I got sources saying this is about to happen...
Larry Page as the AD
Bill Belichick as the HC
Tom Brady as the OC
Charles Woodson as the DC
Peyton Manning as the QC
Desmond Howard as STC
Jim Tressel as the Recruiter
First year HC in a major conference
First year facing the Big Ten
Team still young
Team adapting to a new system
Should expect 400 to 450 yards allowed per game on defense
Improve to -7 turnovers
Improve to a better scoring percentage on offense
Find a 50% kicker
3/4 Wins in the Big Ten
2/3 Wins in the OOC
The realistic view would be 6-6 /7-5. I don't know why so many people are claiming a 5-0 start. That just seems like you're setting up yourself up for a let down. That means the Offense scores against good opponents, not getting blown out of games, and how we fair against our rivals. I believe that would be a good start to Hoke's coaching career at Michigan.
"I know that a lot of you (like me) were not very happy when Brady Hoke was announced to be our new head coach. However, we've had our day to mourn, and now its time to get behind the coach 100%. I am starting this thread so that we can collectively talk ourselves into liking Hoke as a coach and getting exited about the hire"
Nice way to start a Hype post with nothing but negative.
Well if anyone can use an unknown source. My source from inside the Panthers organization has said that Harbaugh and Luck have been working a deal. That Harbaugh will be the coach as long as they draft Luck with the first pick.
JH is going to bring his staff from Stanford, plus pick up RR from Michigan as OC, while Friedgen will be hired to be the special teams coach. The final piece of the puzzle is Urban Meyer who is in charge of PR, boosters and recruiting.
This is purely fictional but this is something that could have been tossed around by Harbaugh & Luck. The rest was added just for entertainment purposes. Since Carolina will get the first pick. It does make for an interesting conversation piece.
I really feel sorry for DB. This guy was hired in the worst of circumstances.
Option 1:
To keep RR and have another year of MSM, fans, and alumni at his throat. Then if he doesn't produce then we are right back to this situation again. That isn't healthy at all for the team, school, or even DB. The only way this would work out is if RR put fourth Michigan as a contender for the Big Ten Title and we beat OSU and MSU. I said in a post that RR wouldn't be going anywhere at the start of the season. I also said that DB would give him 1 more year no matter what his record. I now admit I could be wrong. The last few games and the bowl game our Offense stopped scoring and our Defense didn't do so well. That brings us to not bringing in JH. If JH is then picked up by someone else and RR has a bad year. There will be a committee of zombies at the end of the year wanting his head on a platter.
Option 2:
Well the JH chants have been out in droves. If he does decide to Fire RR and manages to make this work. He then has the same problem if JH has a terrible year and goes 4 -8. Those who wanted RR for another year. They will be screaming it wasn't time and RR should have been given 4 years.
Option 3:
He would hire another HC and have the same problems at option #2.
Option 4:
He retains RR and RR is forced to fire all his staff. This then puts RR is a slimy bucket of WTF kind of person does that to his own staff and how he left WVU then followed by the Sanctions by the NCAA. This making some people happy by keeping RR for another year but also paints RR as a true "snake oil salesman". Then if he has another bad season. That leaves RR on a boat all his own as he burnt his own bridges with former staff. Then we are back to where we are right now.
I am sure there are more options, but I can honestly say there is no amount of money that I would take to be in that position. He is in a no win situation. The fan base, MSM, and the alumni are split and the rift continues to grow.
I see it on the boards here. The negging back and fourth between pro and con RR supporters. The person that is the most fucked in all this is DB. What ever choice he makes may make his tenure here the greatest call in history or the worst hire for AD in the history of Michigan.
I am just going to watch and enjoy. I have been surprised by the amount of good games, the underdog wins, the crazy plays at the end of the game, the big hits, teams coming out flat, and the poor kicking. I hope it is exciting.
I just got off the phone with Brandon and RR. I have been given insight to how things are going to work.
1) RR has the choice of darts, throwing knifes, or an axe
2) Brandon is setting up a spinning wheel that is sectioned out and will be labeled with different things
3) They will be labeled fired, given a pay raise, hire JH, fire the defense coaches, drop football all together, only allow 4 recruits a year, contract until 2099, etc...
