM's worst played game of the year so there was much hand wringing after that one...

thanks for the correction in…

thanks for the correction in both areas, I thought we leaned on Haskins too much but with no other options what can you do...on to PSU.....

good effort in what must…

good effort in what must have been a slog for the players too, knowing bigger stuff coming down the road...I wonder if Edwards was hurt or if his fumbling issues earlier in the year kept the staff from going to him on what looked like a rainy night (I watched on stream, was hard to see if it was raining hard or just poor stream quality)....

when did Brady Hoke at…

when did Brady Hoke at Michigan ever beat a much more talented team like Tucker did to UM last year?

every team playing UM for…

every team playing UM for the rest of the season should look at having a tempo package to switch to after a few series...

I'm not agreeing or…

I'm not agreeing or disagreeing with the "likelihood" of McNamara leading a TD drive there...a poster above referenced an expected win % rating of 20% and he's not a top NFL QB so it's certainly not "likely"....I'm saying you have no idea whatsoever that Cade was rattled, unless you have sources who were on the sidelines that you are referencing.  You also don't know for sure in the moment that he wasn't going to convert, despite the statistics being against him (and not the near 0% stats that might as well be 0% stats).  You can go with hindsight and say "well he didn't convert" but you cant accurately say that he wasn't going to convert in the moment or after the fact when it was a 1 score game where UM had already shown an ability to move the ball through the air.  The final play was one of a million "game of inches" plays that could have gone either way if you replayed it 100 times.  Saying, "well he obviously wasn't going to get it done" is the kind of hot take stuff that has dominated sports writing/media in the past and still is strong to this day unfortunately.  It's also something that I think this site has tried to move beyond and I find it disappointing to see it here.

right.... because no QB has…

right.... because no QB has ever bounced back from a bad drive or a receiver made a big snag with the game on the line after having a few drops earlier...that never happens in sports in a 1 score game.... seems like as a poster said below, you came in with a Skip Bayless/Stephen Smith hot take based on what you were feeling as a frustrated fan and are choosing to die on this hill instead of just acknowledging you should stick to more factual stuff and leave these opinions to screaming heads on morning call-in shows...
