My act of contrition for my sins will be to watch JOK play today.
Surely God will accept that for not doing penance nor confessing in like 35 years.

Metellus dropping that ball and the JOK "lost oportunities" .. painful.
But at least no blow out.

Why can't we play ZOne on 3rd and long?

All I have to say is if you have an offense like OSU's that allows you to plug a raw QB in on one of the better D's and march back to back drives down the field, you have a better system for the college game, period. Anyone who blames the players for the offense's problems is 100% wrong. It's the system. JH is going to have to learn from this season and realize he needs to adapt to the college game and not expect another Andrew Luck to lift his pro system, otherwise we're looking at Lloyd era success level all over again.
I've posted a few hundred times on this site and never have I been more sure of a statement than the one I just made.
JH is our coach, we love him, but his offensive system is not ideal for college, and gets QBs hurt. Adapt. Add the mobile QB dimension that OSU has used for the last 15 years to give them the edge over us, as evidenced again today.
Ignore the ill-conceived apologists who say "we're young" "it's our 3rd string QB." Those are all false reassurances of an obvious, systemic, schematic problem.
Demote Drevno, bring in an elite college OC as the counterpoint to Brown.

There are at least 8 QBs I've watched this season. Several of them F or RS, that would have won by 14. Even with this officiating.

JOK is simply awful.

If after he trips, why not run it twice if you know you are going for it?
JOK is not making any plays throwing the ball 3rd and 4th down. Just bad play calling given your knowledge of how awful JOK is..

The Coaching staff deserves a ton of criticism.
From not playing some zone on 3rd down and long distance to JOK ever seeing a meaningful snap for the program.
Harbaugh is the root of these failures b/c he falls in love with personalities and not performance. Metellus instead of a Dime/Nickel and mostly JOK are easily 3 of the 4 losses.

I doubt you can honestly say JH fell in love with his 3rd string qb. It's simply the only guy he has left absent burning a redshirt.
Ubiquitous blame the refs comment. (2nd half wasn't so bad, but I wish there was some venue in which I could place money on big10 official biased calling in favor of the favored big10 team). 2 nonexistent holding calls vs Um/ rediculous missed block in the back and PI on 3rd down on a good drive resulted in 2 touchdowns that should have been punts and a punt that could have been at least a FG. At a minimum it should reasonably have been 14-0 at half, probably 17-0. Still, you can't win with 3rd place/3rd string in any venue, regardless of defensive strategizing. End of the day to me the loss boils down to that JOK(e) throw to two "wide open" osu safeties, not explicitly the play itself, but as an exampe. Tons of overthrown/missed throws, running into tackles, etc. However with a more experienced UM team returning next year, if the bg10 officiating does not improve vs the apparent underdog next year (even if the calls should go vs UM), we should leave the conference. Sooner or later bad officiating is going to drag down the conference itself (IE playoff committiees are going to say wait a minute, wisconsin really lost to OSU even though the refs called it for them. That was an obvious toutchdown called a non-toutchdown. Therefore neither team makes it in).
My two solaces are that 1) hopefully UM gets a marginally good SEC team for a bowl game and with good player health in a month and non-big10 refs, just goes to town, and 2) remember all you haters, this was a rebuilding year. UM came in with the what, 127th most senior team in the country? Let's remember that.
