Don't worry so much about long. He's athletic, and will be playing in man to man which will help to minimize mental mistakes. If we were running a zone i would be terrified for both as it is very difficult for young guys to disguise coverages and keep track of the different zones they need to cover on different plays. Much easier for the two of them to just go out there and dual their assignments.
I'm not sure he will bounce back, or that he is really even that good! He was awful in the army all american bowl, awful in both spring games, and was kind of disappointing his senior year of HS. It really looks like he was a one year wonder in HS and that is why he was so highly touted. I think sitting out for the academic issues really hurt him as it gave Evans, who was very underrated coming out of HS, a chance to really take the RB job. Maybe next year when Isaac is gone Walker could become the lead power back but i don't really see him being anything more than a situational player, as Samuels is right behind Evans when he leaves. Wouldn't be surprised if he transfers like Green.
It's because we go out everytime and sign a washed up superstar closer (Jones, Valverde, Nathan, Soria, K-Rod...). You would think after the tenth time we would learn, but that group of geniuses running our front office for the last decade thinks that maybe next times the charm. The problem is we are too quick to lose confidence in our prospects (Fransico Rodney, Andrew Miller, Robbie Ray and others) and so we release or trade them and other teams develope them into superstars while we go out and buy some 40 closer.
The SEC is a bunch of soft, overrated, and inconsistent teams. Other than alabama they havent been any good since 2010, but because of one team people just gush over the damn confrence. Had michigan been in the SEC east they would have gone undefeated to the SEC title game. Better yet you are now seeing that southern prospects (Like Soloman) are deciding to go elsewhere, because they know that Auburn, LSU, Georgia, and Florida are all shells of their former selfs. Im glad Soloman told the that bum confrence and their cheating boosters to screw off!
