I'm surprised that Hayden's pink locker room did not come up in the discussion. The team played as though their "aggressive behavior had been reduced". I think there might be something to it.
For any GIF makers out there, Adrian Payne had a great play about 15min. into the first half against Virginia. I LOLed, rewound and LOLed again. Even though it wasn't against us, it would be a great match to my LOL-Craft GIF (which cheers me up when I'm feeling down).
I was very encouraged watching today. Against Wofford they fought through their own sloppy play, while here they came out executing well and kept their foot on the gas. The run they gave up was alarming, but they showed poise and patience in the way they held off TX. In games earlier this season they didn't do that and wound up with a few nail-biters. They look like they can give either Louisville or Witchita St. a run for their money.
Duke is an open offense, not so much a tight D. D is what we struggle against. Duke is a very winnable game, especially based on our improvement over the season. The its either Wichita, which, the same but maybe they're soft due to conference or Louisville who is the real team to fear. Tough region, but partly because we are in it. Bottom line is they are all tough, but we have very winnable matchups.
Overall looking like a not-so-bad draw. Duke is over-rated, Witchita St. with a soft schedule and Louisville with a pressing style D. not the worst path to a final 4

They had a 2pt loss to the number 1 team in the country followed by 10 straight wins. 1st loss since Dec 14th? IU was a letdown, but lets get real here.

The hatred runs deep I guess. If Hoke struggles the first few years its going to be a constant b!tch-fest about how RR ruined the program and every loss is his fault because Hoke is a Michigan Man, has toughness and points at stuff but RR liked sappy music and cried too much. We all should just move on and deal with Hoke and the current staff.
Just think about how RR was treated by the athletic dept., former players and coaches etc. and ask yourself who would want to come and coach at this school. We got Hoke because no one else would take the job. That said, lets just hope Hoke can get it done.
The bowl game was the iceberg that sank the RR ship. It was just too hard to argue that the program was improving when they got blown out in such fashion. However, that doesn't validate the whiny and self-entitled behavior of some of the other clans IMO.
The people who are on here hatin' on Brian are many of the same who were hatin' on RRod. It seems many of them are simply unable to understand things like reason and objectivity. You are either with them or against them and there is no room for complexity or nuance
I love brussel sprouts. They can be prepared any number of ways, with a reduction or glaze, sauteed with bacon, pan roasted w/ garlic. Usually I just steam them till soft, season and add some red wine vinegar sprinkled on top. They make an excellent side dish to pork. Also of interest, they the same species as cabbage, brocolli and cauliflower, simply different cultivar groups.
You're missing the point of why they are coached to hand the ball to the linesman. The idea is to greatly increase the tempo of the game, preventing D subs from coming in and resulting in more possesions for both teams. When tthe team is mediocre this has mixed or bad results. When the team is executing well it lowers the variance in outcome. Smartfootball has a recent analysis of Oregon and their up-tempo approach.
I don't object to any technique that works and I'm sure most will agree. But am I the only one who finds it amusing that these young men get rewarded with STICKERS?!?
I had a 4th grade teacher who gave us stickers for good behavior and if we got enough we could trade them in for a pretzel stick. I'm not sure what this says about college sports.
regarding the links from michgoblue & kriegers, both news outlets have published the same story from the AP, making only one source. ALso, the story says Stanford has offered; no mention of whether he accepted or signed etc.

The real problem is not typically the large organizations. They are forced to pursue small and not-meaningful violations because they will lose copyright if they don't. Universities probably do not care about these magazines or your swank tee's, they care about losing copyrights because they did not enforce them. This doesn't mean large organizations can't be evil, just that there is significant incentive to do so under current laws.
For comparison the I-A single season rushing record is held by Barry Sanders with 2,628 yards. Pat White's NCAA career rushing total is 4,480 yards. (both as per Wikipedia).
Shaw seems to get tackled by his feet frequently. Its just soooooo frustrating to see him fall down when there is nothing but air for 10 yards in front of him.
The coaching staff should have him run through some tire drills so he learns to get his knees up.
