In terms of NC- Penn St- still dead, ND- very dead, Nebraska- extremely dead
For B10 Championship- who knows? B10 schedule difficulty varies so much depending on the team that winning the Big 10 if you aren't Michigan or OSU will likely just mean that you were gifted an easy schedule.
If we care about winning the B10, Michigan will be facing a more difficult schedule than average every year due to our rivalry game with OSU- Not worth worrying about since this will change again as soon as the B10 adds some more teams. I'd argue that no B10 Team should have a schedule that doesn't include 1 of the top 3 teams (Michigan, OSU, Oregon)
Michigan has 4 2023 Top 10 Teams on our schedule in 2024- compare that to
Henderson was the #1 back in recruiting rankings so the guy can recruit. I am a bit worried about talent identification and development because Michigan's history with 5 star RBs isn't great.
Michigan RBs performed much better in big games than Henderson/OSU RBs (this may be more of a Henderson thing). Big runs by Mich backs in key games:
Haskins 5 TDs & can't be stopped vs OSU in 2021
The Don - 75 & 85 yd TDs vs OSU 2022
Corum key TD run in OT Alabama, game saving 4th down catch Alabama
Corum key TD run against OSU after Zinter injury
Edwards 2 TD runs early versus Washington to win the game
Corum 4th Qtr TD run versus Washington to cement the win

I think they are right on Henderson just being ok but didn't OSU get a great RB in the portal this year? RB coach has to get some credit for that I think.
With exception of Teague and IMHO arguably Henderson those are great recruits. Elliot was a generational talent, Dobbins compares reasonably well with Corum and Weber was solid.
OSU paid a lot to retain Henderson and a good number of other players.
In the portal, OSU downgraded on QB based on 2023 QBR ratings & recruiting rankings
Brought in a very good safety - which was an issue in 2022, not as much in 2023
Their biggest portal get was at RB but OSU had a pretty good running back room from 2021-2023. Do we really think that Henderson is going to suddenly be better than he was the last 3 years?
The lost- their best Edge rusher, best passing QB ever (Stroud), Best WR (Marvin Harrison) who was constantly referred to as The Best Player in college football.
They certainly may beat Michigan and Vegas gives them a 20% (+500) chance at a National Championship. I'll be shocked if their offense is as good as 2021 or 2022.
So, since Winovich announced the revenge tour Michigan has broken:
Wisconsin - shell of the program they used to be-
Washington- completely rebuilding staff and players
Iowa- Tried to turn O around with ex-M players, worked out in B10 West- won't work long term, lost to M last 3 games and 2 B10 Championships were not competive
OSU- same players coming back from last year except worse QB & no Marvin Harrison = for sure national championship?
Alabama- Best modern day head coach retires, 30! players transfer, complete rebuild
Football and Men's basketball (and hopefully women's bball) need to taken out of the NCAA's purview.
The NCAA is just a governing body that the 350 or so NCAA div. 1 members want in place. As a successful football school and recently successful Bball school do we really want small schools with tiny budgets controlling the organization that Michigan is part of?
The alleged sign stealing issue wouldn't even exist if the NCAA didn't create a rule to protect schools with less money.
For non-revenue sports the power 5 should probably create their own organization because the NCAA has lost all credibility.
Bids should match what each conference brings to the table so this looks about right.
Next step is we need to have Team TV value better match conference payouts. It makes no sense that Rutgers gets the same amount as OSU or Michigan.
Due to the way conference decisions are made it is unlikely that this will be rectified until the new B10/SEC super conference is in place- which I believe is in the next 4 years.
If you look at the worst teams to make the 4 team college playoff they were;
MSU
Cincinnati
Notre Dame
2 out of 3 were not B10 or SEC teams & with the new B10 top 4 should be U of M, OSU, Penn State & Oregon most years- those should be competitive teams although I'm sure Frames and 3rd base will continue to underperform against top 5 teams.
NittanyFan is correct, sometimes you eat the bear, sometimes he eats you!
I was at the Michigan OSU game this year and there were far fewer OSU fans in attendance and those that were there were miserable. On my way to celebrate on field I saw this OSU fan who had been highlighted on camera after The Don's 75 yard TD run in 2022 - He was not happy!
This is worse than Richrod football- While I'm not a Richrod fan, we had a good number of entertaining games vs Notre Dame, beating Wisconsin as part of the 3-8 season, and any game that Denard played in prior to Hoke trying to make him an under center QB.
Bball fans fickle? I for one don't have the ability to enjoy going to a sporting event knowing that the team I root for is 95% likely to lose and that it will do so in a painful manner. Usually will have a lead at half time and then have it slip away due to bad defense and turnovers.
Seriously- what does he bring to the table? He's overseen an abusive Hockey coach, failed to help right the ship in basketball, hated Harbaugh who is now IMHO the GOAT Michigan football coach.
With NIL becoming legal to use to recruit players openly (thank you Tenessee!), we need a more forward looking AD who doesn't have damaging friendships such as Jim Singleton.
I think OSU is better than almost all community colleges. OSU purports to have high entrance requirements in terms of GPA & test scores.
However, they can not attract enough students so they allow anyone to enroll in one of their satellite campuses and then transfer to the main campus after 1 year.
My oldest daughter took a semester of college classes at OSU while she was in high school. She said the classes were really easy.
UCLA has to appreciate Chip Kelly leaving of his own accord! Kelly must really want out- he's giving up a current salary of 5.8M and probably getting less than $2M/year at OSU.
OSU has had a better recruiting group than most NFL teams over the last 3 years along with a #2 drafted generational QB and the #1 2021 RB recruit- and we know how that worked out for them.
I'm good with Michigan's strategy. Maybe running the ball with a top defense isn't what every fan would like to see but I'll take what works over what attracts top ranked receivers.
Rewatch the 2020 Alabama game- Michigan had a 5* and high 4* star receiver in that game. However, they dropped a number of balls and were much less effective than Roman Wilson and CJ. I'll take clutch players like CJ and Roman over hyped players every time.
Most people did not understand that the team was not able to have in person practices while many other states had far less restrictive Covid rules which that year provided a huge advantage-
Warde needs to go- just his friendship with Jim Singleton should be enough for Santa to know that he doesn't show good judgement.
Personally I love Harbaugh- I love the fact he speaks his mind, I love that he stirs the pot and is willing to speak the truth even when people don't want to hear it.
However, most Billionaire owners struggle to have someone work for them like Harbaugh because he is willful and speaks his mind. So, while many NFL owners would like the results that Jim would create, not many of them are willing to pay the price required of control and having someone who isn't a yes person.
The goal is to make the true context of the situation plain so that decisions are made on a win versus the NCAA basis rather than some lawyers worrying about theoretical outcomes.
Yes but every time an OSU recruit decommits an Angel gets their wings!
Seriously, Michigan beat OSU this year by a lot of small cuts- if the same thing happens with their recruiting class it will be glorious!
OSU had the #2 recruiting class in when Ewers committed- I would think that OSU's ranking would have been lower that year without Ewers since he was the #1 overall recruit O
OSU won't have much left from their 2021 class after this year-
Henderson is good against bad defenses and bad against good defenses- he's kind of the optimal back that Michigan would like OSU to have. Their other backs have been more effective so I kind of hope that Henderson is back.
I wasn't super impressed with Bama vs Georgia- Georgia gave up a key touchdown on a fourth down long yardage play when Georgia chose not to cover the RB when he released late.
Georgia fumbled on their own 11 which & then held Bama to 3 points and but that field goal was the difference.
Georgia had a chance for at least 3 interceptions but didn't catch any of them.
Alabama's line looks weakest on the inside which plays to Michigan's strength. Bama's left tackle can be beaten and holds a lot, their RT was really solid- I didn't see anyone get the best of him
Milroe does look fast and hard to tackle- our rushers and linemen will need to be positionally sound.

