Twitter sources: FAU C Vlad Goldin committing to Michigan
Debated posting because it's kind of a sketchy source, but it's good news so I choose to believe it. Plus I didn't want the NCAA's bullshit at the top of the posts anymore.
SOURCE: FAU center Vlad Goldin will commit to Michigan. The 7-foot-1, 240-pound center took a big step forward last year, averaging 15.7 points, 6.9 rebounds and 1.6 blocks in 25 minutes per game. Big get for Michigan coach Dusty May, who coached Goldin the last 3 years at FAU.
Great get. Dusty is building.
Starting with the press conference, attitude towards NIL, starting work at 5am, assistant coach hiring etc, Dusty is cookin like a mad scientist.
I wish these young men would stop carefully considering their futures and instead just all suddenly commit to Michigan so we not-so-young men and women could stop obsessing about their decisions.
Think of the children? Nah. Think of those of us who long ago were children!
Some of us never grew up! :D
Speak for yourself, poopy-face!
Fart and poop humor will never not make me laugh.
As my son would say, let Dusty cook!!!!
As far as I'm concerned, Dusty May cook.
Strangely enough I actually know someone named Dusty Cook
Nice to have a really tall guy again!
One down. Now lets get Davis, Wolf, one of the Auburn PGs, and then we will be rolling and can fill out the rest.
Great news. Hopefully they can add Wolf and that's a nice front court to work with.
Goldin God and The Wolf. Yes, please.
Bball trending up, football trending down?
In fairness, football has nowhere to go but down.
In fairness, BBall has nowhere to go but up.
Its fucked up how many times this program goes from a football school to a basketball school to a footb........
It's always has been a football school, even during RR and Hoke, and always will be.
Eh during our losing streak to Ohio, punctured with Final Four appearances, I used the 'basketball school' excuse happily.
An age old story
i THINK i SEE WHAT YOU'RE dOING HERE
nice. i hear its him or the wolf. guess id rather have this guy since he's familiar with the coach and system. Get it goin! We need 11 more!!!
Where did you hear that?
Read in a couple places (though I thought one was here on the front page, which it wasn't).. that they wouldn't be likely to take 2 7-footers who are true centers.. i would think it wouldnt be the worst thing for Michigan... they don't play the same way... but I could imagine as a transfer, I don't know if I'd go somewhere with someone who I'd have to share minutes with..
I saw Wolf play a couple games for Yale. He could be a stretch 4, but I wouldn’t play him many minutes with Goldin. It’s just that we’ve been so thin depth-wise at center ever since Austin Davis graduated that our centers play really tentatively on defense, afraid of getting in foul trouble. It would be nice to have 2 solid 5s to share ~45-50 minutes per game.
You're not wrong! I don't know enough about how Dusty likes to make lineups at this point, so no clue what's reasonable.
As a transfer, I'd say its a tough sell to share minutes as a 7 foot big.. especially after the year ooga Edey had... not to say they're anything like him, but... it shows what can be possible, even in this era of positionless bball.
I hope we get both if they're good players. we havent had good depth at anything in the past few years... shooting, centers, point guards, defen.. meh. we dont need to b* anymore. got what i wanted, now lets see if May can deliver.
What you are hearing seems to be different from what has been said here.
And they don't need 11 more, they need 9.
9 more is fine by me
Not a surprise but still a nice pickup. Let's keep them coming.
Careful here....this account you posted from has a blue check mark (which no longer signify verified but merely a paid account) but also has only roughly 2000 followers. Could still be true but just be wary here
I said in literally the first sentence of the post:
Debated posting because it's kind of a sketchy source
I thought that clarified things for the board, but apparently not?
Brian, Seth and the MGoPodCast crew said it was 100% this past weekend.
Truly a get of a Big if true
Athletic Jon Teske per his highlight tape. Good foundational player
