I seem to recall a two-way star who won consecutive national chamionships and then went on to become president. Not that becoming president makes him the best center in M history, but Cole would be in elite company just to be among the top 5 centers.
If it turns out he does have interest, and Michigan can get a deal worked with him, wouldn't that be better to have a very good coach in place than waiting for the possibility that Harbaugh might come and might be a better coach?

I thought Mario made some really athletic plays in his limited opportunities. It's too bad he didn't get a RS, because his ceiling as a pass-rusher seems pretty high, but he'll only have a year left after Clark leaves.
Tajh Boyd is not a "pocket passer" in any traditional sense. He's rushed over 10 times a game and has 4 TDs in the ground.
While Murray is generally categorized as a pocket passer, he definintely has great mobility, and rushed for nearly 200 yards his first 2 years as a starter.
Including the section at the bottom, which compared Gee's salary and expenses with Coleman and the president of Texas? There is a huge difference. And Michigan still raised far more than OSU.
It will be interesting to see if Mattison's record of improving against the run in the second year can be maintained.
Also, I understand you're just looking at numbers and extrapolating, but there's no way that we recover 2 fumbles a game this year. According to cfbstats.com, in the past 5 years the most fumbles in a season a team has recoved is Buffalo, with 26 in 14 games in 2008. And that's a definite anomaly, as BYU was second in the past 5 years w/ 21 in 13 games, also in 2008. I do like seeing the numbers and charts, but that's a nearly impossible projection.

There is a large difference between 185 and 159 lbs.
26 lbs, to be precise. Which is a lot to add for a player at a position that relies on speed and quickness.
