New target (hard to miss) on the recruiting radar
Michai Boireau, 3* DL from Hampton, GA. Six-five, and depending on the website between 350 and 390. That *might* just be big enough to play DL. The usual SEC suspects are all over him, but reading the tea leaves, it seems like UM has a fighting chance. His OV is scheduled for June 23.
Huge opportunity!
Mammoth been used yet?
He is, as my old line coach used to say, a prominent citizen.
He’s frequently confused with Stone Mountain.
My boss is from the Howell / Pinkney area, so it's no surprise I confuse him for Hell
What about Baby Gronk? Any update on his recruitment? Is a visit scheduled?
Has cornerback written all over him.
Slot receiver.
Cornerback AND slot receiver after a magic incantation splits him in two?
He could go on the Russell Okung and be cornerback-sized by fall camp.
He's the stretch 400 we've been waiting for.
Let's get him returning punts. Ain't no gunner gonna want any piece of that!
How’s his pad level? Not /s
does this mean the DT that just visited cooled on us?
It could. Or it could mean a bunch of different things.
Yeah no shit man, please lay out the multiple factors and scenarios that could have led to this offer…..dipshit lol
I'll start with facts. We offered him 8 months ago, he is a fast rising prospect, fits the scheme, has mutual interest, put us in his top 8, has had a OV scheduled for probably atleast a month now, articles/predictions were put in for Michigan a month ago.
Or speculation: maybe he is higher ranked on their NT board, maybe they are both takes, maybe that battle is close to 50/50 with PSU and they are doing due diligence.
So yes, it could be many things. The fact that you went straight/could only concieve of "are we missing on this other guy?" makes you the dipshit which was the point of my sarcastic original comment.
Edit: even better Brice Marrich put in a CB for that "other DT" today as well.
Palepale?
Yes, does this mean we don’t think we will land him? Isn't he on campus this weekend?
Both 24/7 and On3 are saying very good things about Palepale today. So no. It doesn't nor ever did mean that. But they're smart to not put all their eggs in 1 basket.
Reading tea leaves, spilling tea.
Speaking of tea, does Michigan make sweet tea available to recruits from the south? This kid obviously likes to eat. Food and drink would affect my decision. Y'all may think it's dumb, but places without sweet tea on local menus just don't feel like home.
Does iced tea count? Every coffee place up north serves it--this is a legit question, btw. My various families left the south between 100 and 70 years age, and retained some southern tastes (greens made with fatback, rice with EVERY meal after breakfast, crawfish, chitlins, pig feet) but lost others. Is sweet tea like boiled peanuts, which you can't get anywhere here?
Not usually. I'd have to go to cracker barrel up there to get it near AA. It did contribute to homesickness for me. You ask for sweet tea and people bring you iced tea and sugar packets. Smh.
And yes, sweet tea was always available day in and day out at home for most people I knew growing up. You have to supersaturate the tea with sugar while it's still hot to get it sweet enough.
Okay--got you. Yeah, no one pre-sweetens. Point taken--sugar doesn't dissolve in cold liquids, so it winds up sitting at the bottom of the glass/cup. Most places up here offer syrup which should help.
You can tell syrup from sugar the same way you can taste the difference between coke and Mexican coke.
The tea needs to be strong since it's expected to be served over ice and will get watered down when the ice starts melting.
Except for the years I spent in AA, my dad boiled peanuts practically every football Saturday. We'd sit in front of the TV until there was a small mountain of shells on the table between us. If there were any left at the end of the ceremony, my dad would send them home with me.
Probably my favorite memory of my father.
He had some secret ingredient, ratio or something that I failed to acquire before I lost him, mine are never as good.
In the South (at least in NC where I lived for 20 years) there is no such thing as "iced tea." Tea is a beverage that comes sweetened in a glass with ice. "Unsweet tea" is what Yankees call iced tea.
I always thought a guy like that should be playing goalie.
Brandon Davis-Swain committed to Colorado. He is a former ND commit from West Bloomfield that was on Michigan's radar for a while. Number 201 on the 24/7 composite. But it seemed like interest from both sides was fleeting at best.
EDIT: Not saying the two are related. They project to different positions.
Let's just say he has a "neon" taste for football.
The newly signed Texas NIL law may change the playing field for getting him. Texas likes very big DL's. They have 7 now that are over 300.
This kid seems big enough to change the playing field on his own by stepping onto it. Sign this young mountain!
Beef fed kids
If I'm reading Brice Marich's twitter correctly, 4 new crystal balls for the good guys.
BLUE BALLIN OUT OF CONTROL
If there's one thing I enjoy reading on Mgoblog, its recruiting HUGE d-lineman. The days of Don Brown playing all sub-300 DL are long gone!
