I enjoyed both FFFF articles as I always do. I dont think asking if we are getting a podcast as well warrants this much hostility.

I mean, TCU 2022 is up there…

I mean, TCU 2022 is up there. 8 point favorite in a national semifinal. two pick sixes, a fumble on the opposing 1 yard line, a first and goal from the 8 that led to no points. total disaster.

Perhaps, buts its not a…

Perhaps, but its not a court case. Its the NCAA and they can kind of do what they want.

The Big Ten conference has…

The Big Ten conference has zero incentive to punish Michigan for alleged wrongdoing before the NCAA investigation has concluded.

But Brian, someone must be…

But Brian, someone must be held accountable for the human impact here. A known friend or trusted agent of Michigan may have been forced to watch Penn State's offensive line in person multiple times. That is human torture. It is a willful infliction of pain to the human eye that simply cannot go unpunished.

Any man who must say, "I am the king" is no true king.

The musical chairs at tackle…

The musical chairs at tackle has to end. Everything is held back because there is no flow on the offensive line. Giving Zinter a different tackle every drive is not sustainable.

Here is a take that might be…

Here is a take that might be controversial: we should've just picked one acting head coach. I totally understand wanting to give all these guys an opportunity, but I also think that they are all mature enough to respect one of them just getting picked for three weeks. After the first pick in a normal week, JJ and Sherrone and Kirk Campbell would be on a call to reset everything. But Sherrone had to deal with game theory things and HC duties. Michigan only had its OC in a normal role for Week 2. Sherrone was out in week 1 and then was pulled in 1000 directions last night. I think just making one person the acting HC (just pick a name out of a hat for all I care) and then just letting everyone else do their normal coordinator roles might've led to a bit of a smoother three weeks in a number of ways. We saw mistakes in substitutions, weird backup QB cycles (I suspect QB2 is Tuttle), and random miscues. It seems to me that having different people in charge each week was more trouble than it was worth. I am excited for Harbaugh to be back on the sidelines next week.

I highly doubt Ole Miss will…

I highly doubt Ole Miss will see it that way. Regardless of the circumstances surrounding the meeting, if another University employee spoke to a student like that they would face some consequences.

I mean that Ole Miss might…

I mean that Ole Miss might have to discipline Kiffin in some way. Another University employee speaking to a student like that would lead to consequences. I'm more interested in that than the lawsuit (which I think might struggle)

You might be right about his…

You might be right about his legal chances. I am much more interested in how Ole Miss responds to the audio of Kiffin. Its more about that for me than the actual legal dispute

Agreed that in reality the…

Agreed that in reality the football locker room is often a different place. But the university of mississippi is now the defendant in a lawsuit and there is a recording of lane kiffin vulgarly berating a player who is claiming to be struggling with mental health. The normal contours of "its football" are pushed aside there when university counsel now has to deal with this- so I expect their reaction is not going to be "well its just football." Most of the vulgar things said in a football locker room arent recorded and arent in response to a mental health claim.

I guess I am more interested…

I guess I am more interested in the Kiffin audio than the actual legal dispute. I think the sports interest is more "how does Ole Miss respond to this audio" as opposed to "is this player right to be suing the school"

One can see why Kiffin might be pissed. But I also think that if another university employee in charge of a department was caught talking to a student like that, there would be some consequences

Yes, I apologize. Realized I forgot this when I shared.

Hard to say. Naturally…

Hard to say. Naturally because its a lawsuit its one side of a story, but the audio is very bad you would think.

If you watch all of our run…

If you watch all of our run plays slowly, and I cant wait for the UFR this week for this reason, you will see that this isnt just a personnel problem. Basically everything is failing. On any given play different guys are making different mistakes and the whole thing is a mess. I am concerned at tackle, but I am more concerned about the fact that Barnhart and Keegan and Zinter are all out of sorts at times and our WRs cant block, on top of Hinton's struggles. Its a mess and I really really need it to be fixed.

I highly doubt this was…

I highly doubt this was consensual based on the details in the USA Today piece about the inconsistencies in Tucker's story. But let's say for the sake of argument it was consensual. Under the most favorable reading to Tucker, he admitted to having a sexual relationship with a university vendor who was conducting official business with the football team.

MSU cannot tolerate that.

This Alabama O line I am…

This Alabama O line I am watching would have a very difficult time against Jenkins, Graham, and Grant.

