And so the off-season of basketball BPONE begins.

Michigan can't bring Howard back and then claim "we're the leaders and best".  It would send the complete opposite message to the alumni, fans, and sports world.

Reaching only 8 wins after starting the season 3-0 is pretty wild.  Losing 9 straight to finish the season, and going 2-19 over the last 21 games is preposterous.  Glad it's over.  Go blue!

I assume Dug will leave. Possibly Jace leaves (dependent on his dad). Reed could leave.

"Best" case next year:

Christian Anderson
GWIII
YoYo
Tschetter
Reed

I mean, obviously we have to go back into the portal for half the roster and find guys who are grad transfers, I guess.

So, no, this is not "over." We're still in the middle of it.

News that Louisville fired Kenny Payne was out around noon yesterday after a season ending loss to NC State Tuesday night.   They were 8-24 in his second season after 4 wins his first (and only 13-19 the prior year under Chris Mack).   He played on a national championship team for Denny Crum in the 80s and coincidentally has a son on this years roster.

Just sayin.

The Howard hire was reasonable at the time, and looked great after two years and still decent after three. It might have worked out if some things had gone differently, but now it's clearly time to move on.