Pretty obvious they were referring to Warde - on people Jim Harbaugh didn't love- video makes it clear that Harbaugh loved the players and coaches.
Unfortunately we seem to be stuck with Warde until/unless he does something stupid - maybe we can introduce him to Mel Tucker?
dragonchild- you don't find joy in watching a program in year 5 that is coached by a beloved former M player spiral into collapse!
I stopped watching after the first 8 games- wasn't worth turning on even when we had a lead at half time!
They were trading signatures and OSU apparel for drugs- The media portrayed it as tats but that was a minor part of the payments
Some people don't want to play school!
Great trade of Andrew Dakich for Roddy-
I really don't miss hearing from Dan Dakich
There are lies, damn lies, and statistics
Some similarities in record- although Holtmann had 2 bad years in his job before Butler and only 3 years at Butler.
IDK what happened to him at Ohio State- seems like he lost the players and wasn't great at roster construction.
He had a good record every year but his first year at Colorado State. He very much runs a system and doesnt' rely on getting top talent-
Plus his future relative (Piter) is a Mentat-
What is this basketball you speak of?
Stephenrjking- first, love your early books but I think your talent is waning
Something is off with Howard's coaching- maybe he feels to much pressure and that is ruining the team.
This year's team was off to a good start and then Juwan returned and everything turned to shit. To me, that is enough of an a/b comparison.
If Sherrone went 3-1 and then Harbaugh took over and went 8-20 I think we'd all agree where the problem is.
Howard should have left due to medical reasons after his surgery-
This year's bball team was killing it until Juwan returned- then they fell off a cliff

Apple is much less evil than Google, which is ironic since Google's mission statement was "Don't be evil"
Thanks NittanyFan- I appreciate you and your PSU team being happy with being 3rd or 4th best in the B10 every year.
PSU has a very favorable schedule so who knows? If you had a coach other than Frames Janklin I'd say that PSU has a chance to win the B10 in 2024.