4) RR will be blind folded and allowed 3 throws
5) The throws will take place at halftime of our bowl game
6) Dave will surprise RR in the 4th quarter of the bowl game with the surprise of letting Martin throw for his future and it will be televised live
7) Freep will be given an interview with Brandon after the game to reveal how he thought out this brilliant idea
I wasn't supposed to leak the details, but I know how everyone is wanting to know. I hope RR isn't reading as he will know he doesn't have to practice throwing knifes, darts, or an axe. Please don't tell him.
I have to say this is one of the most most bi-polar years of fans have ever seen. You hear one of a couple things that are repeated over and over.
1) Fire RR
2) Give RR more time Michigan has to much youth
3) Clean house on defense
What I seen was a team that was as close to going 4-8 as they were going 7-5. We are 7-5 and as someone else said not all 7-5 teams are created equal. We barely put away a terrible Purdue team, We beat Indiana on a jump ball, We went into triple overtime against the Illini, and we had to go the distance against Umass, and we beat ND who didn't even have a starting quarterback for 1/2 the game.
We have a DC who admits he never played the 3-3-5. Yet everyone expects miracles. Why does the HC hire someone then not let him play his style. I ask everyone would you hire upper management and then say we want you to do things this way? We don't care what you have done in the past.
I really am tired of people putting this on the DC. I believe its time for Michigan Fans to suck it up. You can speculate all you want, but hiring a new DC and staff does nothing when he can't run his system. It doesn't matter who it is.
We suck on Defense, Special Teams, and our offense has looked less than stellar 3 weeks in a row. I am not sure who's right at this point, but for all those saying its time to get rid of the DC and staff. I ask you to take a long look at what you ask.
Something has to be wrong with coaching if we are still starting freshman and sophomores. There has to be something wrong when in the last 3 games we have looked more like a middle of the road offense. Look at the turn over margin, Look at the special teams, Look at scoring and tell me what you see.
If we just look at progression. We take the last 4 games of the season. That puts 8 games under Michigan's belts. That gave the team a chance to gel. What do you see? How far have we progressed?
I don't have a clue what will happen. I just gave my input on it. I don't really see an awesome offense. I see 1 super star who has been worn down because he has very little supporting cast, WR's who fail to show up every games, RB's who have really never showed up most of the season, TE's do we even have one?, Oline has played well all year. The defense nothing more needs said about that.
I am sure I will get a lot of counters, but it is the way I see it. This board is for us to express what we see. It is our thoughts. I do thank the community. It has been a lot of good reading. I give thanks to all the staff here, the great writers, and most important the fans. We may not all see the same, but we all have love for Michigan Football.
I am all in with the idea of at least 500 to post. I just lurk around and most of what I think is said at least 50 times a week. I just like getting my updates from reliable sources. You guys are awesome.
"He was feeling a little like a caged animal on the sidelines. He knew the cameras were on him, and that they were looking for an emotional reaction, so he was trying to hide his face with the towel. He was not pouting. The cameras kept prodding, and egging him on, so he got upset about it."
How did the cameras make him sit on the bench? If he knew the cameras were on him. Then why not just hang out with the team? How did the press make him react that way? His words may have been said in the heat of the moment, but he left a big statement with no finish. He should have expected fall out. I am not impressed at all that on numerous times their has been transfer rumors. They have to come from somewhere. I think this just shows that it was in fact Tate not getting what he wanted and this time he did it in the national spotlight. Thus no speculation he has actually told people he has thought about transferring.
"We knew some disciplinary actions were coming down the pipe, so we kind of saw some things that others didn't. Not everyone knows and sees everything that goes on on the inside."
If it was supposed to be handled in house. Why did Tate's Dad release this to the public. There is room for error in judgements but releasing non public information to explain the situation of why Tate was 3rd string seems to just bring the spotlight back on the question of WHY. What has Tate done now?
"This is like a boxing match, and the advice I give him is ride it out baby, ride it out. Those who stay will be champions."
This is also a concern. If you have to convince your Tate to ride it out. That leaves a massive amount of questions. A) If he cant motivate on his own. Then why Tate at Michigan? B) If he you have had to come to his aid and do PR work for him now 2 times in the last 2 months. Then that also shows he is not happy.
