So Harbaugh got everything he was asking for from Michigan and still decided to go to the NFL and Bacon is framing it as a Michigan problem? Hard to take anything JUB is putting out on this issue seriously. If Harbaugh and the University are still negotiating the terms of the contract, then obviously it's not finished??? It's becoming obvious that JUB is operating as some sort of Harbaugh mouth-piece in this episode and I don't see how he retains any credibility here. Just a month or so ago we were hearing that Michigan had presented him with a new contract that would make him like the highest or second highest paid coach in CFB.
I'm no fan of Warde and I honestly think that Michigan should move on from him and find a serious upgrade in the AD's office, but pinning this all on him seems unfair. Every contract negotiation has two sides. What if it's Harbaugh that's being unreasonable in all this? Seems that could well be the case IMO. Also, if Harbaugh is serious about testing out his NFL options, then wouldn't he be the one holding up the negotiations? Just seems like this is all dogpiling for dogpile's sake and JUB is happy to point the finger at UM and Warde.
If Orji is the starter going into the season then we're in trouble. Will need to rely heavily on the defense to win games against a much much tougher schedule. Could see us losing 3-4 games if Orji starts.
That offensive depth chart is not confidence-inspiring in any way. Need quite a lot of transfer business to get done on that end. Primarily should be looking for a QB1 and an outside WR or two. Could do with another TE in the Barner mold and potentially another OL to compete with and possibly supplant Hinton. Defense should be nails again though.
When will this win feel real? I was at the Rose Bowl. I felt that oh so familiar sinking feeling when Alabama went up by a touchdown in the fourth quarter. All hope seemed lost then. Just like it had all my life. Unlike many here, I've grown up with the Michigan program being a fabled story; nothing tangible that I could ever experience first-hand. For me, they were like a prime fighter from the old days that ancient barbers would exalt at the only place in town with an actual barber's pole. My dad finished grad school at Michigan a few years before the 1997 championship. In 2020 I wanted Harbaugh gone, and I honestly still believe that it would have been deserved if he had been fired. I had grown up conditioned to believe in nothing but painful Michigan moments. Yet this team, this amazing group of players and coaches, has finally unshackled me from that cynicism. This program dented that pessimism with the unbelievable win over Ohio State in 2021. They quelled my doubt with that fateful 4th quarter drive in the Rose Bowl to send it to overtime. And now they have completely shattered the attitude I carried about this program my entire life. Thank you team 144. Go Blue.

Correction: our offensive coaching is shooting the team in the foot and the defensive coaching is playing a little risky but mostly getting it right. Half the coaching staff has been excellent

He’s had like 2-3 errant throws total. The other incompletions have been drops or just excellent coverage plays by the defense. There’s been multiple times where every receiver is blanketed and he just throws to the first read anyways. We’re not effectively attacking washington’s weaknesses with pass plays.
Fucking around with Orji plays… never run your actual dual threat starting QB… fucking around with lame ass 5-7 yard outs with 0 elite receiving options… don’t threaten the middle of Washington’s pass defense even once… lots of offensive errors

Yes absolutely. Texas defensively is just as mediocre as Washington except for their two elite interior DLinemen. But the rest of their defense is not scary whatsoever. Honestly, the Texas secondary might be worse than Washington's. And there is no way everyone wouldn't rather see our DL swarming Ewers and sacking him 5+ times as he struggles to get anything going. Plus, Deboer has demonstrated he's a better playcaller in college than Sark.
And we also needed 18 possessions to score those 45 points, which is not good. Hasn’t this been discussed here already? The offensive game plan going into the TCU game wasn’t good last season and it took far too long for Michigan to adjust and get to stuff that worked, I thought that was like an agreed upon thing.
honestly the game plan against Alabama was so superior compared to the TCU one that I would be surprised if they came into this game against Washington and reverted back into the ‘21-‘22 shell of slamming RBs into stacked boxes. Better execution on offense against Alabama (JJ making some better decisions and throws, Morgan and Edwards not dropping passes, Corum playing the whole game like that last TD run, etc.) and Michigan probably scores another 7-10 points in regulation.
If you saw how poorly Florida was shooting you’d realize that lead is pretty tenuous. 8 turnovers by Michigan and giving up loads of offensive rebounds.
Absolute must get. WR room is going to be barren with Wilson and Johnson departing. Adding this guy, who thrived in an otherwise anemic IU offense, to Semaj and Loveland would make for a pretty solid receiving corps.
It's certainly not a vintage Bama team, but with how Michigan has been playing recently, especially on offense, this it a pretty worrying matchup. And to make matters worse, Jalen Milroe is absolutely the most dynamic and threatening QB we'll have come up against all season.
It will be my first ever Rose Bowl and CFP experience and I'd really like Michigan to put up or shut up at this point.
