In a single thread because…

In a single thread because anyone who agrees with Maizen gets accused of being Maizen.

I posted three threads that I created this past season in my response to you that would make it pretty clear to anyone who frequents the board that I am not Maizen. Does he seem like the type who would look for silver linings after the Ohio State and Notre Dame games?

Edit:

Here is the thread.

If you want to say I could have held off on a few replies, sure fine. But claiming I'm Maizen because I agreed with him in this thread and was arguing with people over a legit point (that the Fields transfer is different than the Solomon transfer) is overly harsh.

The only comfort I take from…

The only comfort I take from this is thinking of the difference between the Penn State 2017 game and Penn State 2018 game.

I would like my account…

I would like my account reinstated as I was banned for being accused of being Maizen. If you looka at my posting history its clearly not true.

Then I just made a nonsense name, Scootertooter, that was banned because I had the audacity to agree with Maizen in a thread where a bunch of people were seriously pretending like Georgia losing their back-up QB was the same thing as Aubrey Solomon transferring. How someone who could have posted positive threads after the Notre Dame game and the Ohio State game could be confused with Maizen is beyond me, but hey, you do you mgowill. Modding is an emotional game.

I'd like my account (ScooterTooter) to be reinstated. Mgowill banned me because he accused me of being Maizen. If you look at my posting history, its clearly not true:

I was westward wolverine …

I was westward wolverine (because I moved out west), but was then banned for a joke political post at a sensitive time. Still think that was overly harsh, but oh well. I do find it a little annoying that a lot of the people making serious political posts weren't banned.

Can only draw one conclusion…

Can only draw one conclusion from this:

More Glasgows please.

UT for sure.

Who wouldn't…

UT for sure.

Who wouldn't want to play for a school that was 5-7 last year?

One that was 2-6 in conference play?

One that got blasted by 25 points by a 6-6 Vanderbilt squad their final game of the season?

Nothing screams football success like those numbers.

If you factor in Patterson,…

If you factor in Patterson, Michigan kind of took two last year.

Given the number of players…

Given the number of players in this range who rose into 4-star types after they committed in this past class, I'd have to imagine we will see a bump in his rankings.

It's probably Tennessee.

It's probably Tennessee.

Good to see the Vols parlay their surprising success this season into a highly regarded recruiting class.

Such a lucrative shot for…

Such a lucrative shot for those that had the Michigan money line!

The brief glimmer of hope in…

The brief glimmer of hope in September 2009 promises to be depressing.

!!!!!!!

!!!!!!!

Hill obviously.

Charbonnet…

Hill obviously.

Charbonnet looks really good. I like the idea of he and Evans splitting carries.

The DTs will probably have to be ready.

Has there been any rumor of…

Has there been any rumor of this or is this just fan panicking?

Fields, I doubt he's as…

Fields, I doubt he's as accurate as Haskins.

Yeah, some idiot on the…

Yeah, some idiot on the baseball team was in the stands and shouted a racial slur. He got kicked off the team and expelled (I think).

How would this translate to immediate playing time?

Can anyone confirm how he…

Can anyone confirm how he would play immediately? I keep seeing this and it doesn't make any sense.

Whoa, who could have…

Whoa, who could have possibly seen it coming that Georiga would be able to pull a 4-star QB into their class after losing their back-up QB.

Love the Alabama hat in the…

Love the Alabama hat in the middle.

This fills out a complete,…

This fills out a complete, high level class. Great work by the staff.

Such a huge get. Exact type…

Such a huge get. Exact type of player Michigan has lacked since...don't even know. And exactly what the team needs to compete with OSU's athletes on offense.

Now, if just one of Long and Hill could be convinced to stay one more year....

It worked!

It worked!

Really aren't we just…

Really aren't we just waiting to find out if Long and Hill are sitting?

Could be right.

By all…

Could be right.

By all accounts Bush, Gary and Higdon are sitting.

Seems like the CBs might play.

Right, but that's mainly…

Right, but that's mainly luck.

Dantonio fluked into a Big Ten title Harbaugh's first season in the conference on the back of the Blake O'Neill dropped punt.

James Franklin lost 49-10 to Michigan the year he won.

Wisconsin just finished 7-5 in one of the weakest divisions in college football (which is why they play in the conference title game frequently).

Harbaugh has been extremely unlucky in his time at Michigan.

...But were they?

What was…

...But were they?

What was the best defensive performance of the season?

And by that, when did they shut down a healthy, quality opponent?

I would say Wisconsin is probably #1, but even that game hinged somewhat on Wisconsin's coaching staff's questionable decisions and going away from Jonathon Taylor.

Notre Dame they got blitzed for a half by a QB who was later benched.

Northwestern...maybe? Allowed three drives then nothing? Even then, Northwestern had just lost their starting RB for the season.

Nebraska had a good offense, but Martinez was hurt when he played Michigan.

MSU's QB was hurt, they were down a number of receivers and lost their last quality one during the game.

PSU's QB was hurt.