I do thank Tom for having an inside track on this situation, but alot more questions are raised than answered. Everyone went off on the Bikini Dressed reporter, but looking at these events. It does look like Tate flys off the handle. It is not out of reality to see him say he wanted to transfer. We do have confirmation as he said it in the national spot light.
Where there is smoke there is fire. I believe Tate to be an obvious talent who can handle the stage, but can he be a team player when the spotlight isn't on him? Whether I getted negged or not. That doesn't really matter to me. I believe in all things big and small with the events of the day. The Mealer walk, DRob having the game that makes potential legends, and the dedication ceromony of the Bigger House he should have been all smiles or at least faked a smile since "he knew he was on camera"
How I got my name. I look for the best free music, movies, streams, and information on the net. I found the best free Michigan information data base in the world at MgoBlog.
The Michigan D stopped a potential 21 points this week. They don't have to play perfect. We seen them cause a few errors by the QB. They got in his head so next week should be no different. We know all QB's make mistakes and get frustrated. Thats when our D will step up even more. We will force teams to play from behind. The big test will be against a veteran QB with wide receivers, but for now lets savior the flavor of a giant win.
We played almost perfect on offense.
we even got back our own fumble :)
3 plays big plays on defense
the no catch on the 2
having been beaten by the wide out but still had 2 guys close was enough to force an error in throwing stopping what would have been 6
and forcing the fumble when they were going to cut it to 7
Thats 21 points the D didn't allow. Total Win
Special Teams
All them short kickoffs scare me
The missed extra point Woah
Most important we D'ed up and allowed us to get out to a 21 point lead. Overall I will say I'd give us an B rating. It is the first game and many underclassmen are on the field.
I don't feel sorry for him at all. Last year when D-Rob was in and fumbled and turned a snap into a TD. They did the chest 5. Today he didn't seem at all involved until D-rob got hurt and he put his hat on and started stretching. Then the most disgraceful thing period is when he had the towel on his head and looking like we lost by 30.
What ever happens its time for him to step up and be apart of the team whether he is #1 or #3. The goal of football is to win as "The Team, The Team, The Team". He should apologize to all his team mates.
We are a young team no matter how you twist it. It is unreasonable for anyone to put a number for RR to stay. This is the kind of talk that makes coaches want to quit. It is the kind of talk that makes young players who have lost 2 games early into a season lose hope. We know we are going to have injuries. We still have young players in skill positions. We are going to fumble. The difference is next year. No matter what we do this year. Everyone sees we will have 20+ starters. We will have depth and that is why all this talk of (X) number of games is a dead subject. DB knows it and so does everyone else.
We may or may not get a miracle season this year, but after that we have the makings of a Blue Dynasty again.
There are a lot of cam sites where you can show anything. So in reality anyone with good internet speed could aim a cam at the TV and the chances are slim to none that it would get shut down. I cant really post a link because some show nudity and not sure how this site feels about that.
If I didn't have sub par streaming abilities I would be happy to do it for you.
I am so glad that after every thing this young man has been through. He still has the courage to get out of bed. I have to say it is a reality check of what is really important in life. It is amazing what can be accomplished with the right attitude, determination, and the big hand of God.
13 seconds on the clock on Ohio States 28 yard line
Devin in the shot gun
Tate as running back
and Denard as the wide out
Devin takes the snap and hands off to Tate who goes left as Denard come to take the reverse. Tate pitches to Denard who has an open lane but see's Roundtree all alone at the 5 and walks in for a touchdown SCOREEEEEEEEEEEEEE. Michigan 34 - Ohio State 27
I would recommend a core 2 duo, SSD, @ least 3 gigs of ram, with a a good graphics card if you like to watch movies. From what you said you don't do any hard multiple tasks. This is all the PC you need. You could actually get by with a P4 with hyper threading.
I have been building PC's for about 10 years now. The SSD will make a huge difference. It is like night and day for boot ups less than 10 seconds. I would also go with a 15.4 or 17.1 screen size as it makes watching better and cant forget make sure you have a blue ray player. You don't want to forget that.
Do you have emails for these people? A centralized blog "Save the Biggest Last Game of the Season in College Sports"? Gaining national news works far better at gaining attention than "letters". If 100,000 people participate in as a group for the world to see it impacts everything in a different respect that 100,000 letter sent by a mailbox. It is kind of like Missouri...The Show Me State" If we see others it helps us to become more motivated.
