Can any of them play outside receiver?
April 23rd, 2024 at 10:42 AM ^
Did anyone else sing this song in 2nd grade:
Over hill, over dale
As we hit the dusty trail,
And the Caissons go rolling along.
In and out, hear them shout,
Counter march and right about,
And the Caissons go rolling along.
Then it's hi! hi! hee!
In the field artillery,
Shout out your numbers loud and strong,
For where'er you go,
You will always know
That the Caissons go rolling along.
I know, Caissons/Cason, but I figure that's close enough.

I did in 3rd grade. It was part of a concert my elementary school had after Operation Desert Storm ended. We also sang the Marine Corps anthem/hymn (Halls of Montezuma), the Air Force anthem (Wild Blue Yonder) and Anchors Aweigh from the Navy.

One more PF or developmental C would be perfect, hopefully Rooths but we will need a C when Goldin leaves. Dusty May don't play!

hey WC, are you okay today? something eating at you? you kind of threw a shoe in that other thread. wondering if you got some bad news, something serious.
April 23rd, 2024 at 10:45 AM ^
Watching his highlights had me thinking "Wow, there's a lot to like here and once he goes through Camp Sander... oh wait sigh"
April 23rd, 2024 at 10:53 AM ^
Enough with the Camp Sanderson BS.
There are other S&C coaches who can get it done.
Time to move on.
April 23rd, 2024 at 11:00 AM ^
The AD hired 2 great strength coaches in Herbert and Sanderson before they were great. It is perfectly reasonable to be confident that the AD can repeat that performance.
April 23rd, 2024 at 11:44 AM ^
I have faith in Director of S&C Mike Favre. Just check out the guy's resume and list of accomplishments. It goes on for pages. (Is he the other bald dude that prowls the sidelines of M football games? Looks like a Herbert mini-me.)
April 23rd, 2024 at 12:15 PM ^
Agreed. A little too much nostalgia wishing for Sanderson, when the evidence of his impact waned in the last couple years. He is also at fault for not playing an adult in the incident with the Howards. I hope he is successful in his next stop, but his time here had passed.
Don’t need to tear the man down and make allegations that are made up. He was still transforming kids bodies and had a pretty low injury count by my estimation when he left. And nothing reported says anything other than he acted like a professional through all of KB and JJ’s reigns. We can move on but maybe do it classy style, just like everyone is all of the sudden insisting with Juwan (after a year of bashing the dude beyond his record alone) on this very same blog. We can treat the help just as good as we treat the talent and higher ups people.
Come on. Don't you know that Michigan is the only school to do strength and training? And they only did it because of those 2 guys.
April 23rd, 2024 at 12:20 PM ^
The main thing that left me bummed about losing Sanderson was that it would probably cost us his son as a recruit. But seeing how May is working the portal, I’m not worried about that anymore.
As far as the actual S&C stuff goes, I suspect most of these coaches are interchangeable, really.

RIP to Matt for having to write another Hell post.
April 23rd, 2024 at 12:30 PM ^
Those Hell posts are Hello on your writing ability...
April 23rd, 2024 at 12:41 PM ^
From a fan perspective though they are hella good!
April 23rd, 2024 at 10:50 AM ^
I have a gut feeling this isn't the last time he commits to Michgan today!
April 23rd, 2024 at 10:51 AM ^
Is this the recruit Brian was ok with on the podcast because he is athletic & twitchy and has a highlight film of defensive stops? Potentially a grow-a-Chaunde Brown type.
I thought I remembered that guy being 6'4"...this guy is listed at 6'2" per 247. So maybe a different guy.
April 23rd, 2024 at 10:54 AM ^
Chaundee is literally a 3 and D wing/guard. Cason is a true G who can handle and pass. Not the same type of player.
It speaks to the type of guards Dusty wants in his roster. He wants guards to be able to handle, pass, make good decisions and score.
April 23rd, 2024 at 11:16 AM ^
I think the word you were looking for was "no"
April 23rd, 2024 at 11:35 AM ^
I was trying to be nice
April 23rd, 2024 at 12:40 PM ^
Understood...i guess my point was that your response seemed a bit condescending/off topic. I asked if this was the FAU recruit Brian had previously mentioned liking for athleticism reasons, specifically mentioning that he could develop into a Brown type player given time and jump shot improvement. Your response explained to me what Brown was and how you see him as different than this guy, and also that Dusty May might look for different things than Brown in his guards. But did not specifically answer the question of whether or not this was the guy Brian was referring to.
It's cool though...we can still be friends. Go Blue!
April 23rd, 2024 at 11:08 AM ^
I think that was Rubin
April 23rd, 2024 at 11:25 AM ^
I believe the guy you are thinking of is one of the other FAU decommits, Elijah Elliot
April 23rd, 2024 at 12:32 PM ^
No. I know who you're talking about, but can't remember the name. But this kid isn't him. Casson is a HS recruit that was committed to Dusty at FAU, and decommitted when Dusty left for UM.
does not remind me of chandree at all. Reminds me of a little bit shorter Manny Harris but has a much better outside shot.
April 23rd, 2024 at 11:03 AM ^
I hope someone chimes in here on Casons ability, before the 3 star Mafia resurfaces and complains.
April 23rd, 2024 at 11:12 AM ^
That’d be me chiming in. He’s unranked and chose Michigan over Samford, Georgia Southern and others. #ConsiderItChimed
April 23rd, 2024 at 11:20 AM ^
Hey, you've gotta trust the new coach. No way these guys bring him in if he isn't a player of promise.
April 23rd, 2024 at 12:19 PM ^
He's unlikely to see much playing time in year one, but the coaching staff knows what he brings to the gym. At a minimum Cason will fill a nice role on the practice squad, and will have a chance to improve his game. Coach feels he has enough talent to give him a chance. What's not to like about trying to develop a guard with size and handle?
April 23rd, 2024 at 12:20 PM ^
My buddy just reminded me that Trey Burke was a 3 star, ya never know!
It's weird because everyone seems excited about this guy with a 3* 86 grade player that's the 22nd player in FL and half the board says Jace Howard (3*, 88 grade, 26 FL) never deserved a scholarship here.
April 23rd, 2024 at 11:10 AM ^
Impressive production!
24.5ppg
7.2rpg
6.4apg
2.5spg
I don't know anything about his shooting percentage or the level of competition, though.
April 23rd, 2024 at 12:15 PM ^
Michigan could have a 6 foot-3 pg…..that’s crazy. Bring out the subs!
April 23rd, 2024 at 12:22 PM ^
Dude gets buckets, I love how hard he drives tot he rim. Looks thick, finishes through contact, great body control. He looks more explosive in this video than the few I found on youtube, I imagine these are the type of under the radar recruits that got FAU to the Final 4.
April 23rd, 2024 at 11:49 AM ^
It's astounding how quickly Coach May was able to put together a roster.
April 23rd, 2024 at 12:52 PM ^
What? We're bringing in another guard and the guards already on the roster aren't immediately transferring out because they might have to compete for minutes???
I feel like everytime I log on, we have a new commit. Dusty sure ain't no joke when it comes to making it happen! Can't wait to see them on the court!