The defense gave up a number of questionable plays in the two games leading up to the Ohio State game.

I think Michigan got sucked into the mirage that was the #1 ranking that was largely based on playing inferior opposition all year. Explains why they weren't prepared at all to cope with the idea of Brandon Watson being unable to be on the same field as Ohio State's skill guys.

How does that work? Why…

How does that work? Why would he be able to play immediately?

I think I can tell you what…

I think I can tell you what happened:

1. Michigan's defensive line consisted of two okay guys in the middle and two stars playing through injury on the outside. Their one guy who might have been able to push through the middle didn't play. Thus Michigan was able to get no pressure on an Ohio State OL that was able to double the outside guys while single-blocking the middle. On top of this, OSU's line inexplicably played better than they had all year, handling any blitz Michigan threw their way.

2. Brandon Watson's lack of athleticism and the staff's lack of an answer for it once exposed contributed to all three of OSU's first half touchdowns. Watson got burned on the first two TDs and gave up a PI on 3rd and 17 on the third drive.

3. Zach Gentry had an awful game. His inability to battle for the ball cost Michigan a first half TD. His two second half drops cost Michigan field position, first downs and indirectly led to the blocked punt and interception that turned a 27-19 game into a 41-19 game.

4. For whatever reason, despite finally have the more mobile QB, Michigan wasted Shea Patterson's legs and probably ran the ball too much, despite having the weapons to test OSU's secondary.

Truthfully, the bigger opportunity was 2016. Michigan was far closer in talent to that OSU team, more experienced and our defense was a legit monster that year. The missed plays, bad calls and bad luck down the stretch are still haunting the program.

2019 is kind of the last…

2019 is kind of the last chance to make the leap in the Harbaugh era. And what makes me wary is that to do so, we will have to see Michigan's offense play like they never really have in the Harbaugh era as they likely won't have as good of a defense to back them up.

QB: Patterson (though if you told me Patterson leaves and Haskins stays, I'd probably just shrug and never watch Michigan football again).

RB: Evans, Turner, Charbonnet

FB: Mason

TE: McKeon, Gentry, Eubanks

WR: DPJ, Collins, Black, Martin, Bell

OL: Runyan, Bredeson, Ruiz, Onwenu, Stueber/Mayfield

That's an incredibly high level of talent. There's a favorable schedule. The Buckeyes have a new coach and The Game is at home.

Now or never.

Eh, I think Michigan is…

Eh, I think Michigan is pretty firmly established as the #2 program in the Big Ten.

3-1 vs Penn State

2-1 vs Wisconsin

2-2 with a gigantic asterisk against MSU.

I mean facts-wise:

Michigan…

I mean facts-wise:

Michigan picked up two very good recruits, but lost their absolute best recruit, the exact type of player who helps immediately in dealing with Ohio State's WRs.

Aubrey Solomon, if healthy, would likely have been our best DL next year. Fields, while immensely talented, was Georgia's back-up QB.

Rashan Gary sitting out the bowl game makes sense. As it does for Grier. But Michigan is potentially looking at something like 5-6 guys sitting out. Which of course is a little different.

Honestly, the "facts" people all seem to be a little off.

Michigan blew a huge opportunity this year and its probably going to take a monster season next year to correct the course.

Easy there Diagonal Blue.

Easy there Diagonal Blue.

Yeah, we weren't even close…

Yeah, we weren't even close to the same accounts.

Diagonal Blue was a doom and gloom poster who constantly went negative no matter what.

I'm a realistic poster. This means that sometimes your posts are going to align with the trolls because guess what? Sometimes things aren't great.

Of course, I was one of the few people who predicted after last season that we'd go at least 10-2 this year, but hey who cares? I must be Diagonal Blue because I agree with him that Michigan has lost a lot of talent from two big classes and I'm not sure the coaches can make up for it fast enough.

Oh okay, let's use the…

Oh okay, let's use the ranking that literally no one uses except for the religious subscribers to that site. Let's avoid the rankings that everyone else uses, including the very site you are on right now. Makes a ton of sense.

Keep flailing. Now it's "Actually, Solomon wasn't even important, the defense was great all year* without him and they will be fine next year". Sure,  move those goal posts. Let's pretend like the 5-star sophomore who flashed the most talent in the middle wouldn't be a huge piece of next year's line.

* Please ignore the entire OSU game where Michigan was unable to get any pressure up the middle allowing OSU to double the DEs.

1. So you aren't smart…

1. So you aren't smart enough to understand this isn't just about one commit. Congrats.

2. No, they haven't at this moment replaced Fields with a 5-star player. However, they are more likely to do so than Michigan from all evidence available. We are also talking about their back-up QB, not a starter.

3. Yeah, but losing your back-up is much different than losing a starter in any sane attempt at being reasonable.

4. Oh okay. You're going to use the rankings no one uses (one site's rankings) as opposed to the composite (three site's rankings). Does literally anyone who isn't a subscriber to one site use only their rankings? The answer is of course no, but whatever since you are desperate.
