Cat picture question. What…

Cat picture question. What would you call that? A corn cat? A cat wrapped in corn? Or corn with a cat center?

My opinion: This is a pre…

My opinion: This is a pre-snap read only. If you watch the beginning of the play closely, there really is no mesh point. Corum is past Cade before he has control of the ball and Cade's eyes do not appear to be looking at the LB or DE during that time. To me this is a read based on UW's pre-snap alignment. The UW safeties were playing so deep, this alignment basically puts Henning in a footrace with a trailing LB if Wilson's block is even just a stalemate.

If the Wilson's block is even a 50/50, the most likely outcome of this play is Henning being pushed OOB at the sticks or just short of them right by the outside WRs feet.

I don't want to derail this…

I don't want to derail this thread and get down voted to Bolivia, but is it Gif with a soft MSU G or Gif with a strong Michigan G?

I would guess they would…

I would guess they would look at a 4-2-3-1 or a 4-3-3 depending on the development of the younger players. If anyone develops into a true #10 or Pulisic plus to other wingers are the best options a 4-2-3-1 would be optimal with a holding CM and a box to box in the other spot. If no one else develops into a #10 or you have more quality CMs than wingers you can play a 4-3-3 with Pulisic wide on one side and a deep lying CM and two more further up the field.

USA really needs the next coach with the tactical flexibility to play the style that best suits the team as it progresses and morphs in the next 4-8 years. I could even see a scenario where USA ends up playing a 3-4-3 if the talent develops in a specific way.

CCV will not get any regular…

CCV will not get any regular time at Tottenham this year unless disaster strikes. He is number 5 on their CB list even if Toby is sold and no replacement is purchased to replace him, which is highly unlikely. They will use Vert, Sanchez, Dier, and Juan Foyth for sure in front of CCV this year. I would even bet Ben Davies would deputize as a LCB in a back three before CCV gets any time, as he plays in a back three for his country.

CCV will be loaned back out to the Championship as soon as the team gets back from the USA and all the World Cup players return from their extended break. Tottenham had 9 players participate in the semi-finals for the WC and are very short on 1st team players for the US trip.

My biggest fear with CCV is similar to Brian's in that he maxed out his potential early. He is short for a CB and while he has strength and good straight line speed. He seems to lack the ball skills and quickness to ever be a high level CB in the EPL and to play regularly for Spurs you have to be at or near elite in the world.

Here is the easiest list I…

Here is the easiest list I can think of to describe the numbers. It is similar to the baseball numbered positions for the scoring system.

Sling is great.

I do find it interesting that you dropped DTV for Sling though. Sling is owned by DirectTV/AT&T.  So you are still using the same basic company just maybe at a cheaper rate and different service. Also Comcast owns a fairly large stake in Hulu. A majority of PSVue ad services are handled by AT&T and Comcast.

While I agree with much of this...

I think you are missing out on much of what a Klinsmann type of HC can do for a developing soccer nation like the US. While his tactics and style were not suited to where the US is today as a footballing nation. He has been touted and given credit iin changing/adjusting the youth/development culture in the US to more of a european style. The US has never been short in supply of footballers with the physical traits to be international level. What they have lacked is the skill and tactical level to be a top international level country. I do beleive that by liniking your develpment to professional clubs like europe it does give the US a chance to develop better footballers at a younger age.

Depth in quality is key at the international level. As you state you can't buy/sell/sign your way to the top. You need multiple choices of quality at each position to deliver at the top international levels.

Richard Pitino

Can we change his name from Richard Pitino to Dick Pitino from now on? I always wanted to call the elder Pitino by Dick, but it never caught on. Maybe his son can be the 1st in a long line of Dick Pitino's.

They charge you extra for

I find the 1st try never works. Usually I will call once and threaten. Then call back and say X available service is offering my Y. I then will say if you can match I will am even willing to add a paid service like HBO or Showtime on a trial.

This works almost everytime. You just have to remember to cancel the trial before you have to pay for the paid service.

Time to switch to DirecTv?

Not if you need internet as well. AT&T if available in your area is pretty crappy when compared to any of the cable wired companies. For TV alone they are as good or better.

OT - Comcast degraded picture quality in Metro Detroit/nationall

Sorry, I don't post on here often, but I do work in the cable/advertising industry. My understanding is this is all part of their "migration" process. They will eventually move over the majority of their bandwidth to wifi/streaming as they view their products as migrating there as well. With OTT devices becoming more and more deployed. Even down to smart TVs running the xfinity app, broadband will overtake the hardwired usage and need more room to grow.

Again not trying to defend Comcast, but they do view this as an upgrade/change for the future.

The 70 yard pass TD was not on Hill

Instead it was on Clark. I had to watch the clip about 10x, but Michigan is in a cover 2 zone. The CU formation is actually the exact same as the pop pass clipped from UCF game Clark starts the play about 10 yds off the line of scrimage to the top of the screen. At the snap all 3 Michigan LBs drop into zone coverage. The TE in front of Clark runs a 10 yard cross and Clark follows this when he shouldn't. If Clark had dropped into his 2 deep zone he would have been standing on the hash where the CU WR caught the ball. You can actually see when the pass is in the air all 3 Michigan LBs and Clark around the TE within 5 yards of each other.