I thought this blog site was different. I was wrong. I see the same egotistical over inflated god like complexes of people acting like the opinions of others don't matter. There are many nice people on the site, but damn some of what has been said is crazy.
I guess for me reading stupid comments is like watching ESPN announcers at times. It's easier to turn it off than listen to the dribble that spews from their mouth or in the blogger world move to the next comment. It is diversity in opinions that open us up to new thinking which pushes all people to learn. Without that we would all believe and think the same way.
Since I have only been a fan for 15ish years. I reverse what I said earlier about it was okay to put UofM & OSU in different divisions. I have learned a lot looking deeper into the past. I can see where the "old faith full" are coming from. I can see how changing something with so much culture would be bad.
I do hope that a petition could be filed. So at least if nothing else we can try to mandate the UofM and OSU stay in the same conference. That they play the last game of the year and may possibly determine who is the national champion. There has to be a someone in the Big 10 with the balls to organize a group to at least let the peoples voices be heard.
Thanks for all you guys have been teaching me. My apologies for anyone I may have offended for not truly understanding what the rivalry meant to you all.
It started for me at the end of last season and the start of this season. I was impressed that any person would take on that shit storm of fury and still stay loyal to coaching. It cant be an easy road to travel when you win 3 games in your conference in 2 years. When you finish dead last in the conference your second year. When you have the press writing stories about you non stop. When even sports TV is saying he better win X amount of games and still have that passion to coach.
The spring practice wasn't anything special. It just made me look at RR in a new light. I know he could have left Michigan and took a new job. He stayed true to the program as well as his recruits. He actually looks like he has a fire under his ass. He also said some key things. I think he has finally come to understand his O has a little to much hump for most talented quarterbacks to get even in there second year. I like when he said he would keep it simple. There are only so many Pat Whites and as of right now we dont have one performing at that level each and every game.
I for the first time see a team. The pictures and interviews where you see the team. They look happy playful and interactive with each other on the feild. We may not go undefeated but after 2 years of wanting RR's head on a platter. I am finally all in as a RR supporter. I believe we will see massive improvements all the way around. RR is coming back in 2011 no matter what and the 2011-2012 team will not only be bad ass. We will make a run at the Big Ten Championship and possible a shot at the Crystal.
I really thought he had won 2 championships. I knew he had multiple final 4 and Big Ten Championships. I do stand corrected about multiple Championships. Thanks for the link :)
I read a lot of the comments and the first post. If you don't like them and say they are not a credible source of information. Then why do you write about it? Our papers slam the Pacers all the time. You just blank it out and move on. They aren't going to change.
From what I understand there is a large anti RR fan base in Michigan. There are people who have never liked him from day 1. That being said. It goes to reason if people in the press get a chance to run a negative story they will. I am not taking away from RR, but he hasn't had a stellar record.
It is simple economics of marketing. Scandals, Sex, and Rumors even if not proved move media. It is not like this is something new. I can say been there seen it. They have been saying fire Larry Bird for the last 5 years. It doesn't ever go away when you are losing.
Winning clears all these types of things. It shuts up the media, fans jump back on the band wagon, and old fans rejoice in happiness. It is the way of the new generations. Instant gratification seems to be the marker for positive or negative press. That is not going to change and neither is what Freep prints until the wins start rolling.

There are so many ways to stream now a days

He is a hero.
I am so glad that after every thing this young man has been through. He still has the courage to get out of bed. I have to say it is a reality check of what is really important in life. It is amazing what can be accomplished with the right attitude, determination, and the big hand of God.

Im throwing out my predictions for the OSU game.

They alwayz wait to release the latest and greatest until around Christmas, but you can get some great deals on last years models by shopping now.
I really thought he had won 2 championships. I knew he had multiple final 4 and Big Ten Championships. I do stand corrected about multiple Championships. Thanks for the link :)
Kicking OSU ass 2 times in 1 year would be best case scenario
I am a country boy from Indiana. I spend a lot of time deer hunting. So it is the perfect fit for the hunter & fan
Maybe this is not a bad sign after all. Denard made it work for him.
If he ever does run. Then perhaps it gives him an extra 10 yards as no one can see him over the O line.
Thats us running over the defense
