Michigan vs Johns Hopkins from Columbus on BTN.  Just turned it on at the start of the 2nd qtr and Michigan was in a 1-5 hole.  Hopkins scored to start the quarter and Michigan has answered with 3 straight.

4-6 and Hopkins is man up on a cross check.  Michigan kills the penalty.

Beautiful go ahead goal on a scramble situation following a sloppy failed ground ball by JHU.  Behind the back pass to the attack for a point blank shot.

Looked like a clean hit but Hopkins flagged for a X Check to end the half!   Big call as it gives Michigan free possession man up to start the 3rd.   Great quarter

Let’s go!   Kill this clock.  This is a program win against the #1 seed and LAX blue blood.  Boehm with 5 just willed this team back.   Excellent 2-4 quarters.  Go Blue!!!

Huge W.  Can't recall ever beating Johns Hopkins.  Came a long way from a club team similar to soccer.  Go Blue!

They are playing the B1G Tourney in Columbus..   Michigan defeated O$U in the first round - and defeated Hopkins in the semi finals.   Go Blue!

PSU beat Maryland 19-9.  Even with a loss to U-M, Penn State is 99.8% likely in the NCAA tourney.

(I suppose they could get left out, if the committee didn't want 4 B1G teams in the tournament - it's only a 17-team tournament and JHU & MD are locks.  But yikes, they'd be leaving out an 11-4 team with a 3-2 record against Top 10 schools.  The B1G has a bunch of legit good teams, as they often do).

So, Michigan is playing a team that may have somewhat less motivation.  Michigan is definitely win-or-out.

You're right - Penn State better make it, they certainly deserve it, especially after last night's dismantling of Maryland. In the last few weeks of the season I was thinking that PSU, Maryland and JHU are in and the last question is: Can Michigan be that 4th B1G team? If they beat just one of either Rutgers or Harvard I would say, they're in but an at-large still looks unlikely even w/ a win over #2 last night.  Penn State is definitely a strong team and Saturday should be a good game. If Michigan can play like that again they can definitely win though.

CRUZ: THanks for putting this together!  I've been insanely busy at work but I managed to catch some of the game last night but thanks for posting. I'm wondering if its good luck that I didn't get a chance to preview it haha.

Agree that if U-M had beaten Rutgers, they'd be well-positioned for an at-large.  Rutgers isn't even a bad team or a bad program, but as loss #6 it probably was a tipping point.  I checked, nobody in the 2020s has been an at-large with 6 losses.

Lacrosse is a fun sport, I've enjoyed getting into it the last few years (I flew out to Philly for the 2019 Final Four when PSU made it)!  Thanks for your posts, even if they miss tomorrow U-M's program has definitely turned the corner.