I agree generally. But there…

I agree generally. But there are questions (I am not willing to call them concerns). At some point someone is going to spend a drive testing the run-blocking of Michigan's O line. They are going to play high safeties and deny JJ options through the air and see if this group is as good as last year at opening lanes for Blake and Don.

So far there has been a lot of box stacking, but if that stops then I am curious if we will see the seven-yard first-down runs we were so accustomed to last year.

I agree with this. It will…

I agree with this. It will be fine. But, thank god Keegan and Zinter are back. I imagine this could look worse if we were also breaking in new guards.

Alabama has an offensive…

Alabama has an offensive line problem. And a QB problem. Very unlike them.

The sequence where we turned…

The sequence where we turned it over on downs was frustrating. Fine with runs, but I would've liked some more creativity in the runs. Also would have been okay giving Turner a field goal rep there.

If anyone plays two high…

If anyone plays two high safeties they may get reintroduced to Blake Corum and Donovan Edwards

Lots of packages today with Grant, Jenkins, and Graham on the field together. I wish offensive lines good fortune in the wars to come.

I would've liked to see Turner get a field goal attempt in the second q when we ran a dive on 4th and 3 that failed

Yeah, and I hope they use him in the pass game in the red zone! But i have a feeling he will usually be blocking

Jordan Travis tonight is what I want the coaching staff to do with McCarthy's legs. It's lethal when used correctly.

Yeah this is a great game. But I think there are some things both of these teams would struggle with against us. I think our defense would shut down some of these relatively simple passing concepts.

I don't think this is fair. I think we are better than both these teams.

Does anyone know if LSU…

Does anyone know if LSU defense is supposed to be really good? Dont know the projections on them really at all.

FPI is hilarious in my…

FPI is hilarious in my opinion. A hidden formula that nobody knows that purports to rank the teams but comes out with OSU above Georgia and Oklahoma above Michigan? It's a joke.

I am a bit confused by the O…

I am a bit confused by the O line breakdown. I know they are probably testing different starters next week, but the run blocking was certainly a concern. I wouldnt be surpised at all if the concepts work a lot better as with Sherrone Moore on the sidelines next week. I wonder if the adjustments were lacking today. Going to be more of a growth process than I was anticipating.

Allar has been pretty…

Allar has been pretty impressive, but this WVU secondary is atrocious. These receivers are wide open on every play. PSU O line is nothing special outside of Fashanu and I am not at all sold on Manny Diaz's defense, especially run defense.

I think a lot these…

I think a lot these complaints about Corum are ignoring the likelihood that he has not been hit since the Ohio State game 10 months ago on that first carry before he went out. I would not be surprised if he wasnt hit once in the entirety of camp. I think its natural he was working off a bit of rust and a bit hesitant at times. I am not that worried about it. I think that his top-end speed is down from 2021, but that was true last year too and is a result of the weight gain bulk, and he certainly did not look slower today than last season. I would take that extra power all day because of his effectiveness in short yardage.

I am with everyone and am a bit worried about the OL based on today, but some of this was the box stacking ECU was doing. I am curious if they go with the other tackles next week and Henderson, Keegan, Nugent, Zinter, Jones works better as a group. Will be curious to see if everyone stacks the box that aggressively, especially if JJ keeps dealing like that. Brian has talked about how everyone forgets how soft a lot of teams played us last year and it might be time for everyone to come to terms with everyone giving us the TCU treatment and loading the box.

Blue on blue is sick

I think that Cade's Dad is…

I think that Cade's Dad is emblematic of a lot of sports parents (and really parents in general) whose children might not be seeing as much success as they would like. There is always the ability to give vague critiques of the process or those involved with making the decision. And it's a natural parental instinct in a way. Parents can be willfully blind to a lot of stuff out of love, and it is natural to want your kid to thrive so badly that when you look at a comparison of your kid with someone else you sometimes don't really process what is before your eyes if it doesn't lead to the conclusion you want. I don't fault him for it. I might do the same were it my kid. It's something I think parents should be careful of because it can lead to disappointment and unreachable expectations for their children, but it doesn't mean it's not natural or even well-intentioned.

I guess my critique of the article is that it sort of gives the perspective of Cade's parents without offering this nuance. I would have liked some acknowledgement that Cade's parents are not at all objective viewers, and that there is a consensus among anyone not named McNamara that going with JJ was the right call.
