Does this mean BVS might be looking elsewhere? Or is this more so due to the coaching shakeups?

Edit: Haven’t been on MGoBlog all day...missed the BVS transfer rumor lower on the board.

I'll cop to believing that they would be unrelated, mostly because it's not unreasonable for a guy deep in the depth chart to want to go elsewhere.  And honestly, if this is a "package deal" for a school I'm not sure they're going to have a ton of highly-ranked takers.

Wish both of them luck, but unless there was mistreatment at UM I'd be surprised if he left simply to play a year with his brother.

I mean it may be trivial to most, but I’m sure some brothers look forward to that immensely. It’s clear that Michigan was in a better place as a program than ASU, yet Josh Christopher wanted a chance to play and be around his brother(Caleb a PG on ASU) again. Especially in these uncertain times, I’m sure not having your family fly around the country visiting kids at 2 different schools play a factor as well.

The two issues don't necessarily have to be mutually exclusive. I certainly agree that AVS may strongly desire to play where BVS ultimately ends up. At the same time, if he knows Nolen is another target for the staff, and Nolen is strongly considering committing, perhaps that's an additional reason for the decommitment.

I would highly doubt recruiting Nolan would cause AV to leave and that his brother’s timing is coincidental.

The Nolan recruiting is a long way off for that matter and you have a lower ranked DT in the class already.

DTs rotate to stay fresh. Good players on the DL love playing with other good players that make them look good and occupy the OL.

All very good points you made. I was not trying to disagree with AVS exiting the class because of his brother's transfer. In all likelihood, that is the primary reason. I was merely trying to point out that perhaps with the recent smoke about Nolen, that perhaps AVS knows the staff are going to be adding another DT and doesn't think he fits in anymore. Just another potential reason. You are likely correct when it comes to Nolen's recruitment being far from over.

I always appreciate optimism.  I was super fired up about Alex’s game.  It’s hard to understand how things happen the way they do.  I’m hoping like hell this isn’t a McCaffery situation....you can’t make everyone happy and there’s two sides to a story but dang.

Odd...well, maybe makes sense is if after having seen us land 3 DT this round and now sees the Nolen chatter, that he wants to leave options open in case they do land Nolen.
